I find the mix knob very useful in conjunction with the distortion feature to add "presence" to bass guitars. Thanks for pointing out the low cut filter. I had missed that one. ✌✌

Just googled Slate 1176 and realised I've been using the slate versions of these on pretty much every track I've done for the last year.

I have been debating whether to get this collection while it is on offer and you have helped me to go for it, now I understand the 1176 better. I think the 1176 is a little older than you, but you look a lot younger than your age. Lol

Another interesting , well presented tutorial. As someone almost entirely ITB I have wondered if compression is more important when live instruments and mics are involved. I fool around with it on some EPs and guitar vsts but I don't appreciate much difference unless the settings are a bit cranked.

I wish you were able to switch back and forth between the different models inside of one plugin. I know the Waves version is less accurate, but I sometimes prefer it simply because of the ability to quickly toggle between the blue and black models. Yes, you can load all the UAD versions into your channel strip and toggle back and forth that way, but it's not as quick and takes up more slots on your channel strip and more processing power.

1176 and ELE-8 - killers - one quastion is, why are u not using a limit (aux) to aim and compare the compression quality?
