New to your channel, your vlogs are helping me through a period of illness from long term health problem and it’s wonderful to go all round the country without moving from home 👍 you two are just the best! Great fun as well as being so informative and keeping it real so a big thank you to the fabulous Colin and Shaun 🧡🌈
It amazes me to watch how much the level of sophistication your production values has continued to evolve over time. It’s a tribute to your creativity and your efforts to keep pushing the technical envelope. God only knows what the future will bring but thanks for letting me come along for the ride! Happy New Year boys!! 💗
Proper hob, bungs and now sparkles. The check list of what’s wanted/needed on your next NB is coming along nicely. And now we know why it’s Silver Fox and Foxes Afloat too! Nice one. And a final comment, I’m loving the double entendres that are creeping in!! Thank you for these vlogs.
Red wine and Maltesers...? Not sure about that. Not having a telly onboard?! I could never live such an existence - I must have my BBC America for the world's best programming. Dorothy's-Ruby-Slipper Red - what a color concept! You gents are the best!
Shiny bits in the benchtops, sparkly shower. L-shaped diner blppt! I'm cleaning up my studio and you are such good company. LOL PS Now I'm waiting to see whether you get sparkly, shiny bits in the new boat. :)
That was brilliant! What a lovely boat. You left us with quite the cliffhanger at the end! It’s so exciting! I love BUNG and the outtakes. You’re both so funny. You make me laugh lots! x
really enjoying seeing the different boats and their layouts. Once I win that lottery I will get the pair of you to help me with deciding who builds that narrow boat and how it's laid out. Yes on a walk through bathroom, no on the pump out or cassette loo, I want that environmental 'gets Shawn worried about overheating his bum loo, much easier for me. And I can skip the pullout on the bed, that narrow one with a really top of the line memory foam mattress. Shawn's right about the heat stove, much cleaner and I don't want to lug bags of coal. LOL, so, now back to working the heel on a sock while I keep watching your videos, I am way, way behind...
First off, and I hope this is ok but Ian, what a charmer, and for some reason his smile reminds me of Tom Daley's, and that is mean as a compliment btw. The external colours of the boat look very nice. I guess if you have one built you do get to choose the colours you want your boat to be, just like the internal scheme as well I guess if you're buying one new. The boat looks incredible and those worktops with added sparkle, that would be a a clincher for me, it seems both Colin and I like a bit of sparkle and something different with things - again no offence or anything intended, my sister used to throw glitter over me when i was working as she knows i liked a bit of sparkle, it was ok but it got everywhere and always found little bits even after the car was hoovered out etc, my eyes would catch a glimpse of some glitter every once in a while, ha ha, though I wold have opted for a darker work top myself if the sparkle was in it too, but thats my personal preference. The television how that is, I love very much, its out of the way but can be pulled to angle should the need arise and not be in that much of a danger of one hitting thei rhead, compared to a wall mounted one further up the wall, if that makes sense, and if I was getting a boat, I would definitely go this oute of having the tv incorporated into the side like they ar eon this boat. I totally agree also about audio on new televisions, I have a modern one in my living room, only use it to play games on, I have an older one upstairs wieghs a heck of alot required two people to get it upstairs and the sound is soooo much better you can tell immediately the difference and i use that ironically for watching DVDs and such, just for the better audio. The side hatch idea of having those added closing windows as well, that would also be something I would like on my boat, especially if it is a hot day you want as much ventilation as possible and also to avoid moisture build up and also for those days where it rains all of a sudden you can just close the windows and stilol have the light coming in. The stobe for me would be a coal burning one, i dont know why theres something about it being col doutside but you being warm and snug inside with a fire glowing and giving out heat, its relaxing. I know Shaun would like the diesel one, but i personally would choose the coal one, sentimental reasons I guess, when I used to make the fire at my granparents houses and being in front of those on an evening when they were out and i was left alone and when it was dark and rainy and windy out i would be safe and snug in the bungalow watching tv with a fire in the hearth drinking my shandy what my nanna would used to bring back from the club from the previous night. The shower looks nice and with the same themed features from the kitchen, though I would miss my baths, I tend to relax in a bath and things seem to fall into place when youre over thinking when you are having a relaxing soak in the tub, and then when you get out you feel absolutely drained and tired - or is that just me? ha ha. 13:55 - the look on Shaun's face was like "I can't believe you just said that"
G'day Colin and Shaun. I really love your boat Silver Fox. I have watched this video again about Swan boats. Done some reading on Swan boats. I think when I get to the UK I will go for a Swan Boat build. I do like the sparkly bench tops in the galley.
