Great vid and helpful. Hope it saves me some money with my new mill. Wish people would quite saying Amazon prime has"free shipping". It's just paid for in advance.
Yah depending on how much you order thru them it would seem free at some point. Thing is shipping is already added into the initial price of every item. The term free shipping was probably the single most rate reducing phrase to ever mess up trucking rates.
Just went to the web site you suggested. Granted it is a few months later the price of a box of 10 is now $24.25 each. 1.5 wide .055 thick 144" blades.
@@oconnaugh that sounds about right. I still haven't had to buy any new ones since I made this video. The great part is I have yet to break a munkfors blade from kenne-saw supply. I've broken several lennox blades over the last couple years. Almost always at the weld seam. I've not priced any other blades but I haven't had any reason to either. Maybe once I get an automatic sharpener and setter I might look into other blades. Unless a sponsor wants me to try their blades. Otherwise I see no need to change what simply works and is the most cost effective. Thanks for keeping me updated.
I'm very happy with the blades from kenne-saw.com but the first ones I got from woodlandmills are lennox blades and they usually break by the 4th sharpening. The munkfors blades from kenne-saw.com some have already made it to 7 sharpening and just missing a tooth or two and still haven't broke one. I went thru 6 blades including the 2 that broke while at the 41.36 on average each blade milled 10 plus logs. Some even more than others it just depended on how dirty the logs were. And the cedar logs were milled down to 1/4" thick boards so they got alot of run time. I estimated 60 pine logs plus several cedar logs. That were milled with them. I'm used to milling alot of ash and oak. So blazing thru pine was a nice change of pace.
I have the hm130. I'm told they both use a 12ft. Blade. Woodland mills ships 1.250 wide blades the munkfors blades are 1.500 wide which is better. As far as length I was told by woodlandmills that they both take 12ft long blades I asked if the belts or wheels were different and he said they're the same they just moved the blade guides out and redesigned a couple things to get the extra cut width.
