Not all of Queen's music is like this. They were a band that was all over the place. Their music was VERY diversified. You have to listen to at least 10 of their songs to get a good idea of how differenty they were and how different their songs were. Start with Boheimian Rhapsody from their 1975 album A Night at the Opera. The song and album is rock opera.
Ecstasy was invented, it just wasn’t as wide spread as in the 90’s and it wasn’t known by the name ecstasy, it was known by its chemical name, it had a brief medical history prescribed as a appetite suppressant, look it up.
You need to watch the official video of Bohemian Rhapsody and the live version of Somebody to love from Montreal in 1981. This song was also rated the happiest song of all time❤😂
Even if you think you`ve never heard Queen, you HAVE. There`s no way you have never heard We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions or Another One Bites the Dust. These songs are EVERYWHERE.
Not necessarily. This is about Freddie living the rock star life - sex, drugs (not ecstasy, likely coke) etc. Luckily he never overdid the drugs so it didn't become a problem for him or the band. The party phase did concern the other band members, who did not partake at the same level.
@@JanS1 you really don’t have a clue . Yes Freddie loved his Stoli vodka, Ecstasy and Coke. Yes the other boys did partake . Where do you get your information ? Some people happen to have been there.
About the lead guitarist, Brian May. Sir Brian May. Dr. Sir Brian May. He's been knighted, he has a doctorate in astrophysics (yes, he's an ACTUAL rocket scientist), and the guitar he's playing was made by Brian and his Dad when he was a teenager. And Queen's music is incredibly diverse.
Nice reaction! I would suggest "Love Of My Life" from Wembley 1986, "Somebody To Love" from Montreal 1981, and "White Queen" from the Odeon Hammersmith (1975 I believe) as good places to start. You cannot fit Queen into a box - they were amazing and diverse in their music. Each member of the band wrote songs and all of them wrote #1 hits (the only band to accomplish this, I believe). How good were they? They belong on the Mount Rushmore of bands imo!
@@davidmacfarlane1763I was going to say that. I love this song. It’s my favourite. Love when the lights come on & then when Roger does that drum piece. Don’t know what it’s called.
I'm calling you out. You lied about hearing Queens music, you just don't know you lied. I know for a fact you have heard at least two of their songs, and sung along to tnem. 1) We Will Rock You - written by the lead guitarist and vocalist Sir Brian May PhD. 2) We Are The Champions - written by the lead singer and pianist Freddie Mercury. Yes, those legendary anthems were written and performed by Queen! Others you may have heard of are - I Want It All, Another One Bites Tne Dust ( written by the bassist John Deacon), Under Pressure, whose legendary bass line was stolen without permission by vanilla ice (he lost in court over it btw), Crazy Little Thing Called Love. Also Lady Gaga named herself after the Quen song Radio Ga Ga - written by the drummer and vocalist Roger Taylor. Queen is one of the most diverse groups musically, although predominantly a rock band, their music covers many genres. From hard Rock - Stone Cold Crazy, Dead On Time. To music hall (aka vaudeville) - Seaside Rendezvous. From Diss tracks - Death On Two Legs, Flick Of The Wrist. To Love songs - Love Of My Life, You Take My Breath Away, and everything in between. There was nothing the band couldn't play and Freddie couldn't sing. As you can see above, they all wrote hit songs and as you will see, they are one of those rare bands that are even better live. Remember, their was no autotune back then, they got by on pure talent. They all played multiple instruments (I've only listed their main instruments above). They were very prolific in their songwriting/albums, so you have hundreds of studio songs, plus live performances to choose from and asking a Queen fan to choose their favourite song is like asking the impossible, it depends on the day, mood you are in, they have a song for everything. Welcome to the Queen rabbit hole my friend ....... have fun!
White Queen …dragon attack….bohemian rhapsody….all amazing always listen to queen live if you can!! I’m an old lady now but loved Queen all my life!! You will never be disappointed so good to see you youngsters appreciating great music!! Can’t wait to see your reactions?🎼❤️🎼🇬🇧🇬🇧
Just found your channel 60yr old grandad here it's a joy to watch younger generation appreciate older music But it works both ways. Thank you for introducing me to Conan Gray kinda like Billie Eilish 100% agree with comments in Pink Floyd videos. Your ability to get the meaning of song is impressive. So subscribed to follow you on your musical journey. Your channel will definitely grow keep it up.
