It's January 2024 and I still love this video so much! It always brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes 15 years ago. Thank you so much for this!
Look for the one in 2012 -- amazing song and dancing in that one, too. I have the same reaction. I think it's because it highlights common threads of humanity -- music, joy, dancing, and coming together for a moment in time, despite our different backgrounds and cultures. More of this, please, and less hate and anger...
As one of the ppl who participated in this, I have to admit that this was one of most special moment of my life. Every time I see the video, seeing me dance with a happy smile, this brings me back the good old days nostalgia, It was a short moment for each of us, but one of the biggest one for all. Sorry for the bad English. Hope everyone who participated is living their best of life :)
I am so happy for you and of course jealous. What an experience. I am a 51 year old man in Cleveland, Ohio and this video inspired to finally get off my butt and make traveling a priority. I find that this video instills a sense of connectedness for us all.
Been struggling with anxiety disorder in the last two months. Suddenly remembered this video and it brought tears to my eyes. I’m so ashamed that I ever thought life was meaningless and not worth living
@@SobbleWobble13 do you mean 2:33 ? In Gurgaon, India? This is now my favorite part for some reason. I've been watching on and off since shortly after it came out, though not much in past 10 years, till last week. This will never get old. The music does a lot to make it so great. The UN should beam this out into space so that anyone else in this galaxy/universe knows that we at least CAN be friendly and life-loving, when we actually try. Friendly aliens would probably care a lot more about this than our math skills, etc.
Anyone else watching in 2022? These are the types of unifying videos we need when the world seems to be in such a dire state. Edit: And for those still watching in 2023 Edit: And for those still watching in 2024
This video made me inspired to travel, now 13 years later 250 000 km, 27 countries later, now I can't hold back my tears when I hear this song. Thanks Matt!
Such videos have power to unite people and Dance has power to let the dancer within is lost in the dance. This is Love spreading as fragrance in the form of compassion. The flower risk being plucked to spread fragrance around.
This always makes me cry. I don’t know why. There’s just so much joy in this great big world, and sometimes it’s all just so beautiful it’s like it’s too much for my heart to bear.
Same here. And I think it's because it's a vision of what the world could be if our leaders would stop their endless conflicts. MOST of us would just rather dance together.
This is the one video I keep coming back to throughout my life. Seeing all of these amazing people come together and dance just fills me with a feeling I never thought possible. It genuinely makes me happy. Thank you to Matt and everyone who took part. I've shared this video with so many people in similar situations to myself just to see them smile.
So much the same. Matt has aged and so have I. I remember watching this in the apartment I shared with my brother a long time ago. It still makes me cry at the sheer beauty and vitality of it.
2024 and I'm back here again. Never has the world (in my 56 years) have we seemed to need this video more than ever. It still brings me to tears this vid. It's like a "Why can't all life be like this all the time?". It also makes me cry because it gives me hope in that at least 95% of us on the planet just want to fart about, dance stupidly and have laughs. Peace to you all. x
13 years on, and this still makes me smile with joy. I was often in a very dark place mentally when I was younger and watching this video always gave me that bit of strength to keep going. A timeless youtube classic and something that filled me with so much love and hope even in my darkest emotional times...
15 years later and this is still one of my fav videos of all time this video was magic when it came out still holds up as something special so glad. I saw this before it ever blew up and many years later man I feel old watching this in 2023.
I always start crying at Gurgaon when they break the rhythm. I would give him and his girlfriend Nobel peace prize. This is the simplest and the most powerful peace message ever.
i watch this whenever i need to be reminded of joy, possibilities, and ability to come together (so i watch it A LOT!) thank you, Matt and thank you camera man!
I find this video again after more than 10 years since I watched it for the first time. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 😭😭 I was cryiny while watching it again, especially in this harsh time of COVID-19... For dancing like this again, let's promise to each other to stay healthy! Hope to see you soon! #prayfromTaiwan #praytothewholeworld
To this day, this remains my favorite RU-vid video of all time. The music, the unifying message, the pictures, it’s just perfection. Different cultures should be celebrated and respected. Deep down, most people are good, want freedom & happiness. Appreciate the planet we have. ❤
I remember three years ago when my teacher showed us this video, today my teacher showed us this in class. So many memories flooded back, back before a pandemic, and a reminder that peace is one thing that everyone wants.
I watch this whenever I feel down about the state of the world. It reminds me that we are just billions of beautiful people, trying to make sense of this wonderful world. Most people are good. Our systems just need to be better.
The first time I saw this video 13 years ago it made me feel sooo happy 😊 tears where dropping from my eyes of happiness that I can’t describe, truly just love ❤️. When I’m down I come back to this!! It’s awesome that others feel it too !
Matt stated his favorite moment in the entire video was 2:33. He took the time to learn something new. A new dance. "The colors, Choreography, it was one of those moments where everything came together perfectly. You can't even tell it was 110 degrees and i was melting into a puddle." One of the greatest videos ever uploaded to RU-vid.
And today, July 28, 2023, I am so much older and wearing a smile just as wide as so long ago when I first saw this! In today's world we need this; what pure joy!
I heard this song exactly 14 years back when it came out. And i was so much inspired by it. I am 30 now and hardly have visited 3 countries because of so many things life throws at you. Please pray for me.
Please stay steadfast in your plans of travel. I didn't start to truly travel until I was in my early 40's. There were too many "road blocks" in my life when I was younger.
back again to rewatch this masterpeace of beauty that gives you hope, hapiness and a Smile always. in a year with so many conflicts in the world and geopolitical issues.....we need this more than ever. love to all.
I remember way back in 2008 being a kid and going through some difficult shit when my Therapist showed me the first Where the Hell is Matt? video. 14 years later and I still turn these on anytime I need a pick me up.

I'm having a hard time at the moment, and for some reason, years after discovering it, I remembered this video exists. It's like a warm shower on my soul, the world is a good place. Thank you.
One of my all time favorites. I have no idea what prompted me to think of it tonight after an unknown number of years. Best wishes to all people of good will.
13yrs I keep watching this video and every time it gives me so many good vibes. It's so strange how easily it can stitch a teary smile on my eyes, and the things get a little better.
i still remember the FIRST day i ever saw this video. and then Life in a Day followed a couple years later. what an incredible couple of years back then. i miss it.
Wow. I'm using youtube since the beginning but have never seen that video. This is pure gold..and content that we need! Better than 99.99% of all videos that are uploaded nowadays.
I had not seen this in a long time and it was just what I needed to remind me how good and peaceloving humanity can be. A reminder bitterly needed in these dark times. Peace and Godspeed to all travelers!
I remember one of my Spanish teachers had us watch this. I think it was near the end of the school year in middle school. I immediately bought the song on iTunes and never forgot this video, it's so beautiful. We're all the same, humans existing on the same planet... there's a sense of unity here that's rarely seen in the world
