@warren3427 Why do jealous people always mentioned Elvis' drug problem and sex life, like he was the only celebrity doing that during the 60s and 70s. Ah! I know cause Elvis was and still is the most handsome, kind, generous, admired, loved and most popular singer in the world bar none. Just remember his drug used was prescribed medications for his many health related problems so he would be able to perform his hectic concert schedules, unlike most celebrities during that era who did street drug just for fun and get high. Whatever he did wrong during those dark period was not him but because of the drugs in his system. But Inspite of his drug problem he remained a good Christian helping people in need be it families, friends and even total strangers.

In Elvis’s early days people were shocked at his dancing. They didn’t like the way he would move his hips when he sang. They called him Elvis the pelvis. So shows like the Ed Sullivan Show started showing Elvis from the waist on up.

I love the lot of them to some of those towards the ends with silly but Elvis made them ahead anyway just by his Charisma and his voice and then in the 70s his voice even became more beautiful at least he gave us some good moves in the baking shows there never be another one he has to go to the greatest of all time AKA Elvis Junkie

you are a fool. Elvis knew he had something going on? Otis Blackwell wrote this song a black artist. whose work influenced rock and roll. His compositions include "Fever", recorded by Little Willie John; "Great Balls of Fire" and "Breathless", recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis; "Don't Be Cruel", "All Shook Up" and "Return to Sender" If it wasn't for Otis Blackwell and so many other black artists, you wouldn't know who Elis was. Elvis fans need to give credit where its due!!!

@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 I'm a fool? That's kind of mean spirited, isn't it? My comment had nothing to do with who wrote what. Elvis was getting some great material to record. More artists than Otis Blackwell were trying to get Elvis to record their songs.

I never got to see Elvis in concert ljve but I just adored him and his music! My heart is full now that so many young people -- white, black, Americans, foreigners, whatever -- are discovering the music that we all loved back in the day! @@user-sm2ql7nq4l I remember an interview Little Richard did with Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show in the 80's. Little Richard was complaining about Elvis getting credit that was due to Little Richard. His exact words were "Elvis wasn't the King of Rock and Roll, I was! If Elvis was the King, what was I? Shut up!" That last bit was said with a playful tone, because with how effeminate Little Richard could be the obvious answer would be "The Queen!" this shows how Elvis was an electrifying performer in his early years...he oozed energy and sex appeal... he could just stand there and twitch and the girls would scream... he didn't invent rock and roll, but he was the breakthrough artist that made rock and roll the music of the next two generations...two people who idolized him were John Lennon and Paul McCartney... side note... this is the Ed Sullivan Show, but this is one of the few shows where Ed wasn't there and his back up host was actor Charles Laughton (Hunchback of Notre Dame), and that is why Elvis thanks "Mr. Laughton" at the start

Thanks guys for your enthusiasm and respect for Elvis and his musical genius. I love the way that you are so open and eager to listen and be educated to a wider spectrum of music than just rap and hip hop. PEACE.

The Ed Sullivan Show was IT for performers. Ed was pretty bland himself but brought the best and brightest and hottest to the view of America. Bands like the Beatles took America by storm after being on his show. Musicians, singers, comedians, everyone on their way up wanted to be on his show.

Great perspective that at that point Elvis did not know how great he was going to become. I remember reading in a newspaper at that time that Elvis Presley would be forgotten in 6 months. He was brutally ridiculed and criticized by those who blamed him for causing juvenile delinquency. Nobody imagined what his career would turn into, but he kept singing his songs, and Col. Parker kept doing publicity, so 65 years later Elvis is still being listened to and talked about.

Thanks For yer reaction.😀 Of all the artists you don't want to miss from the past, that would be Elvis. Even though he's gone, what he left us, is more entertaining and would keep you more excited and happy than some of today's artists.