So many great Queen songs! Some suggestions, Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Fat Bottom Girls and Bicycle Race and just a few. Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie is an amazing song too, definitely check that one out!
Queen was an unbelievable band each member could sing and they were masters at there craft. Queen was the greatest band of all time. And what to say about Freddie there will never be another Freddie his vocals , stage present are unmatched he was one of a kind they were so ahead of there time in so many aspects. There music is timeless and will live forever!. React to queen at live aid 20min set which was the greatest set in rock history the stole the show at live aid. Queens catalog is huge and you are just getting started. Keep going down the queen rabbit hole you will be shocked at how many rock changing hits they created. R.I.P FREDDY WE MISS YOU. WE HEAR YOU SINGING FROM HEAVEN
I totaly agree! They have lots of albums and there is not one song who is just a filler. Each song is worth to listen! There is barley any other band who has this quality!
@@4721lynnRoger Taylor sings backing vocals and sometimes lead vocals. Brian May also sings backing vocals and sometimes lead vocals. John Deacon on Bass.
@@79BlackRose It probably depends on who does the research 😄. In 2019/2020 a list came out supposedly by a neurological research which ranked Don’t Stop Me Now as #1, but I also read another one that mentioned Blue Sky later on. 🤷♀️
The only band where each member wrote at least one hit song. In Rio this band played to over 350,000 people. All 4 were highly educated and all were masters of their own instruments. They played many styles, jazz (Dreamers ball), blues (Melancholy blues), R&R (Breakthru), heavy metal (Liar, Hammer to fall, Dragon attack), gospel (Let me live), folk ('39), waltz (Millionaire Waltz), vaudeville (Seaside Rendezvous), ballads (Love of my life), movie themes (from the "Highlander"), disco (Another one bites the dust, Cool cat), anthems (We are the champions, We will rock you), even operatic styles (Bohemian Rhapsody). At the Live Aid show in 1975 they stole the show from acts like Elton John, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Phil Collins and tons of big acts.
Some of their songs were anthems now and played on stadiums like "We are the Champions", "We Will Rock You", and "Another One Bites the Dust" but their most popular is "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals John Deacon - Bass guitar Queen is one of the most influential groups in music. They released 15 studio albums, 10 live albums, 16 compilation albums, two soundtrack albums, 2 extended plays, 73 singles, and seven promotional singles. All 4 members of Queen were amazing musicians, all 4 members composed songs, and all 4 had songs that became hits. They were 4 distinct men with different tastes and the music they produced reflected their differing tastes. Queen's catalog includes hard rock, soft rock, progressive rock, arena rock, alternative rock, thrash rock, rock and roll, pop, R&B, blues, jazz, soul, ballads, opers, folk, Gospel, and often mixed genres in a single song. Here is a list of 20 of Queen's hits: !. Bohemian Rhapsody 2. Under Pressure 3. We Will Rock You 4. We Are The Champions 5. Fat Bottom Girls 6. Killer Queen 7. Tie Your Mother Down 8. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 9. You're My Best Friend 10. Stone Cold Crazy 11. Another One Bites The Dust 12. Radio Ga Ga 13. Now I'm Here 14. I Want It All 15. Who Wants To Live Forever@@ 16. The guy on the guitar is sir Brian may. Yes he is knighted. He is an astrophysicist today. If you watch science shows he is one of the guys presenting. Imagine the talent of this guy
He was a PhD student in the early 1970s but abandoned his studies in 1974 when Queen became internationally successful. He resumed his studies in 2006 and completed his thesis in 2007, 37 years after he had started it (fortunately nobody had much studied that area in the intervening time, and it had become popular again in the 2000s!).
I grew up in the days when Queen were performing, but I never listened to much rock music Then in 2020 during Covid, I started watching RU-vid a lot and discovered live Queen performances. The energy of this group, and lead singer Freddie Mercury in particular, helped keep my spirits up through the worst of the Covid lockdown. Freddie gives out more energy in a 50-year old, low quality video than any of the current pop stars in super HD.
