Where Are The Trainee A Members Now? (JUNE 2023 UPDATE) 

I really want JJ to debut in a different group in the next few years. He has so much talent and potential, he’s so sweet and soft spoken in interviews as well. He seems to really take care in the words he uses.

i'm sad they didn't debut after all, but... all the project did to the guys was making them struggle. i'm happy they're all better now and huge thumbs up to leo for proving he's changed and reflected on his controversy. i love all 7 of them.

I really wanted Sangwon to debut, but he has left Hybe to start a modeling career. Sangwon supposedly started training at BigHit in 2016 which means that up until leaving, he had the longest training period out of any (undebuted) trainee at Hybe. He trained with both TXT and Enhypen. He has been mentioned by Taehyun in a vlive and went on vacation with Jay and Heeseung to Brunei. He said in one of the Trainee A videos that he was trying to not get his hopes up because he had been in disbanded projects before. I think after the attention Trainee A received pre-debut, their debut seemed almost inevitable, which makes the disbandment of the project even more heartbreaking for him. I think that is what made him finally leave the company. It's also compounded because I think he was very close with Leo from watching their videos. I would love to see him debut in another group, but I don't think he can experience any more heartbreak like this.

So many of us identified as Aeons, and were so excited to support their debut😢. I always had the impression that they were not supported properly by the company. They needed more guidance, and mentors. Why did the company release such controversial content? And young people will make mistakes, because you have to experience life to learn and grow. Trainees are in a little bubble, and don't get to have the same life experiences the rest of us take for granted. What a talented group of young men they are. I have been keeping my eyes open for any hopes of seeing them again. We know Yorch debuted, on his own, in Thailand. It breaks my heart to think Sangwon, and Woochan might give up their dreams of a career in entertainment. They are so young, still, and I pray they are just taking a break after such a stressful time. Especially Sangwon, after training so long. Someone needs to acknowledge his potential and scout him! I Loved Leo's musical style, and also praying that he continues producing! Thank you for reporting on this! I think we will always be watching for them!💪🤨

I was ready to stan Trainee A with all my heart 😭 I loved their extreme chemistry and how they radiated confidence and naturalness even when talking in front of the camera. They were also very talented and synchronized when it came to dancing. 😭 I still want them to debut altogether, even of what's left of them now :((

I think that after Leo's departure, the mood within the team was probably just not the same, and they eventually decided to cancel the project as a result. We do not know what happened behind the scenes, but we know that Leo had struggled a lot towards the end, so it's not hard to imagine that the others struggled too. Add to it the pressure, your friend's departure etc., and you might just find yourself with a recipe for disbandment.

I really hope that JJ debuts he was my favorite of the boys even though i loved all of them. Aint no privacy was an absolute bop

Leo was basically the yeonjun of txt, the heesung of enhypen, the rm of bts. without him trainee a would be incomplete. it's sad that he left so suddenly and so close to debuting

the fact that if you debut under Bighit you have to be really good or backlash especially when your seniors are THE BTS and THE TXT can't imagine the pressure on them and i am rooting for them hope they all become very successful

they were the future of Kpop and with time they would have been the best boyband of all time, that's how i felt when i met them

They already developed the true friendship, if “Leo not in the group, then I will leave”, and one more thing about debuting trainee is that they need to be completely ready to be an idol so that they can truly make their debut.

I hope they can still debut under different labels. They were so talented individually. JJ was super talented. Wishing them bright futures.

JJ has so much potential, hismlack of debut would be a talent wasted. Tbbh it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up on Iland 2 or some other survival show in the near future. Heck, I think he'd stand a good chance of winning or at the very least make the lineup. This could be true for pretty much all of this group.

I really loved this project and I was proud to support all the boys since pre-debut. I still can't believe that their talent was waste like that. I'm still having a hope to see James and JJ in the Pledis nbg, they were my fav meme-duo...

It’s so sad I also heard that most of them went back home and quit, and some of them like JJ are still on the run looking for a place in an idol group. I could be wrong though but I wish them the best ❤

Leo debut as soloist under 131. Yorch debut with boy group named POW under Grid. I hope the rest of members will debut soon too. I couldn’t see them tgt in the same group but at least I can see them stand next to each other on stage in the future.

Update: abt a month after this video was posted, James was a backup dancer for JK during the live stages of "SEVEN". So he’s still in HYBE as a trainee.

Sadly it's normal fot BigHit to form a group around one member. BTS and RM, TXT and Yeonjun. so after Leo left the group the plans were ruined...

