Man, thanks a lot for this video. I'm a beginner in Master Duel and was struggling with figuring out how to interact with each deck, sometimes losing just because of that lack of skill. Channels like yours are essential for the community.
@@dimas-yr8un I've always been a fan of the anime and used to play the Tag Force games on PSP, so I was already familiar with the rules in general. Once I learned about the new summoning mechanics, it was easy to get back into the game.
@@ReapR1 it isn't always optimal to just straight up maxx c if they aren't doing shit. You wanna max c the second you see them special summon unless you deliberatly want them to force turn and avoid getting talents on MP1
This video was everything I ever wanted. I only learn how the deck works, or how to counter it, by using it. Unfortunately, most of the time, I don't have the meta decks to play. So, a summary of how to use hand-traps against these decks is very welcome. This video is incredible.
I do say, this is a very helpful video series! Every deck has a weak point that can hinder it immensely, but their weak points aren't so obvious to spot. A critical point that can stun your opponent, like striking a raid boss around a specific area suddenly gets it to lower its shields, disorienting it. Now, their weak points have been revealed, and can be taken advantage of. Astounding work, I do say so!

about shifter into centurion, i think its worth noting that if used on their turn, they cant search with the field spell since it requires a card to be sent from their hand to gy as cost, banishes wake up centurion and phalanx to prevent their gy effects and also banishes gargoyle so that it cant be returned to hand after using it as synchro mat
@@rakhaadam1429 yep it does hinder, but not too much, some centurion decks actually play shifter themselves, which is why I feel overall it won’t hurt them too much
honestly, super useful. really helps with what handtrap I should use depending on my deck. I usually ash poplar but the diabel spell seems better. And I now know Bystial is actually useful against fire king a bit because of the IP banish.
I have to say, the next time I play against another labrynth player I’m sure the parts you mentioned about negating them really are beneficial for me to outsmart them and become a better labrynth player, really it all comes down to competition and having fun
Just a heads up because i dont think it was mentioned: Evenly isn't always effective against branded because a good Branded player will have Santifire in the end board. This will put a monster on your side of the field when you enter battle phase making evenly worthless and your battle phase wasted. Other than that, Solid video with good tips. @jorgealexander5966 sanctifire IMO Is always a great choice for end board. Cant be targeted or super polyed, Blocks Evenly/Imperm and can help dodge GY banishment. Not to mention it summons albaz/cartesia to your field for more interruption. I dont think you'll see a good branded player that doesn't end on it or try to
honestly, sanctfire is great and all but super unreliable to make turn 1. If you have BF but no available cartesia/quem, it's near impossible to make. so evenly is pretty effective even if the branded player is good, you only make sanctifire in above average hands. I mean, would you prefer to end on just sanctifire over mirrorjade + banishment? The better branded player would always choose the second choice
@@Spagoob now with puppet banned, we’re much less likely to end on sanctifire if you just have branded fusion, since the preferred line is usually Albion into Lubellion into Mirrorjade + Bystial Lubellion in grave But I do get your point, if your hand is great then you also end on sanctifire, thank you for your input!
Nobody really used sanctifire before they remembered about gimmick lock. Literally never saw him unless that was all they could do or they were bringing out an albaz or Cartesian to fuse into something else. He's really just a beat stick at the end of the day. His greatest power is being unfusable. Which is weird because up until that point albaz was fusing with everything in lore

Very nice video one of the best out there! The only think that i disagree is that in my opinion Evenly matched is very bad against branded as long as sanctifire exists or if they chain good the branded in red

If you don’t like metas like me. Lock down zombies is a fun time with doomking. It’s not 100% a stop. But its a free banish or negate effect. Plus super poly into whatever zombie you want or thing you can make. Me personally I still use the “DANGER!” Engine to bait out hand traps and to help get cards discarded. It will lose to anything that mass banishes (if you know GX cards then you know what I’m talking about) or anything that prevents special summons for the turn/while face up. So, run protection from those things and 80% of the time you’re gucci. I have not come across a lot of those so don’t panic too much. Now when I say “lock out” I’m referring to z-world and warlords. (Z-world makes everything a zombie on field and grave. Warlords makes it to where you can only have 1 FACE-UP type) These combo decks rely on spam summoning. So, once they summon one monster, unless they have another zombie (from hand,deck,ex deck) they can’t do anything unless they CLEAR their board to “reset” their typings. So if they fusion from hand or have some weird spell that pulls out a boss that’s pretty much all they can do until they break that lock. Some decks like eheros (decks that rely on typings) can be stopped ENTIRELY. It’s funny. Anyways, last thing, usually I go first. Second doesn’t hurt, you’re just more susceptible to negates (set up on the field). This specific version of my deck “Danger! Zombies!” Has a pretty high win rate (if you play your cards right). I have only really lost due to bricking (bad hand) or the game literally not giving me anything to work with. (MD hates me sometimes). So overall 90% win rate. (I can give yall a deck list if you ask nicely)