Scientists analyzed the music and the lyrics and declared it as the happiest song. No one can just sit and listen to it without a single smile. Yes, Freddie Mercury shouted out, that his life was wonderful, though he often felt himself very lonely. But when this feeling came in, he called up some friends and went to the bars and enjoyed the night life.
Another great awesome group to checkout are The BeeGees . My fave was " Too Much Heaven". Other songs by them: I started a joke, Massachusetts, for whom the bells toll, night fever, words, Fannie be tender with your love, and many more.
Freddy Mercury (RIP), is one of the Greatest Frontman of all time. Up with James Brown, M.J., Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, Janis Joplin, , SRV, Bradley Nowell(Sublime), Kurt Cobain, Ren, Zach De La Rocha(Rage Against The Machine), James Hetfield(Metallica)….ect.!!!
You've heard their songs, you just didn't know it. We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, Another One Bites The Dust, probably heard them at sporting events.😊
Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, Piano), Brian May (Lead guitar, keyboard), John Deacon (Bass, Double Bass) 6:43 , Roger Taylor (Drums). They all write, they have all written no.1's. They are 100% the best in the business. You need to listen to different songs to get a handle on how good they were. A starter kit to do that would be:- Bohemian Rhapsody, Another one bites the dust, We will rock you, Somebody to love, Crazy little thing called love, You're my best friend,Under Pressure,Gimme the prize, Princes of the Universe,Pain is so close to pleasure, A Kind of Magic,I want it all, Breakthru,Headlong, Innuendo, Show must go on, Mother Love. There most known hits are Bohemian Rhapsody,We will rock you,We are the Champions, Don't stop me now. All of their albums are amazing. Very diverse but always have that Queen sound. Freddie Mercury is the best Vocalist of all time.
Thanks, Dreezy.. such a fun song.. I'm sure you know many Queen songs, perhaps knowing that they are by Queen.. I appreciate your reaction.. and look forward to more..
Another great reaction! Check out under pressure or bohemian Rhapsody. They actually Collab with David Bowie on a version of under pressure. I absolutely know you will LOVE that song 😊
For me, there are two quite incredible things about Queen: 1. Freddy Mercury's voice, 2. the fact that Brian May (lead guitarist) is actually an astrophysics. :) (Btw. His version of "Too much love will kill you" is quite good, too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rNa5kRX45tg.html )
Ectacy is a word that describes a feeling and the drug named ecstacy is a infant in comparison. Basicly he is just singing about that feeling... not the drug.
Queen is number one lol and Freddie Mercury front man Brian May Lead Guitar John Deacy Bass and Roger Taylor Drums. Bohemian Rhapsody is their most famous and the first music video ever. Their live music is better than their studio recordings IMO and Live Aid is the best and considered the best live performance of all time. 1.5 billion people watched and that was 40% of the worlds population in 1985. There’s so much more to know. But also react to “Somebody to Love” live from Montreal 1981
Queen. Freddie Mercury called it that because it was a very strong and regal name (they're British.) Their number one hit is Bohemian Rhapsody. They have songs that are everywhere. Soft, loud, big, and small. Great band. Ranks 30th in the top 100 bands of all time (I disagree, they should rank much higher.)
Dr. Brian May (now SIR/Doctor Brian May. Knighted by King Charles in 2023): Lead guitar/back up vocals/piano sometimes. Dr of Astrophysics. Studied reflected light from interplanetary dust and the velocity of dust in the plane of the Solar System. Has worked with NASA. Made his guitar with his father when he was around 16/17. Was poor so used things around the house like a piece of a fireplace for the neck/mother’s buttons/knitting needle etc. It's called "The Red Special" Still plays it to this day. So yeah. That guitar you see is homemade! Roger Taylor: Drums/Amazing back up vocals. Has a BS in biology. Still rocking with Brian to this day. John Deacon: Bass guitar. Degree in Electronics. Inverter of the Deacy amp (which Brian uses to this day) Sadly John had a bit of a breakdown after Freddie's death and only performed with the rest of the band a 3 times after. He is, these days, only involved in the financial side through his attorney. He's been pretty much a recluse. And of course Freddie: Degree in Graphic design. Google "best rock front man of all time" I can save you the trouble. Most places the #1 answer is Freddie. Every member has written hit songs. All but John had singing talent where they could have had their own bands and been a success. Put them all together and you have QUEEN! (also all but John have done solo albums) Remember. NO auto tune. No tricks. Pure talent! You can't put Queen in a box as far as genre. There is no box!
