I don't think God would lead anyone to a place where they are preying on vulnerable women. As a woman with PCOS and RA, I know there have been times where I have felt so terrible I was willing to do just about anything to feel "normal." There was a time in my life where I would've implicitly trusted my pastor's wife, and if she told me to cover my body in patches and I would feel better...I would've given her all of my money. Luckily, I know better now. But this really angers me.

Avoiding lactose and gluten isn’t a guaranteed path to better health … unless you’re allergic/intolerant to them. My life definitely improved when I figured out that I had become lactose intolerant as an adult and took steps to manage it! A registered dietitian is a much better choice for nutritional advice than a naturopath or chiropractor!

Asking the real questions & getting the real answers is only possible if: 1. The person answering is honest, has accurate helpful information 2. You know not just what but how much of each ingredient is in each product 3. There’s quality, ideally 3rd party, double blind, large sample size studies done at the bare minimum. I bet I could guess & bet my last buck on how she sells this. I’ve had an autoimmune disorder & so does my daughter, changed my life, I was on the hunt to find something good enough that I’d give it to my DAUGHTER, my baby. 15 yrs & I’ve tried everything, this changed my life blah blah lies blah. It’ll be gross & predatory to a community that can feel vulnerable & be willing to try anything to feel better.

Dairy and gluten can be bad for you if you’re sensitive to those, or have a medical condition. I have endometriosis and both of those can exacerbate my symptoms. But I do think people shouldn’t go dairy or gluten free unless they have a medical reason for it or if those things make them sick.

So what about those research studies for the lifewave patch - I have cut and pasted some key info so people can evaluate themselves. I have a rusty biochemistry degree where the details are probably out of date, but consider myself fairly literate in science blurb. So the studies - very much 'in house' for alternative wellness perspective (from the background of researchers and the publications imho). It is normal to be funded by a product developer, who else would pay? The first was 10 people using the patches for a week - no control - and had a rise in levels of GHK -Cu in the blood. GHK-Cu is also offered as a supplement due to claims of helping in skin care and thicker hair. Nothing else was measured and no control group. The second had 50 people and double blind - so 25 people on the active product. Here they tested for various amino acids This was also only for 7 days. So yes they had studies - for tiny groups over a single week, so claims of stem cell stimulation (not in studies); long term benefits (not in studies); role of acupressure points (used for patch placement but not compared to other locations).... not covering their backs. Measuring amount of something in our blood - this is easier to sample than testing levels from related cells. However It needs to be considered that levels can vary from 'need x amount in the blood as it is taking it around the body' to 'it is only in the blood as the excess has been expelled from the other cells/tissue' . For biochemicals in the latter group higher levels in the blood does not = better. I don't know the current view on amino acids/peptides regarding this. A rise in levels may not be positive once sufficiency is achieved.

Nothing wrong with seeing a naturopath doctor, as long as you also see a primary care doctor and if you have digestive issues seeing gastroenterology. I’m all for natural medicine to help with some issues but sometimes you do need prescription medication.
