@@georgikorovski9054 I think Topalov didn't. He took part in the Champions Showdown in Saint Louis (rapid and blitz event) and won his match against Leinier Dominguez. But in fact he hasn't been seen very often on the chess scene lately. I believe his last major tournament in classical time control was the 2018 Gashimov Memorial, in Shamkir, Azerbaijan where he finished tied for 8th-9th with Rauf Mamedov (in a 10-player round robin) on -1, only ahead of David Navara (-4).

@@matheuspenteado8174 I read an interview with him for a Russian newspaper. He is retiring. He still is occasionally playing chess but he said that he now hates professional chess for what it has become. He said that he most likely won't be staying in the scene like Kramnik and Leko did.

@@georgikorovski9054 I was not aware of this interview. That's really unfortunate because Topalov is a great player and he deserves more credit for being FIDE World Champion and #1 on the ratings list for a period.

Yeah, but I think it's quiet easier to find such a move while sitting in front of your device, than finding and! playing it in such a tournament against Caruana after more than six hours Especially you have to calculate Rc2 and g4 and so what, even though you already found a winning move

Not me but I think it's the little bits of icing on the commentary and analysis cake that make his videos so appealing. Knowledgeable, intelligent, fluent English, rapid talking, information packed, background stories, pleasant personality, smiley faces, Medo. He is a little obsessive and a perfectionist but that is part of his personal charm. My favorite place to go each day. A much watch ritual for me each day. If I miss a video I start to go into withdrawals.

Yeah, g4 move it is difficult to find. But even I can find it. Leko just forget quotes come from former world champion Emanuel Lasker. "if you find a good move search for a better one" But in the end the important thing is to win. Just like capablanca

I'm a 1800ish player and even I found the Knight e5 move. For me it was a totally obvious move: centralize the knight, threaten mate and force the opponent to figure out something which interupts his own plan.

At 10:25, Black could have played Rook captures on g6. I think this could win the game, it’s only a temporary took sacrifice and it pushes the pawn forward. Then Rook C2 would support it nicely

If I remember correctly, Leko in his world championship match against Kramnik had a game where he had a queen against Kramnik's 2 rooks and Kramnik simply destroyed him. Perhaps that's why Leko went for the 2 rooks in this game.🤔

3:41 why didnt white just munch that pawn on e6? It also opens up the queen's diagonal to the black king. So black cant afford to make any silly moves or the rook on c6 will fall with a double check. Any checks by the black queen on the diagonal can also be blocked by the rook capturing the e6 pawn with a discovered check by the queen. It's just another free pawn..

@@switchblad333I don't like playing bullet, since I can't think that fast. The main flaw in my chess has always been moving too fast, so I've focused on slowing down and looking more closely at the position. But yeah, it seemed obvious to me, as well.

I am pretty sure they saw Ne5, I saw it too. What I didn't see was the continuation with the pawns cutting off the Queens defense of the Rook and winning a bishop. Which is where that line wins.

Hey Agad! I'm a beginner at chess, I played a few games the other day against a guy who had the strangest opening I've seen. I played white and It went e4-e5, Nf3-Qf6, Nc3-Qb6, Nxe5-Qxf2+?!?.. in all honesty I lost the first game I was too destabilized I blundered non stop..won the other games tho ;).. Can you explain this opening and better yet, find a game where this opening has been use.? Thanks! Edit: Seriously... no one can help me....:/