@@Moha-MasterDuel I don’t play often, but I have been able to hold my own against the top meta decks of those that were climbing out of gold and through plat. I’m currently sitting at plat 2. I only play a couple of games every other day. I can’t really say I’ve struggled against any deck in particular. I usually only lose at the luck of the draw. There were some times when I miss played or wasn’t paying attention and activated an eff at the wrong time. As far as yubel goes, I only saw that deck pop up twice and I didn’t even need the lock for that one. I just called their spirit or the fusion. Blossomed their searches and swung for game. Mezuki, uni zombie and doomking can really make some crazy boards. Plus book of life is really strong against some of these fallen albe-hoosie-has-its decks. I’m not sure how this type of deck will do in higher ranks. But you can always change things to how you want your win con to be. Update to the win rate, it is now 88%. I got my sh*t pushed in by a dark magician deck. They had HELLA removal in their deck. Anyways, yeah I can type up my deck list if you want. 🫡
@@ronw3asley I understand, the deck feels strong with the right cards, but will struggle in higher ranks when you face snake eyes or Yubel every duel For now I have no plans to use zombies until they get support, then I’ll ask for your Decklist Good luck 🫡
For centur ion going second gamma can be even better in the end phase on the auxila trying to bring back primera, they lose their r12 they don't bring back primera and they can't do any follow up because it is the end phase
One trap hand as ash, o imp usually doesn't stop meta dexks as yubel, snak eyes, fire king. this decks usually have a second way to continue the combo at least. you must be lucky to stop a meta deck with a single trap hands. i noticed that with yubel super poly (e nibiru) are unless.
Evenly matched is not always useful against branded if they can summon albion sanctifire, they can just summon useless monster on your board before the battle phase ends

Very useful. Btw as a Branded player I keep in my bag Brightest, Blazing, Branded King. It has saved my ass in multiple times from evenly matched and other nasty cards
EDIT: NVM forgot about Princess. You should always Imperm/Veiler Turbulence. The trick is to do it as soon as they summon it, before they have a chance to activate the set 4 from Deck. Turbulence is a slow effect so even if they protect with S:P, they can't actually set since it's gone until the End Phase.

Just my 2c mby im wrong about this but if you have welcome and big welcome set and get to resolve both get lady first then activate big welcome for lovely so you get lady search lovely proc and still end on both on field
Yep this is what I always do But the correct thing is: you have to feel their hand traps, if you activate welcome and they have a delay, but then welcome goes thru, it might mean they’re saving their ash blossom for your big welcome, so have to summon lovely so they can’t ash the big welcome, since lovely prevents opponent from activating monster effects in response to traps
I wish you covered Ice Barriers. I've unironically had more trouble vs those floodgating degenerates than any of these meta decks. I need to learn it's chokepoints because it seems to have a thousand extenders.
@@Capta1nTD yep I made this video before ice barrier was released, what I’d do, Imperm and veiler mirror mage, ash blossom their normal summon because that might stop them from using their extenders, or ash the spell that summons 2-3 monsters from deck Use Nibiru, very few combos play under Nibiru
@@Moha-MasterDuel I'll keep that in mind. Don't think I can reasonably tech in Nibiru this format though, it does virtually nothing to FKSE, Yubel, Voiceless Voice, etc.
Lol, when in doubt I usually fall back to negate the UR card, followed by anything once per turn, and lastly all things that hit the field that was summoned by sending two or more cards
This is very good guide. However not all strategy is perfect. The biggest downside of handtrap it required multiple copy handtrap to stop their combo, especially deck that multiple starter like snake-eye fire king, Rescue-ACE and yubel. 2nd handtrap even your manage stop them, if fail to OTK next turn or set up powerful board, in turn 3 their can finish your off. Unlike boardbreaker once your break their board, the possibility to come back is slim due to their have use up all the card resource but drawback is your need to hard draw Boardbreaker cannot depand on triple tactic thrust, as oponnent established a strong board may negate your to search it. Hopefully can make boardbreaker guide if people really needed, especially to out stun and labrynth. Boardbreaker is way better for out Kashtira deck over handtrap especially dark hole, dark hole is their worst nightmare for Kashtira.
@@xenonim thank you And that is true, sometimes you negate something but they already have extenders in hand And as you said, the problem with board breakers is that they can possibly negate them But will do a board breaker guide at some point

