One of the best ways to fix your gut is to do some extended fasting and use home made probiotics. Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time and telomeres are lengthened, which also helps with lung fibrosis. Fasting increases nitric oxide. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' that is not supposed to be there. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles as much as 1/3 of all immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire immune system. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Fasting increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors! Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. Weight loss from fasting only loses10% lean tissue and 90% fat compared to the typical 25% lean tissue and 75% fat lost when calorically restricting for long periods. The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast, though if the amount is tiny you will go back into ketosis very quickly. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many medications are dangerous to take while fasting so you may have to talk to your dr. about discontinuing them during a fast. Fasts of several days will not affect short term female fertility and may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone and helps build muscle by increasing insulin sensitivity! The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, your body always runs mainly on fat except for brief periods of very intense exercise. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses. Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which also help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. Ketones also provide an additional energy source during infection, which is critical when trying to fight off a bug. In fact you can have as much as three times the total energy available in your blood when you are in deep ketosis, or even more. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention! When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells. This kills these cells off completely. Senescent cells are responsible for the effects of aging and are the root cause of the development of cancer. If it were possible to destroy them all it would completely stop aging and cancer. That is not possible but fasting can help limit these effects by killing off many of the affected cells and limiting the future effects of aging. Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, helping a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting. Fasting also increases telomere length A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and under 18 g of carb. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice. Thank you for your research and all your info. Fasting is the one thing that makes me feel better. Giving myself a break from food for 72 hours is like going to a spa only it doesn't cost anything. 😊
All the stuff he is reporting is old news! Seriously There are real experts that are real scientists that have much more innovative information than this. Shop around and it’s all Free
Excellent discussion Dr. Jamnadas. I love your content. A great teaching in all of life is that Everything is Connected. It's a tragedy that we in modern society live and raise our kids disassociated from nature and natural processes. Such is the hubris of mankind.
Dr. Your message is crystal clear that will protect many lives from diseases. I have psoriasis since 20 years and no one has right answer but doctors talk on medicines with diet that hard to understand. Precious knowledge sharing is eye opener. Thank you for your efforts for social impact.
This man saved me from type 2 DM . I heard him talking about the benefits of fasting and how it is good for people with 2 type DM because he spoke about Doctor Fung Jason. From there I learned how starve the moster diabetes now I am not longer diabetic. I thank God for leading to his RU-vid channel.
The studies in autism is going to be a game changer! Guaranteed! Moms having C sections and moms getting antibiotics right before giving birth keeps babies from receiving the needed bacteria from the moms vaginal canal… they are actually soaking gauze in moms birth canal who must have c sections and wiping the babies entire body, mouth, nose, eyes and ears. Breastfeeding also provides these needed bacteria for the babies gut! My daughter had antibiotics 3-4 days before giving birth and my grandson is autistic. I am now just learning to make yogurt with the needed bacteria to help build his gut bacteria. Moms should take the bacteria “infantis” the last trimester and even add to formula if nursing isn’t an option. Also! Stop making kids”germ free”… let them play in the dirt… play with animals! Walk barefoot! We’ve ruined our micro biome! Thoughts!
Wow! Where to find more on the birth-prep microbial changes? Fascinating. Women are so complicated (hormonally speaking, which probably is key a factor ;^). Mindy Pelz has an interesting book that does a fantastic job explaining women's hormones, diet, and fasting: Fast Like a Girl, but does not talk about how they change the microbiome.
Thank you so much Dr. J. I literally consider you as my doctor lol I reference your videos to my family and say, “My RU-vid doctor said..” ☀️ The algorithm knew I needed this information 😭 thank you for your commitment 🙏🏾
Okay well you may not believe in evolution but we're learning more than we ever have in just a small amount of time by understanding how this whole puzzle fits together. If we understand more about how we got here and how we have advanced or evolved, then going forward we have an advantage to correct the mistakes that were made in the past.
Wow, amazing... Intelligent Design... I've been watching your videos, and Dr Pradip, I think you are divinely gifted. By the way I like your new short videos series... fantastic. Thank you.
Antibiotics are given in animal feed and may reduce the longertern productivity of sheep cattle etc and may affect the formation of valuable components of meat in our diets.
Thanks to our woke education system... We're going to teach doctors about the colors of the rainbow, and how not to offend people instead of what this genius is doing!
