Actually it is that easy and simply, modders even looked into it and confirmed that the elite has been modeled for holding all the different baseline weapon models... even other game devs have said in the past that it could take 2-4 devs maybe 1 or 2 months to make a simple animation for all the vehicles or newer models for different gun animation, it is that simple.

@@YaloChief yes that is more or less correct, 343 doesn't make many choices of their own for Halos development and even if they did, most of their design choices have been nothing but reason on why they are trying to kill Halo since they were put in charge over a decade ago.

Fun fact: it is infact quite easy to add playable elites the main issue being though is animations for you see the elite doesnt have animations for human vehicles human weapons pistols hammers deployable abilities and poses
Can actually just reuse animations and adjust where necessary. Like infinite has been in development for like a decade now and halo 2 and 3 were developed in a quarter of the time.
@@MAGPIELEON not if they want it polished no, but they can take existing assets and animations and dump them onto the current skeletons, hitboxes, collision shapes (however they internal define the bones of the player models). It's how I prototype things for my own games.
It would make more sense for just playable elites due to many being allied with humanity. The brutes in general are still usually enemies and too aggressive for peace.
Why not both? Eldewrito is getting both, and that's unpaid talent without official tools. It's not happening because they don't want it, not because it's difficult.
Does anyone remember some of the iconic weapons from previous Halo games missing in Halo Infinite? The fuel rod, spartan laser, the original pump-action shotgun, beam rifle, plasma rifle, the *magnum* and so much more were either not implemented or just replaced.

If they can make playable spartans there is no reason they can’t make playable elites. It’s not that hard. The truth is they made the decision not to for whatever reason and then the player numbers fell to a point they didn’t feel playable elites were worth the cost. It is absolutely not a matter of skill. These are the best in the industry the bottom dollar is profit and they don’t see any in small additions like this. I have hundreds of hours in Infinite and I think it’s a very solid Halo game but to make strange excuses like “it’s hard” is just absurd.

Forget playable elites, microsoft should hire passionate people who are fans of halo and would follow bungie's formula for halo instead of trying to create an entirely new game for non halo normie fans.
I think it may be less about the resources and time, and more about the monetization. There's a reason why the base game is an online free-to-play. They would also have to create purchasable armor options for them too. Which will cut into both of those. Not as simple as it was for the older games.
I wouldn't mind rhat as I love the classic armours they have normally. Don't get me wrong I'd love all the armour attachments I'll be completely fine with the different class armours as armour sets
People need to give up on this for infinite. Its life cycle is almost over. The absolute best elite content we have even a shot at getting would be to actually release those major / ultra / specops coatings they made but held back after the minor blue and Swords bronze. Maybe in halo 7 if it's built in from the ground up. I'd probably actually pay the MTX for a 2/3 Arby kit, or an honour guard or a reach ultra.
Ok so? Why is that an excuse? We have better technology and better consoles, there is absolutely no reason a game from over ten years ago is able to have more features then a game made now. Absolutely no excuse. 343 is incompetent and lazy. You saying “game development is different now” is like saying the Star Wars sequels have and excuse to be bad because “making movies is different now”. You are the problem. Guys playable elites were fun, but they’re a pain in the ass hitbox-wise. Even genetically modified, elites tower over most Spartans. This was a big problem when playing Reach because you either missed shots that were clearly hitting, or hitting shots you shouldn’t have. The only way to bring them back is do something like, maybe, in the next game making Spartans larger so the elites would be around the same size. Just spin some lore like the next generation of Spartans having an advanced growth hormone dwarfing the last gen.
Their only reason for focusing on armor is the sole purpose of profiting off of them... looking at the actual effort put into content, including the campaign vs the effort put into armors made for the shop and paid battle passes, it's insane. It seems like 5 of those 7 years of development were strictly dedicated to developing content for the shop. Everything thats missing including playable elites was that simple to add even if they started post launch, they just chose not to.

Besides, if 343 adds it, everyone will hate on them for not doing it earlier And theyre most likely moving most of their team over to working on the new game, which is probably why the operations are kinda low quality It would be cool to see it come back tho
Ok I understand that it’s not some simple thing you can do In a day… but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the means to do it because they do and their more than capable. The problem simply comes down to choice, if they don’t see profit then they don’t do. They’ll continue to slap u with pointless cosmetics till the next title and then do it there. Also the fact that their very limited on resources and what their ALLOWED to do which is both fault of Microsoft and 343 management. 98% of the work would just be getting the A ok to do it. The ridiculous part that all adding playable Elites or Brutes or whatnot would only bring actual interest to the game and it shouldn't take so long or be that hard to add them because the ground work is there like they're able to use most weapons and "vehicles" I mean all they got to do practically refine them by letting them do more and add animations
Some people watch this video and somehow still think it’s that simple. It’s not only just the animations they have to do. Most animations they have to redo instead of re-using anyways. Elites are cool and all but it’s wayyy too late to do playable elites now when 343 is already working on something new.
They're more focused on adding armor cat ears and skins for shit instead of actually adding important things to the game. Like more shtuff for campaign, or new weapons anything actually substantial for the game. Fucking modders with less than or much of the time no budget can create content for this game and more, they have no legitimate excuse.
Not as much about the difficulty is the amount of money they make off whales and not doing anything with it. No new weapons or vehicles for over a year apart from the bandit rifle and forklift (I’m not counting the sand which). We still don’t even have skins for HALF the weapons in the game. The real meaning behind wanting playable elites is that it was a functioning part of previous titles that they just dropped and never added back. Same thing with dual wielding which I want to happen more than anything alongside new vehicles.
Playable elites have been playable since the OG Xbox 343 are just lazy to do so the assets are there they just won’t use them 🤷♂️ it’s simple to do so not that hard
Well of course they can't add playable elites. 343 can barely put content into the game like 70 percent of the multiplayer at this point is community made, but 100 percent of the store is 343 made, Microsoft wont let them make something interesting that could make things fun and different again when just adding another $20 blue is just as viable.
It’s a 1st person shooter. You wont even see yourself. Who cares about playing as an elite? We want the game to work properly without Desyc, Blank Shots, Getting Shot Behind Cover, Etc. Hell, I’d take an option to not play against PC players when I’m on a console over a damn playable elite. 🤷🏾♂️
