Where Exactly is Ooo? Adventure Time Land of Ooo Origin Theory 

I choose to believe that Ooo is like Pangaea and all the continents mashed together some how

In the episode "Angel Face" when BMO is singing their song about being a cowboy, the arm and torch of the Statue Of Liberty can be seen in the desert. Personally, I think this is proof that it takes place in the Western United States, as there is a mini version of the statue in Los Vegas.

I always assumed it was a new super continent like the earth had originally after the nuclear apocalypse the world re shifted itself

I always thought that the explosion that took a chunk out of the earth caused the continents to shift ridiculously fast and form a new Pangea.

Well, one solid thing we have is that it’s not Egypt, that’s where Charlie lives and she had to use her power to get there

The Land of Ooo is my absolute dream to live. What made me in love with the show was exactly the fantasies and adventures. I will miss that.

I have a theory that Simon and Betty are both Czech. They both have Czech surnames and the architecture outside the window in Simon’s VHS tapes resembles the streets in Prague (though I don’t know much about architecture so I might be wrong). This might contribute to the Eastern Europe theory, but not necessarily as Simon could have gotten displaced during the Mushroom War or travelled elsewhere (as the ruined city he finds Marcy in looks more like an American city).

There is a theory that explains all the german, american and japanese clues in the show. Ooo's past is the alternative reality of Philip K Dick's Man in the High Castle book, where the Axes won the WW2, and the USA is under strong Japanese and German influance. Sry for my speling.

Maybe PB learned German as she dated Marcie and we'll she is the vampire demon Queen and since all demons prefer speaking German well yeah

I think after the mushroom war some pieces of countries and continents floated together to make what’s left

I think the war caused interdimensional country shift inducing German and other eastern counstries to the Nightosphere, The Koreas and Japan to the Rainocorn dimension and OOO surroundings (The Islands) is a bunch of southern European countires because one of the islanders spoke Finnish.

Ooo looks like antartica warmed up from the mushroom war.

If going off the enchiridian map then Ooo isn't even Earth as Earth isn't believed to be that close to the center of our galaxy.

I think it's Poland. In that episode where we saw Simon's videodiary it looked to me like builings you would see in Poland Czechs or Ukraine.

And just thinking that Ooo is big like Uk is very strange, like that all we know about Adventure Time is just a small part of huge lands inhabited by other magical creatures or humans. I need more Adventure Time :P

The theory of Ooo being all the mentioned places combined does somewhat hold up because of all the details in the video.

Look at the car simon places Marceline in in the episode "Simon and Marcy" the steering wheel is on the left side of the vehicle. Only a few countries have cars like that. Plus add on the Los Angeles like city, it's most likely in Post-War United States.

I thought it could be The Land of Oz like from the book, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. But just evolved or shifted around and modernized. the candy land could be Munchkinland, the desert part could be The Deadly Desert The Ice parts could be the Gnome King's Mountain. the city ruins could be the Emerald City. The grey parts could be the Wicked Witch Of The West's Territory and so forth.

I've always believed ooo was in fact in the United States. Seeing how in one episode I was watching when BMO was pretending to be a cowboy with Jake as the horse they were crossing that giant desert with those stacked rocks. When BMO starts singing in the backround I swear to the good Lord I saw the statue of liberty. Not all of it. The arm reaching up holding the torch is all you can see. I freaked XD

the world map of earth in adventure time didnt changed after the mushroom war. In adventure time: distant lands, there is a moment where the earth is shown receiving 2 bombs and an explosion which causes the giant hole, and moments before the 2 bombs, you can see that the continents didnt changed so basically, the earth of adventure time isnt the same as our earth

Well, I think it's pretty clear that Simon originally lived in Boston, and the Lich's well is the New York subway... So basically the north eastern United States.

I like to believe Ooo is a Pangea formed from parts of the USA, at least, in present time of AT. In the Desert of Doom, a huge torch juts out from the sands that eerily resemble the one from the Statue of Liberty.

Well, we know that it's somewhere close to the North Pole, because remember Finn and Jake had that party on the roof of their house, and they were watching the Aurora Borealis? (Northern Lights) during the first or second season. Thats a big giveaway. It could be Greenland or Iceland, based on the shapes of those islands, and their northern location, but that's just my guess.

The location of Ooo was kinda revealed in a blink and you'll miss it explorer journal recount in the episode Friends Forever, basically it's the British Isles and Ireland.

How did she not see Ooo when fin takes magic mans teleporter to Mars? Looks devasted from something, and has a huge hole in it.