Only a recluse from the public eye. Stills goes out and does normal stuff, a friend spotted him eating in a local restaurant with his wife. He was never the party one. Saying he's a recluse makes it sound like he stays at home all day.
@@MDreeezy But, seriously, I don't think it is even about that. It is about a guy with total exuberance for life. I guy who can't be held down and doesn't want anyone to try to hold him down. The kind of guy we need more of.
so this is a very erotic song all about being bisexual too. Freddie was very ahead of his time with the lyrics saying man and woman that he wanted to be with in the same song. Queen were the first to make a music video. Set records for the the hundreds of thousands of people at the live concerts and did the best live performance of all time in 1985 at Live Aid with literally 40% of the world’s population watching them. Love Love Love Queen. Freddie was the best. But Brian John and Roger were all very very talented also. They were a family and they made Rock history!!
That’s so funny...or sad...ecstasy?...a trip?......where did you go to school?......it means “a state of extreme happiness”....there! I’ve furthered your education😂
Others have suggested Queen's live "Somebody to Love" in Montreal, 1981. Here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aA2IRoPFIn0.html
If I remember correctly, their first album was a lot like hard rock. They made a lot of different genres. Bohemian rhapsody, Innuendo, Who wants to live forever, Love of my life, I want to break free just to hear something in various styles... Freddy is a great voice!
You'll be surprised with all their other songs too!! Just incredible. It was great when Freddie (lead singer/pianist/guitarist, you name it! Queen had a BRILLIANT video in 1985 at Wembly Stadium, lots of songs, just EXCELLENT. It's just so sad he died so young, 45 yrs old. This was due to aids & bronchial pneumonia. Very very sad. Just excellent - RIP Freddie 💔💔
He didn't want girls. And so you know, the band member names are Freddie Mercury, Brian May(guitar), John Decon(bass) and Roger Taylor(drums). Each member has degrees. Freddie had a degree in fashion. Sir Brian May is an astrophysicist, Roger Taylor, I believe has/had a degree in dentistry and John Decon has/had a degree in Electrical Engineering. Brian May was made Sir in the U.K a few years ago. He and Roger still tour as Queen +Adam Lambert. After Freddie died (Nov. 24, 1991), John Decon retired and withdrew from the public. He is still involved in Queens financial decisions but very quietly. He doesn't really interact with either Sir Brian or Roger.
Love this song!!! Great reaction! Me encanta cuando escuchan Queen por primera vez Other Queen Suggestions: - Innuendo (a very deep song) - Another one bites the dust (very rhythmic) - Who wants to live forever/official video (a sad and beautiful song) - Somebody to love /official video (amazing voices) - I want it all (very strong) - I want to break free - We are the champions - Save me - A kind of magic - You´re my best friend - Its a hard life - Live Aid 1985 full concert ¡Saludos, desde Argentina!
Haha, what did you just ask us "There are a few things I need to know: names, their most succesful songs, what they are most known for, what....". Man, do you have a few days? Because that's what it's gonna take to write all hat down 😂😂😂
I don't think they talk about the drug ecstasy. As far as I know the drug became popular later then 1979. Queen is of course No 1 in Rock Music ;). OK, there are some others who could also be number one, but no doubt Queen is in the top 10. In the usual top 10 lists they score between 2 and 5. Songs to listen: Bohemian Rhapsody We are the champions Somebody to love Crazy little thing called love Radio Gaga Fat bottomed girls Another one bites the dust Show Must go on And many others. But this would give you a good idea about how different the styles are.
Kinda gotta hear a bunch of Queen songs to get them - they were very different in their songwriting.❤️🎥❤️definitely check out their bio- lead guitar Brian May is an astrophysicist. Genius level mixing on Bohemian Rhapsody- that’s Brian May…. all 4 men were genius level with music.🎼
Queen wasn’t known for doing drugs, but they were known for holding wild parties. They were one of the most successful bands of the 70s and 80s, with a huge variety of music. You might want to check out Bohemian Rhapsody, Someone to Love, and Radio Gaa Gaa. I could list dozens more, but if you want another exhibit of how great a singer Freddie Mercury was, check out The Show Must Go On, which he sang when he was so sick he could barely stand. They were a band for more than 20 years with the same four members.
