Former MLB pitchers Dan Plesac, Pedro Martinez and John Smoltz take to Studio 42 at MLB Network to discuss the importance of positioning on the mound on MLB Tonight
Jesus Is King.!!! Jesus Loves You❤.!!! John 14:6 King James Bible Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me..!!! Follow Jesus Take The Narrow Path.!!!!!!!!😊
as a guy who didn't grow up somewhere near a baseball it's so fascinating to me how much thinking goes into every detail of this game. it's so interesting what the mlb network experts have to say - but also listening to current players like trevor bauer's vlog etc :-O
Dude, Pedro Martinez is such an iconic person. And this is coming from a life long Yankee from who’s from NY. Those Yankee vs. Red Sox games back in the early and mid 2000’s were LEGENDARY. You knew when Boston was coming to town and you knew which game Pedro was starting. There’s no greater feeling then being at old Yankee Stadium watching a Red Sox vs Yankees game and hearing the crowd boo the hell out of Pedro when his name is announced. The “Who’s Your Daddy?” chant still gives me chills whenever I think about it…
yea his arm or elbow is gonna blow up soon. its already starting. dude just keeps throwing harder and harder every year with the same body type its wild.
@@jamescarpenter855 yea degrom has a pocketed curveball he hasn’t used in a while that would be nasty in later years. Might also develop a cut fast ball
You just never think you will be able to live growing up to watch such a legend in his prime. I am so glad I was a Red Sox fan before he was there and then get the excitement when he came.
I do remember those early Expos days where you were never sure if he was going to strike out the side or walk the bases loaded. Or start a fight.... One of my favorites ever.
The old Dodgers pitching philosophy. Drop and drive and hook the rubber. Stripling and Kersh talked about Koufax showing them that too in a podcast that came out today. Although they couldn't replicate it.
Pedro and Ramon Martinez even Pedro Astacio all had that what I call "The Dominican arm release" I was wondering if they were all taught by the same pitching coach back home growing up.
Smoltz, Pedro talking pitching technique's??? Are you f'ing kidding me??? I'd watch hours of watching & listening to there 2 LEGEND'S. Weirdest trade ever, in '87 the Tigers send minor leaguer Smoltz to the Braves for Doyle Alexander. Tigers win division on last day of season w/Alexander going 9-0 in 11 starts. Smoltz was okay too
Pedro learned it after signing as a free agent rookie with Dodgers, around 16 or 17 years old. Arod was born in USA, the typical bilingual who speaks Spanish at home and English at school. Those masters English better.
I am so lucky to have seen these guys pitch but I feel best being able to call plesac and Pedro phillies. Even for that short period of time they are still part of the Phillies family.
I saw the other day a comparison between Jacob deGrom and Pedro and their numbers are quite similar, it means deGrom will go down as one of the best pitchers EVER.
They're astonishingly similar in terms of mechanics too, especially for two pitchers with such different body types. All deGrom needs to make it is to stay healthy and last, the quality is already there.
DeGrom isnt gonna last much longer I dont think. The little nagging injuroes are popling up. Where theres smoke theres fire. Hes Kyle Hendricks body type throwing 12-14 mph harder.....and keeps ADDING year by year. Its not sustainable. He got pulled just last night after being pulled again 2 starts before that after having other inflammation problems early in the year. You get inflammation, subconsciously change mechanics, then inflame some other new area.....next after that is the full blowout. Even though their mechanics are wildly different I cant help but think of Tim Lincecum and hope DeGrom ends better.
In little league, I would kick dirt on the mound and cover it up. Then stand a few feet in front of the mound. No one ever noticed. Didn't help much, my fastball was not exactly fast.
Man it'd be hilarious if someone threw pedro a beer while demonstrating where he stands on the mound, shotgunned the beer, then whipped the beer at one of the others told them to f off, then left using continued profanity.
He should be held accountable for is his illegal racing only! Cameron spent 24 years in jail. Do you have any idea what will happen to him when he will get out of jail ?? The amount of sorrow in his heart for an accident that will stay in his brain forever Who said that two souls had gone in the accident ??, actually three souls had gone, Cameron died in that accident, now he is just a body his smile had been buried in that accident. This child had suffered a lot and he still suffering from all these things. So don't kill him again in this injustice, it's not fair please try to understand! This kid needs to help Anyone, me, you all of us we don't have a guaranty that we won't live like what Cameron lives and still live in. For me even for my enemy, I wouldn't wish something like this to him, please try to put yourself in Cameron's place and see what he is living! a circle of sorrow and sadness His heart won't be able to fight all this💔
Pretty sure he’s going to say it depends on the hitters stance and what type of break he wants on a pitch. If you’re breaking in on the batter stand further away for the ball seems like it’s in the zone longer. If you’re breaking out stand in on him.
Pedro's fast ball intimidated any batter! On that mount, he brought many scarring moments to his opponents! Nobody knew what his next throw would be. He struckout thousands of batters and made them out of frustration cursed him out on their way to the dugout. A curve? A slider? A changeup or a fast ball? You guess...⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️
Played t ball and baseball as a kid. Didn't like the high school baseball team and their general demeanor towards other people. I viewed it as a "clique" sport different from football, basketball, wrestlers, and the like. Instead of baseball I did track, and that shit sucked. This makes me wish I just played baseball and stayed in my lane, not feeding into the high school baseball douche bag persona.
