Just got home from a week in Playa. Had a pounding headache my last morning there though because of 2 restaurants close by blasting techno music until 2 am. Same drum beat for 6 hours straight. Probably worse than Guantanamo waterboarding torture.
How do people protect equipment, including cars, from the effects of the humidity and salt in the air? What about houses, condo, apartment interiors? Fascinating video..... What are the areas with amenities within walking distance besides Fifth Avenue?
What they don’t tell you is how much scam goes into the sale of the houses and also how shitty the material is because in a few years you’ll start to notice the imperfections or in less time
Finally someone mentions this. It´s built by workers who are hired because they are from very poor areas of the country and they are NOT professionals. Lived there for 6 years... full of corruption, crime, money extortion. The entire area from Cancun down to Chetumal is run by the cartels. The local authorities are clueless and frankly not better than the drug cartels. Think twice before you consider moving there... And as the blonde Lady in den video says.... it´s a "cash" country. Be prepared to pay for everything double if you are a foreigner, even for your gardener, the cleaning lady or the corrupt offical who needs to stamp your visa card.
Hello Modern Aging, I am new to your channel. I truly learned so much from your interview with David in Playa Del Carmen. Have you done any interviews with individuals late 50s who are on social security disability and on choice voicher/section8? This would be good for us folk who are blessed in this type of living. Thank you in Advance.
This lady sounded a little suspect every time she was asked about pricing. That’s your job. You should be able to rattle off numbers in an instant. Otherwise, very nice video.
I much prefer Puerto Vallarta to Playa. I think the beach is better in Playa, and maybe a bit cheaper to live, but other than 5th ave, it is a pretty boring town. The weather is far better in PV, more restaurants and entertainment, better views because not flat like Playa, and more of an expat destination rather than just a place to visit. Also PV has an airport where as to get to Playa you have to fly to Cancun
there were a lot of video/edit breaks in this upload..so, would you please consider uploading a companion video with arrows added? in order to consistently show, in which direction, the beach /east coast/Riviera Maya can/could be located?? thanks!!🗺
I’m looking to one day son retire to Mexico but am concerned with all the videos i keep seeing that show displacement of the local cultures and customs when foreigners who’ve relocated bring their “beliefs/lifestyle and cultural insights”…
I totally understand. Most of the videos are certainly from the foreigner perspective... when foreigners do relocate in other countries it is important that we do our part to be respectful of their culture.
That's probably why the expats move there...? It's more comfortable, with mix of 'exotic'... Why do you want to move there? Wouldn't you be a foreigner relocating? Maybe pick a small town in the middle of the country?
Throughout history, people have moved around willingly and sometimes under duress. The US as a nation began when European migrants went to a Native American land and later invaded forcefully. I understand and share the concern for the locals, but it shouldn’t deter migration. Mexicans are moving to the US and other countries just as immigrants/foreigners are moving to Mexico. Best wishes.
Playa is going to face a depression soon. Too much ridiculously expensive inventory, and nothing of much interest in the city. It is no longer a reasonable little retreat.
So I love Playa Del Carmen but honestly the recent cartel activity makes me not want to visit that area. I feel Puerto Vallarta is by far the best retirement area🇲🇽🏝🍓
To be honest thus seems like it's becoming super pricey and overbuilt I guess the downtown Parr. That's not my price or my vibe. Looking for quiet, traditional and short walk to beach. I should probably listen to the part just before little Italy and around outside??? I am more the 400. to 700/800 $$ renting. Not buying real estate...this is a very good show, none the less
thanks for your concern. we are wearing seatbelts if you look carefully...they are under our arms because we were wearing mics just where the strap hits, we had to wear it under our arms. but indeed we were wearing them