Caught a couple vlogs recently and decided to start at the beginning. We watched the first 16 last night. It's our new favourite show! Can't wait to see where the journey takes you (and us). Cheers from the northwest corner of Vermont. (USA)
Oooooo I like that one. Has a lovely feel iykwim. I love the fire and imagine cosy evenings on the sofa snuggled up with Dillon watching a film. Oh and sparkles. You sold me on sparkles. Xxxx
Foxes Afloat errrrm sorry no can do! Selling houses is a pain in the butt!! Hope it goes soon though. Really hope you pass through the canal systems here. Can't wait to visit you! So exciting x
Great video, not chop chop with the boat! We all want cruising videos ;) That boat you was viewing looked amazing! Hope you get the boat you want eventually!
Thanks! We're making our decision on which boat we've chosen this week and letting everyone know in a few days. Also got some cruising to do on a boat we're taking out next weekend, so plenty of cruising footage on it's way. Cheers for your comment :)
Again love ur video’s . Honest wants me to visit England and go on a narrow boat. You and Sean’s presentation on this boat layout is well done. And omg 😂 I love love the straw comment and how Sean looked at you. Lmao
Chaps... buy used, use the saved money to make it how you want, save yourselves the instant depreciation of buying new. Love your vlogs. Best of luck :)
We get our new boat in two weeks time - we are living aboard so it was the same for us - we went for a New build fully fitted out to our design as we want it for us and not what someone else wanted.
Yeah but buying used has character. It’s like getting a rehoused pet and not only do they get used to you but you get used to them. If that makes any sense.
Got to have space for blouses!! Great video guys - so exciting for you both I tried the dislike button - I didn't get warts but everything else happened - thanks :)
OK now, enough window shopping, it's make your mind up time. otherwise you will be wanting sleepovers on these boats before deciding. Anyway another epic vid from you both.
Ha ha! It actually really is make your mind up time. Swan was the final builder to see. We'll be making our decision this week *excited* :) Thanks for your comment Kev. Always nice to get them :)
As always nice video, You said about liking the Sparkle in the paint work but the grey on the outside was a bit to same as everybody else so how about if possible you put glitter in the paint. As I'm guessing you're going for a new build boat
Decisions , Decisions semitradacruiseastern love it. Now put a sexy square back and your cooking on gas. Speaking of which you thought about a Hybrid all electric....stealth boat... Enjoying your process, we wait on tenterhooks....exciting stuff chaps..:)
Hey Mark. I think we’ve accepted that the stern isn’t really as big an issue as we thought it was three months ago. Square back... hmmmm, not sure. We’ve seen a couple and aren’t keen. Hybrid/electric, well I think a cracking solar set-up, efficient battery/management and clever use of power is as close as we’ll get (for now). As for waiting on tenterhooks... I have a feeling the next vlog will be a revealing one. Cheers for the comment. Always appreciated!
So, I thought the 32” tv would be too small, but then I found a 6’6” hallway and realized how close you’d be to the set and it seems a 32” tv is about the largest you could have on a narrowboat. That being said, I’d want a 42” on my narrowboat.
Well, at the 10:40 time interval, the long-held belief about Brits having extra bad teeth is certainly dispelled! Everyone shows a great set of choppers that look natural & authentic!
I find it funny that the only time British people will ever use American *measurements* ...aka *The Imperial System* ...is when referring to the size of their Television's! (32" inch TV)
