Oh my goodness you do this very very well! I am a white woman who grew up around a lot of African Americans and found them braiding and seeing it- I loved it so eventually having daughters I started to learn just basic braiding - no extensions just regular stuff like French and corn rows and updos , etc. and then I got curious about box braids and feed in . So i finally practiced enough that I did a pretty decent full head of box braids which I was proud of on my niece . So I’ve been asked to do feed in braids many times and I still have to decline because I don’t feel confident enough about it . Anyway , if you could do a close up on finger placement for feed in and just super detailed ... honestly you do really well in your teaching . It’s a skill you have , in case you weren’t aware that you have that. You teach very very well and up until now I have been going to a couple other RU-vidrs who also teach well. But, in your account I see questions and answers to things that I have searched for and haven’t really found the answer to in any other video. So, yeah. Being a white woman trying to learn how to do these African-American styles that are very uncommon in the white community (with the exception of French braids, but feeding in hair to that is a different thing as we all know ! It’s a skill you have to continually practice and finger placement has been the key to my personal learning .thank you!!
So then if someone is getting smaller Box braids then tucking isn’t gonna work like that well? Cuz I be trying like heck to tuck the ends we’ll AND I know in theory how to do it and at times I succeeded but the issue is the smaller the braid the less I can do it ... help !
TESTIMONY: I am self taught and have had my business Cultured Roots for almost a year in Montana! The biggest lesson I have learned from you is knotless technique. You explained it so well and concise and that made it so easy to remember while practicing. Now I have a new revenue stream and I can't wait to continue learning.
That is so inspiring to hear! I’m so glad you this skill as added value and revenue your business. I think I’m already following you on IG 😅. Keep up the great work! 🙌🏽
I clicked on one video to do spring twists and now I've watched, parting, tucking, braids on yourself. I'm going down a rabbit hole. You're very good at explaining, very meticulous.
You always making braiding like satisfying and easy when you are doing your own hair. Braiding or even twisting my hair is a chore. But I love the fact that I can do it and I continue to improve bc of you. THANKS A BILLION. YOU ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!💯👍🌹🌹🎉🍾
I justvwant to say thank you for these videos🙏..I have u year old TRIPLET girls❤❤❤...and i got so tired of paying to get their hair braided ...but I ordered me a wig head like you have and Im learning off your videos...THANK YOU FOR BEING SO SELFLESS!
Triplets!? 😩😍💗 3x the cuteness!...but I understand it's also 3x the money and time for everything else. God bless you, your little ladies, and your braiding abilities!
Blessings to you Mrs Vandy, I've been having a problem gripping from the root for soooooo long, I've tried techniques from other channels but they didn't seem to work. Whilst attempting to take another try at braiding my daughter's hair I came across your video in time to ease my frustration of not getting it. I will continue to practice to perfect it. One thing I realize is that some come out excellent while others don't. I think I need to relax and just press on. Thank you and God bless you. 🙌🏽
Thanks to your videos I am now able to braid my own hair. My aint liked my work so much that she asked me to braid her hair. It was different braiding on someone else but I did a pretty good job and she was happy with it. I need to work on my grip more and my parting but overall she was happy. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your channel! I've been playing your videos on repeat for a while because my daughter has been begging me for a long while to do some box braids on her. Her birthday is coming up and of course she wanted some BRIGHT RED hair mixed in her style *smacks forehead*. Though it took me a significant amount of time because I hadn't put in any practice prior, I have to say I was quite happy with the end result and she LOVED it. I did a great job with tucking and adding hair where needed to make the taper more gradual! Very proud of myself! Buying a mannequin head asap so I can get quicker.
It’s me trying to do better at braiding my hair so im watching all your videos!! I actually subscribed 1 minute into watching my first video!! You’re definitely the truth💜
💃💃💃I love the thumbnail. Thank you for more detailed information. Everything is clear and we're able to see the hair in between your fingers. Thank you I appreciate this tutorial. 💃💃💃
Lol the hardest part is splitting the hair and still making sure the braid come out tight and not loose. I did box braids on my hair last week and had to do about 5 braids over
HELP! I am a lefty and all of my life have braided overhand (if that makes sense). All of the tutorials I see are for the traditional underhand braiding and I cannot get it at all! It’s frustrating because my backwards hands refuse to comply. Can you help me with a video that shows overhand braiding? Is this even a thing with braiding? I am learning so much from you and appreciate your knowledge. Thank you.
New Subscriber!!! OMG!! hands down THE BEST BRAIDING CHANNEL! I wish I found you years ago when I was first learning. Your teaching is soooo clear and easy to follow. WOW. I love watching your videos for ways I can improve. Thank you so much.
The video happened to pop up in my video feed. And whenever I watch people braids honor videos I can never get what they're doing. Here you show it very close slowly I'm explaining it very carefully very well done thank you so much. And I found a video very satisfying and relaxing and I especially when you did the last two braids on your own hair you have very pretty hair and I'm thinking that you're adding weave to your hair but I said oh no that's all her hair the color is so pretty. But do you have a tutorial where you add hair to the braids? because my hair is not your left it only comes down to like my neck.

Can you do a video on how to cut and separate the braid hair for different sizes. Example medium mid back box braid how would u cut the regular expression hair to get mid back and to get it medium size, please and thank you. Your videos have helped me so much i love you you're blessed ❤️
Yes can u please that's my problem I don't know how to determine how much fake hair to use for each braid. My braid sizes be all over the place. I'm a beginner also.
OK got hair, and trying again. watched 8 ways to start a box braid. Hook knot method for fine caucasian hair. Thats my daughter and not a lot of it either. Im ok at this method certainly not a pro. ONE question is it better in dry hair? I coconut oil her hair as she has no natural oils. Should I shampoo but not condition. Or should I do it on her hair once its not so slippery/dry hair. If I stop coconut oiling her hair and just let it go back to normal would this be better.
😂😂😂😂 I felt personally attacked by that title. HOW'DYA KNOW? Edit: When I try to braid my own hair, particularly the back, I have a terrible time of keeping my braid facing the same way. Meaning, the face of the braid will twist in a slightly different direction from where it originally began and I end up with a twisty mess of a braid. Any tips? Or is this a normal part of diy braids?
I’m gonna get a training mannequin I’m just not getting it my hair is so long I be tangling my hair and dropping the extensions I use to cornrow good but it’s been awhile and the box braids and knotless is what I’m working on 🤷♀️
Hi I'm interested in learning how to braid I notice that I'm over handed and my husband want me to learn how to braid cornrows can you help me? No add on