'You may live longer, but...' Probably not. Our older, still living generation grew up in more natural, healthier conditions, so their average life span is high. Not so for the younger generation. Will be effective later.
As a C-section baby, I am in my early 30s with a whole host of health conditions such as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and prediabetes, I hope fmt takes off and becomes cheap so I can get a transplant from someone healthier and fix my microbiome. I recently cut all preservatives from my diet and that has made a huge difference.
Thank you so much there is so much so much truth here. I wish people understood the direct analog between the human microbiome in the gut in the soil, they serve the exact same function and and there's a feedback loop present destroy the microbiome in the soil you destroyed the plants ability to function optimally thus wreaking Havoc everything up the food chain. If the plant can't produce primary secondary and tertiary metabolites it can't serve as proper food for the various species including us. Thank you so much for everything you are doing I am loving all of this content.
Check out the RU-vid video by Paul Mason on fiber. As he and other Carnivore docs have explained, only a small amount of fiber is used by the gut microbes to make short chain fatty acids, which is butyrate. Butyrate is produced as fuel when we are using fat ( ketones) as fuel. Therefore we dont need fiber unless you are eating carbs all day long. I have been Carnivore for a few months and my guts have never been happier. No more constipation, bloating, gas, and hemorrhoids.
@@sauravmodak507 so is it advisable to take probiotics after a course of antibiotics or not? I was advised to take some probiotics after taking some antibiotics…
My favorite doc . .. I started taking vitamin k2:200mcg..... 200:mcg magnesium plus 5000 vitamin d3...... This is after realizing I have a problem in my heart..... Chest pains short of breath.. plus all signs of clogged arteries .... Av visited hospitals for now 5 months but I have never bn treated so I decided safe my life by taking the doze of those supplement..... When the first doze finished could not be able to get onother immediately.... N where I was diagnosed with Abit high pressure which is a new thing to mi. .. does this have anything to do with the supplements... Am 52 yrs a Kenyan in saudia... With all kind of limitations
Very educational video doc. I have been studying the microbiome for the past few years now. I've done a lot of experiments through diet and lifestyle. Done everything from fermentation of vegetables and kefir water. I have to say, that I found dark leafy greens is what our body needs for a clean source of energy through those short chain fatty acids. I also think we need animal proteins too. Whether it be land or sea. That being said. I'm pretty sure I have been able to construct a highly diverse microbiome. Now my question is this doc. I'm having a new born in a few weeks. I'm trying to convince my wife that fermenting mother's milk with milk kifer grains is that way to go. Reason being is the bio availability is where it's at. Please tell me doc am I wrong for wanting my baby to uptake as much nutrition and beneficial microbes as possible?🤔
I am from India. Shareing one the age old knowledge not written any where but passed from generations to generations. After my child birth my mom said that the child who has loose motion for first 3 months of his birth will never have stomach upset and digestion problems throughout their life. The same is true in my child. My child has now grown up to a man of 25years old with very few instances of stomach problem. Now I understand the cause behind it. So many diverse good bacteria r colonizing the gut of the baby!! Thank u very much Dr for enlightening us.
Great presentation Dr Padrip! Trying to take in fiber and sauerkraut to build good gut bacteria. Would you suggest a probiotic supplement and which one? I limit dairy, so yogurt and kefir are not a natural food source.
Try natto and fermented carrots, green beans, etc. Natto was touted as being the most unpalatable of fermented foods. I found it easy to eat from the first taste and it simply disappears in my salads. It is horribly overpackaged, so am hoping to make my own.
Good quality Kefir and yoghurt are both FERMENTED sources of dairy so are indeed v beneficial for the gut . As long as they r natural , no added sugars, flavours , preservatives or additives . Kefir has more beneficial bacteria than yog . Dr J has recommended kefir before . He talks a lot ab the importance of pre, pro and post biotics ....the latter being the all imp gut microbiome . Kefir is excellent for gut
I will be avoiding it from now on (am age 64). If eating plenty of fiber/healthy food and no obvious problems, and no constipation . . . well, for me it is a problem that is extremely unlikely that colon cancer will be my nemesis. (Men, sedentary, overweight, McDonald's eating, beer drinking etc etc . . . that is not me)
When our children were very young, like "brand new", my wife would say that their breath was sweet. And then as they grew it was not so sweet, until it became ... well ... you know. So that maybe ... corresponds to the propagation of bacteria?
