Health Care. This administration (not Government) transferred our health care into the hands of the Barbados Private Sector Association (BPSA). Both administrations (B/DLP) compromised our health care sector by willfully refusing to maintain the hospital equipment, and refusing the purchasing of certain pieces of equipment, so that the people would have to be transferred to private clinic/hospitals, where you would have to pay. It is a clever move that most of us ignorant Bajans haven't seen, and who do recognised, some would either speak out, or stay quiet.
Mr. Owen Arthur sold our generational wealth public assets to private interests, he did nothing for the public of meaning that we can put our hands on. If anyone can show it to me, i would appreciate that very much.
@@adg1358, in the hands of the Barbados Private Sector Association's (BPSA) pocket. All this administration is doing, is transferring Public Wealth to the BPSA, it is so clear to see, yet this is not the major discussion. I don not know how our expect to get a quality standard of living, service etc, without finance ? Our Direct Revenue Generating Sectors and Assets are all being sold and leased....we went to school, and acting as if we didn't. When a Nation does that, they no longer generate direct revenue to finance Public Works, the people are then burdened with increase in taxes, imposition of fees and excess borrowing, to repay the capital borrowed, and the interests on those capitals, a never ending cycle of indebtedness. We need to fight for the re-establishment of a National Bank, State Insurance Corporation, regaining of Shares in utilities at 51%, reversal of the Port leases (they will say our ports are not leased), and all other means of Public control....no one is stopping the Private Sector from establishing their own entities, however, we the people must have sectors and assets working for us....Jada or PreConco will not take their profits and build or repair no public roads, schools etc, no, the State had to finance those works, therefore the State must be able to generate direct revenue. We have a total money supply of $26.7 Billion as of 2021-2022, and 5 privately owned banks control 52% ($13+ Billion) of that revenue, yet Barbados has no National Bank to capture some of that supply....even though Sen. Walters stated in the Senate in March that Barbados needs $3.2 Billion for 2024, why is Barbados not capturing some of this revenue ? It makes no sense....all that we complain about, carries a value, finance is needed. The West African Nations get the picture, and took measures to regain Public control of the people assets.