Son xtasy hadn’t been invented yet. He literally meant just what he said don’t stop them now they are Freddie Mercury lead singer and piano degree in design, lead guitar and backing vocals Sir Dr. Brian May Astrophysicist; John Deacon on bass and backing vocals and electrical Engineer who designed and built all of the band’s amps; on drums and backing vocals is Sir Roger Taylor, also a fully trained dentist. BTW The guitar Sir Brian plays is the Red Special, built by he and his father back when he was 16 from junk laying around. He has since changed her name to the Old Lady and still plays it on occasion. My personal favorites are Bohemian Rhapsody, Want To Live Forever, Somebody to Love, Barcelona, The Great Pretender, Radio Gaga, Bicycle, Fat Bottomed Girls, and Show Must Go On. The drinks on top of the piano are Tea with lemon and honey for Freddie and water the other drinks are for Deacon and Brian.
So, I couldn't understand almost anything this guy said. English must be a second language for him. I caught some words here and there but most of them didn't result in a coherent sentence. I notice young people like to misuse the word "literally" for some reason. Anyway, life will be hard as an incomprehensible illiterate.
I think you're really gonna love Queen. They are a great band, a really great band. You ll learn all about Freddie Mercury. The lead singer is simply on another level. They are a massively famous UK band. Even though Freddie died in the 90s, the band goes on. American Idol 2nd place Adam Lambert, is a huge voice & talent. Queen asked him to join, and he didn't copy Freddie he became his own voice with the band. Enjoy! ❤
Queen, one of UK most famous brands. Freddie Mercury, Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor, can be found in the hall of fame. Bohemiam Rhapsody their most famous and memorable song (also known as our National Anthem as more ppl know the words than our actual National Anthem). But who hasn't heard of Another One Bites the Dust, or We Are the Champions. Queen are known for many genres of music from opera to Rock welcome and join us in our magical journey of Queen x
This song is quite literally about Freddie Mercury now becoming true to himself as a Gay man. He was living the life and living true to himself by this stage of his life. He really lived life to the full. I recommend you hear the next collection of Songs and then watch the Live Aid performance that play these songs live. Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Hammer to Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We will Rock You and We are the champions. Watch the live aid set as it is only 20 mins long after you have watched these songs. Queen are considered the best live band ever and you will see why...
I enjoyed your reaction to Queen and all I'm going to say is, follow the info by " Sassypaws " in the thread, and check out " Bohemian Rhapsody " first. This person in a Queenie and they will never steer you wrong. This journey into the Queen rabbit hole will be worth every second. 👍👑💙🌈
All band members wrote songs. They all wrote hits. Brian & Roger could be lead singers & at times they did have their own bands where they sang lead. Unfortunately we lost Freddie to AIDS. Around that time John Deacon retired. Roger & Brian are still touring (they are in Japan right now). The just finished a North American tour. They would never be able to replace Freddie. Right now they are performing as Queen with Adam Lambert.
Queen are still performing with Adam Lambert. Brian and Roger are still at the top their game and have just finished a sold out tour of North America and Japan. Check out some of their newer live performances as well as their older stuff. Still brilliant. If you feel like a ballad try Isle of white festival, Who Wants To Live Forever. I enjoyed post, looking for to more Queen. ❤
In those days the drug "ecstacy" did not exist. He sings about extacy.. that is the fantastic hormones your brain produce.. without drugs. Watch Queen at Live aid concert. The best 30 minutes in your life!
Man I grew up from age 9 on this song and I never thought once of stardom or drugs. It is just a feel good song that encasulates the essence of Queen. They essencialy are a feel good band. Radio Ga Ga, A kind of magic, Killer queen and Bicycle race. just feel good songs bro.
Freddie Mercury has adiploma and graphic design line, John work Roger Taylor is a botanist bass player John Deacon, electrical engineer answer. Brian may lead guitar is a doctor of astrophysics. All of that brain power went into creating queen, not to mention their enoutmous talent.