Even our intracellular organelles known as mitochondria, which we depend on to supply the energy that maintains human life, were independent organisms at one time. They still have their own DNA, which is separate from the DNA in our nucleus.
Wonderful info to share with folks. Perhaps a video on how folks born as c-section babies and has early life antibiotic exposure, can heal their guts as adults. That would be great.
Dr. So if I took long courses of antibiotics and wipe out my gut bacteria. 😢 how could I rebuild my gut bacteria back if most of it if not all of my gut bacteria got wiped out with antibiotics could I get my health back . What recommendations would you suggest. That’s my situation 😢
Dr. You are the best at explaining and making it understanding what we need to be healthy. You look amazing and I will follow your life style to T😂😂 if I could live without sweets. This darn sweet tooth and family members don’t help.
If only more doctors would have the: Knowledge, insights and communication method of Dr. Jamnadas. Prevention should be the pillar healthcard is built on. Yet it is almost fully ignored
I’m curious when you talk about when children are born in the process of going through the birth canal. Additionally, if a child had to be put on antibiotics at a young age. I was a C-section baby. I was born one month early 1962, over 8 lbs.. I was given three blood transfusions at birth. Up to about the age of 8- 9 years old I would constantly get nausea and physically sick From some foods. If I ate something that didn’t sit well with me, it would come back up. I’ve always had a sensitive stomach, very sensitive. I would additionally get carsick. To this day I have issues. Yes life stress all of that. Definitely knocks me for a loop as it does the rest of us. I guess my question would be from the time of being born with the blood transfusions and I’m not sure if I was ever put on antibiotics. My mother was highly against them, would that be a catalyst so to speak for the stomach issues I have? It’s been a lifetime event .
Great video! I am keen on getting your advice wrt my recent lipids test results: TC 273 HDL 59 TG 58 LDL 208 TG/HDL Ratio 1.0 I take medication for hypertension and am suspected of having Familial Hypercholesterolemia (have corneal arcus, so it seems). Quit Statins 3 months ago. I do intermittent fasting 18:6 every day for 2 months. Have lost about 10kg. BMI of 20-21. Performed an Ankle Brachial Index DIY with a score of 1.5. I will really appreciate your advice Dr. Your lifesaving videos have served as my health guide these past months.
Well as far as I can tell we don't have the capability to even fathom the reality of what God is. We can describe from our own experiences... If you say nothing from nothing, there is no such thing as nothing... Nothing is a word for something that you just can't explain.
You never get to see him in his office. He uses his assistants and none of these is addressed by them. Nothing holistic is addressed only meds & meds & meds!!!
So, the PPIs I've been on for 45 years have caused my atherosclerosis. Now, I learn that it also interferes with the gut biome. Just had a CAC test 1749.....I'm a walking time bomb. I've always exercised and ate well. My BMI is 21
so carbohydrate’s are not causing insulin resistance? how do carnivore’s have such good health (0 fibre) i think you need to understand that the #1 cause is consuming excess foods (mostly carbohydrates) Carnivore actually works but because it’s the ultimate elimination diet and it prove ee can thrive on meat alone. everything else is optional.
i heard there are many people that tried carnivore diet and had health issues (electrolyte issues or liver damage) like james dinicolantonio and frank tufano. currently the youngest person at age 56 is chuando tan and he posted his diet. its not carnivore. also many people that have done carnivore diet for long period of time look much older than their age. just look at people like shawn baker and anthony chaffee. i dont believe meat is bad specifically but it could be that chicken and eggs are better than eating lots of red meat like they do.
What can be done if a baby had to take antiobiotics just after birth because an infection of the mother? My grandson is now 6 months old and now i'm worried a lot. Greetings from Germany! Your informations in your videos are great!! Thank you!
I was in tears seeing the kindness of mother nature inside my body, i responded brilliantly to fasting. Series of problems just vanished. I believe everyone should fast in some capacity. There is nothing wrong with our health, just that capitalism has destroyed it.
Dr. J, respectfully, About so much, you are spot on correct and you are a wonderful doctor, but there is one thing that you are wrong about and that is that we humans have been wonderfully and fearfully made by God. He created us on the sixth day in His image. I want you to know that I thank God for you as you are a life saver to so many. I pray a blessing over you, that your eyes will be opened to know the truth about creation and the salvation of mankind.❤ Thank you for all that you have done and are doing. You are a blessing to us all.