It you look closely at the inhabitants like demons, goblins, sea lards, exploding mole people and mermaids then it becomes quite obvious that it's set in Florida

I think that the AT Earth is different from our Earth. So there may be things like Japanese writing or the Golden Gate Bridge, but there is no Japan or USA. Plus, tectonic drift would not explain things as Ooo is about 1000 years into the future from what looks around modern day. This means that the tectonic plates would not have enough time to move as they only move about a 1cm on average a year.

As an Arizonan I can say that the license plate was not an Arizona license plate, our license plates have mountains on them and also about the drug thing I can say that’s accurate, it’s like fucking Mad Max out here

well we know about where africa is since charlie lives in a pyramid in egypt, and if we use that scene of her her walking across the earth in her ghostly stretchy form we will likely find some more concrete answers

It does not matter, over such a long time after an apocalyptic war continents would be reshaped, water levels would rise and lot of new land and tectonic anomalies would also be caused by the massive hole on the earth, it is likely just fragments of many different placrs and new land

If Ooo is a Pangaea, then magic greatly accelerated tectonic shifting of the Earth because the next geological instance of Pangaea, Pangaea Ultima, will occur in roughly half a billion years, but it has been only a thousand years since the mushroom war, so either magic messed shit up, or Ooo is only a small island

My theory is that ooo is a island combined of several parts of countries and also, seeing this on my reccomendation made me go "ooo"

Pangea is most likely. In the Islands mini series they find this old lady, who speaks swedish. Then, the Gum creatures that speak German, some Japanese and Korean stuff going on in Ooo, there you go, Pangea.

I think Ooo is somewhere in Europe, maybe somewhere between Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium. Finn is btw Dutch/Scandinavian. Cuz his surname comes from the Dutch name “Martens”. And he looks very scandinavian. And PB is talking German, so her she is actually from Germany. And i think the great Mushroom war was between countries like North Korea and America, thats why you can see sometime korean signs and Lady is talking Korean.

I dont know if this is canon, but there was a crossover with adventure time and regular show, and (spoiler) ice king found that the city marcy and him survived in was the city regular show takes place in, so if we know where regular show is then we should know where Ooo is. (Btw idk if regular show has said where it takes place)

I kinda think its somewhere close to Rome because in one of the episodes Finn and Jake visit the colosseum and there's a lot of Latin in that episode which is what the ancient Romans spoke. There's also gay gladiator ghosts and a lot of the gladiators were forced to do homosexual acts. But at the same time, the theory about California and Arizona makes sense. But at the same same time time, I feel like the impact of the nuclear explosion caused a continental drift which merged different countries together which is why there are cultural references from many completely different parts of the world.

I think that Ooo is a mix of various continents, but if you pay attention to the episode Angel Face, we see BMO and Jake pass what appears to be a statue arm holding a torch. *cough statue of liberty *cough* *cough* *cough*

At the end you said ooo could be a version of Pangaea Ultima but 2000 years isn’t long enough

I knew where it is when I watched Oorgolorg there was a scene showing a beam coming out of earth and it originated from east of Matigascar also ooo is in the crater.

Theory: The land of Ooo is a mix of Europe, Russia, and the US. And either before, during, or after the war, meteor hit earth and made new continental shift that made the Land of Ooo.

Maybe it is a supercontinent , looking at the map. The top left being Europe, the icy north scandinavia and Russia, those island in the bottom left the phillipines or japan, and the southern deserts being China, India and the middle east

Plate tectonics is what so it could be all of them just like all the lands.

I think that Ooo is in the state of Washington and the area that Finn and Jake live in is near Seattle because sometimes when they venture really far they come across a city that looks like a destroyed Seattle and I know it's Seattle because there's something there that looks like the Space Needle and it's gloomy.

ooo is the main hawaii island and the human islands are the other smaller islands, the mushroom war happens a few hundred years from now and hawaii has been turned into a city. plate tectonics probably moved them apart

the humans are swedish. the old woman on the island speaks swedish, the toy store is named "leksaker" which is toys in swedish. Maybe Ooo is sweden? Or the islands from the islands miniseries is.

I one time dreamed and thought i fould the land of ooo but that land was Texas than i saw a land i never seen before it looked like the island next to ooo and i thought it was ooo but when i looked in the map it was just a random island that look nothing like ooo

I think it could be Svalbard Archipelago and the explosion witch made this giant hole on Earth created also made Svalbard islands mashed together and turned by 180 degrees. That's a bit crazy but explains a lot.

id like to think the u.s and Canada was like Pangea and it merged together more so not as many of the great lakes/ ponds and bodies of water are there like they used to be. especially when the great mushroom war episodes that say states like California and san Francisco. so maybe where the great plains are idk.