Can you make a list of the cards I haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh since 2007 and every channel I go to only shows the cards but don't make a list. This is super frustrating coming back 18 years later and RU-vidrs assume their audience is in the know if you could please make a list I'm very unfamiliar with the Meta and I'm trying to understand the strategy behind the cards. I've looked to other channels and almost all of them don't make a list which is frustrating when Yu-Gi-Oh is now so much deeper than it was 20 years ago. Droll is a must have card against tearlaments, a lot of players play it with multiple engines, if C maxx resolve they will make a party of special summons to empty your deck, I won several matches using droll against this deck.
@@adriangutierrezmartinez8374 that is true actually, maybe I underestimated how good droll is against Tearlaments, I play tearlaments myself and remember searching 4 cards off of milling 8
Not so much a mistake but for Tearlaments, ash the Reinoheart if you can, rather than Kitkallos. If you ash kitkallos it might still be able to use its 2nd effect to mill loads of cards. I say that… tear players always open reinoheart and scream 😂
Honestly im not struggling with yubel, just because im playing Unchained so its so easy to beat it, meanwhile, im still struggling with snake eye fire king, even with post banlist its so hard to beat them man
Snake eye fire king doesn’t lose to bystials cause they still have arvata + kirin + promethean and other disruptions depending on their combo Imperm / veiler on spirit is a bad idea cause they can just dodge it with squermer
@@ayham613 SEFK doesn’t lose to bystial, but banishing Masquerena from grave takes away 3 disruptions (Masquerena into Apollousa or little knight) Imperm and veiler while not ideal on spirit, is a safer play, because it’s much easier to revive D Lotus, than possibly having squirmer in hand, but that’s just my opinion, I personally go for a higher risk and Imperm dark beckoning or D Lotus
I actually disagree with shifter vs yubel...I actually play shifter in yubel because you can still freely combo with shifter online since popping and specialing still are fine cause they can come back from banish zone and even can trigger throne..it does stop some things like ss grave wff of squirmer and u lose lotus and such but HARD stopping other decks I feel is worth it cause u can play thru it much better than other decks otherwise I agree with all the other points, just thought I would add that yubel actually can play through shifter
@@TMDtwista thank you! Yubel can play a bit under shifter, but it takes you from having 8 disruptions to maybe 3, I don’t think that’s worth it But that’s just my opinion, it also hurts because you’ll struggle to summon phantom and might banish your 1 of Yubel
Great video! I think that Evenly Matched is useless against Yubel. They can use Escape to pop Rage+another card on their field, and then use Yama's effect in the GY to reborn Rage. So their endboard will still be apollousa+rage

Man, being a mannadium player i wish I had the deck space for 3 veiler 3 ash 3 imperm 3 evenly 2 nib 3 gamma (plus driver). All gas is the only option.
@Moha-MasterDuel I really want to, I have tried yubel and centurion and mannadium is just better imo. I also run archlord kristya and some of the veda cards to turn 0 naturia beast. I reached high gold with yubel & centurion, almost masters with mannadium. Glad to see another mannadium enjoyer though :)

Similar content is where to 2 handtraps with 1 monster, 1 spell/trap (e.g: Yubel: Samsara D Lotus, Opening of the Spirit Gates,...) in opponent's hand with META.
@@jstdru veiler and Imperm on Lo if that’s what they started with, try to save ash blossom for saffira, ash/imperm/veiler on skull guardian if that was their first summon and Lo is coming back from grave Nibiru doesn’t hurt the deck They have an Omni negate for evenly matched Shifter hurts the deck a lot since they can’t revive Lo and they basically can’t use saffira’s effect
