Have you ever heard of a man named George Jenkins? What about Publix? Today we are traveling to Winter Haven, Florida where we are taking a closer look at the original locations of Publix and Publix Superstore! Let's take a closer look!
Hello and welcome to the World of Micah! I travel around filming everything and anything I find interesting -from theme parks to abandoned urban exploring. If you enjoy learning more about Disney history, tips & secrets or a fan of Disney World nostalgia you have come to the right place. Micah - this is very well done. I am a retired Publix associate. Worked for this great company for over 37 years and loved every minute. You did an awesome job with this video!!!!

worked for publix for 15 years. great company. probably the best grocery story company in the country. after seeing that the first Publix store looked like and the first stand alone store you’d think Publix would buy those buildings back and preserve them as a museum.

Great video..Thanks. I worked for Publix in Gainesville in the early 1970's. It was super. Many nice people and customers. I met my future wife..Sandy at Publix, she also worked there. Love George Jenkins, Charlie Jenkins, Howard Jenkins.

Publix should use this property to make an active small grocery store, but sell frequently bought items in unique specialty vintage packaging. Imagine shopping at Publix there and feeling like you’re back in the 1930s.

I work in a Publix Deli here in Atlanta and I say this with as little bias as possible, they are the best subs out there. They were my go to even before I worked there. A Buffalo chicken tender sub is fire.

First job was Publix, bagging groceries, then stocking. All my high school friends worked there too. Those subs were the best part of working there. Had one for lunch just about every single shift. I got stuck stocking and ordering for the water aisle one summer. Hurricane season. I still managed to overstock us by a couple of palettes. My manager used to play pranks on the new baggers and make them do things like mop the walk-in freezer (mop would stick to the floors) or make the cashiers shake all the salad dressings while blocking the aisles so that they would "look good for customers." He supposedly made one guy stand on top of the roof waiting for a special "helicopter air-drop" of water for the water aisle during hurricane season..... I realize that I just made that sound like it was me that waited on the roof, but it wasn't me.