Came here after watching JK's inkigayo performance and JAMES WAS 1 OF THE BACK UP DANCERS!😭 now our curiosity of where or what he's up now after Trainee A project canceled...this appearance of him might be an introduction of him as a member of Pledis up coming bg😭🤞🤞🤞

It’s really sad how everyone is only wishing for JJ and Sangwon but are forgetting about jihoon and James if you were a true aeon you would have been rooting for all to debut even if it’s with different groups they were all talented and deserved it

I’ve been a fan of them since oct. 2021 and I always thought they were such a talented group and really wanted them to debut. I enjoyed watching them on the journey but them sadly not debuting was upsetting to me knowing that they spent their youth training. they were such a talented group that was thrown away. I really hope atleast some members get to debut again. I’m rooting for their future. let’s go trainee a!!! ❤️

It's quite simple yet so hard for people to get; what happened behind the scenes of a label is obviously unknown to us. We do not even know what was the real reason behind Trainee A's disbandment. So to assume irrelevant things on our own is just ridiculous. Believe me, there's always a reason for everything. So I m pretty sure something must have happened and that's why Trainee A was dissolved.

I was following trainee a for awhile and I was really looking forward to their debut. I was mainly looking forward to Woochan because I remember when he was on SMTM6 when he was younger and he was really talented. I remeber watching the battle where it was Woochan and (I forgot the other persons name) vs won jae and Asol and when Asol said something about how woochan will be an Idol. And when Woochan was announced as a member of TraineeA I rewatched that video. I was also a fan of JJ because of his dancing skills. I am also kind of wondering how Jihoon and James are doing because they weren't mentioned in this video at all.

K-Pop fandoms can be EXTREMELY judgemental, it irks my soul. Most Idols spend their youth becoming what the fans want and often don't get opportunities to develop autonomy. Some fans think they own them, image and all. They are human, and humans are fallible

I said This before in another video I think that the reason why trainee A’s debut got canceled was because of Leo’s scandal and before his scandal I think BIGHIT desperately wanted to debut him and make Leo the leader of trainee A but ever since that scandal he left the company and I think BIGHIT kind got a little upset. And when he left BIGHIT probably didn’t see any interest in trainee A anymore but that was my opinion there could of been another reason but IDK 🤷‍♂️

I still think the situation with Leo was stupid. 1. How many freaking rappers has lyrics that sounds like that and no one says anything? Bc why should we? And 2. Yes he's an adult but we all say bad things we don't mean when we're very angry, people are getting way too sensitive

It's hybe fault too but on the other hand it's our fault too that they were not debuted. The expectation and unrealistic demands of perfection from the society towards idols, makes company to force the idols towards into unimaginable being along with the reviews and critics of public. So both parties are playing the role in betterment and downfall of the idols.

Where is James? I think he was the best dancer and choreographer. There was nothing wrong with Leo's raps. Aussies are always open. Netizens are mostly BTS' fans and seem to attack everyone else. Everybody loved Leo. Everyone loved Trainee A. The judges were just too old to see value. I thought I saw JJ with Jackson from GOT7. James' dance moves are mimmicked everywhere.

(Even though yes there’s alot of that in the industry) they should’ve given them constructive criticism or at LEAST a few compliments. It hurt seeing them constantly sad. It amazes me to see trainee groups get formed and dumped like trash. These boys made fans and they're not just numbers.. theyr'e real people with real feelings. Companies don't care about that. They scrap the project and with it goes the hopes and dreams of both the boys and their fans. I've been into kpop songs for over 15 years but I hate the industry more with each passing year. They need a clause of "we will not be heartless douchebags with both artist and fan". What harm could come if these guys had normal professional social media that people could keep tabs on?

I know this is off topic, but what’s with people using the New Zealand flag when talking about Australia? Apparently it’s hard to find the Australian flag so they just use the New Zealand one? This is the third video in the past two weeks that I’ve watched that has messed it up.

So sad they haven't debut yet but their head is already big. That's y bighit didn't debut them.

Of course I pray for their success but we don't know what's going on behind the scenes whether the staff has a secret plan or by sending them to another agency is the right choice to make. I don't agree with the statement that they waste their youth struggle at Bighit and there is no certainty of debut because all kpop trainees go through a process like this, it's just not exposed. Actually I think trainee A is lucky because before their debut they already had strong fans who supported them and they had training experience at one of the big agencies.

Kpop stans really bullied their leader out of the group over made up lyrics and an imaginary girl, showed them how horrible being an idol can really be and how psycho stans truly are, and still have the audacity to say: "hm, i wonder what happened". Each day that passes, the more I see why the anime/manga Oshi No Ko had to be made.

As we all know it is a cut throat industry so you can train for years, are very talented, etc.. and still not debut which is a big shame but is reality. I hope they get to debut in other ways as they worked so hard for so many years and are so talented. It would be a big waste of their efforts and talents if they cannot debut. However, even if they could not debut, I still wish for them the best regardless of what they decide to do!👍😊
