It took the industry a really long time to get here. When Ruger made the decision to enter the market with the only mainstream competition to FN, it opened the flood gates so to speak. There are more and more sub guns and pcc's being chambered in 5.7 as well. Eventually, it will hopefully lead to reasonably priced ammo on top of reasonably priced platforms.

Nato finally adopted it if I remember right, so now companies are making guns in it. Should also increase the ammo production and some day lower the price.

Check out their M110 clone rifle. Available in 308 & 6.5 creed. Sub MOA gas gun, full of features, looks fantastic & priced at $1299 or $1499 depending on which options you choose. Great AR10 style rifle. Some have reported theirs was under gassed, but that's easy to fix or PSA has full lifetime warranty & will handle issues promptly!!

Loved the comparison! The Smith got me excited about 5.7, but I got the Rock because I was curious about a gun designed (not just built) by PSA, and also because for me I can't see myself switching from 9mm to 5.7, so investing in the more expensive pistol didn't make much sense. The Rock is a nice shooter though!

I’m a big fan of 5.7 and have all four of these. I like the rock the best, by far. He didn’t mention some Glock aftermarket compatibility, which is nice. You made a great choice and saved money. My least favorite is the SW, it it’s the only one that shoots subsonic reliably.

I went back and forth on whether to get a 5.7, with it being a new caliber to me, and all. I ended up with a CZ Shadow2 SA, as I am more set with 9mm. What I like about my S&W 5.7 is that the slim profile let's me easily carry it in a belly holster at 3 o'clock (lefty). The gun is light and easy to conceal against the body. 22+1 gives me the chance not to have to carry an extra mag. As for the ammo cost, if you shop around you can find prices at .40$ / Rd. Not great but not as bad anymore as it was 6 months ago. Good review, like the format of comparing similar guns to each other.

I've been thoroughly pleased with my PSA. For $600, I got one with suppressor-height sights, a threaded barrel, a Holosun 407K, and two magazines. And magazines are about $20 a piece. The only jam I've had with it was one I caused by miscounting how many rounds I'd put into the magazine. Otherwise, it's cycled and shot everything I've fed it, and it's easy to be accurate with. It's now my carry gun for when I'm going to be around a lot of people, thanks to its capacity and the ballistics of the 5.7 round.

I have six pistols that have the exact same grip as a PSA Rock 5.7 I absolutely love the palm swell and the texture of the grip. Had I seen this video two weeks ago I would not have spent the money on a 6.5 x 52 rifle.

The other thing about the PSA Rock is that they have a lot of customization options if you want to bling it out-you can customize the barrel, slide and frame. Performance will vary so that’s the catch.

Went with the Ruger. But I bought a used one for 450 bones. Couldn't tell it was used other than one latch missing off the carry case. Still hoping the ammo starts getting more affordable and plentiful. Would like to see more makers focusing on making better defensive rounds. The Gold Dot stuff is always extremely high. And the V-max bullet is technically a varmint bullet.

Great video, I didn't check all of the comments. My PSA Rock came with a threaded barrel (yes you can get them without but not sure why you would), raised iron sights for the silencer, and a Holosun for $499. Noticed in the video you didn't mention the threaded barrel for the PSA. Once again, I liked the video. Good job!

I started my collection just a few years ago. Almost every time I shop for a new gun, S&W wins. This 5.7 and a 686+(will be my first revolver) are the next ones on the list. And I think they have a bullpup shotgun that I might end up getting.

I’ve been waiting for someone to make this video. Haven’t watched it yet but my guess is that the S&W and PSA are probably the bests choices.

Solid comparison! I picked up the Smith a while back, mainly to have a 5.7 caliber pistol for armor testing. Man it’s an awesome pistol! The only issue I’ve had is the thread protector walking off and had one of my rimfire cans walk off in less than a mag causing an end cap strike.

Thank you. This helped a beginner decide on my first pistol. I was wanting the ruger 5.7. I tried it at the range and enjoyed the low recoil but I'm leaning towards the S&W 5.7 because of this review. I'll try it out today and decide. Thanks for this. Glad my Google search brought this video up.

Among other channels, yours has been an inspiration for me to trade my Ruger for the M&P. I'm very happy with that trade. FN would do well to make an FNX format chambered in 5.7. That would address some of the cons, while offering something a bit different than the competition.

Despite the cost of ammo, I just haven't been able to get into the 5.7 for pistols. I think it would be awesome if they would put it in a good PCC package. To me that makes the most sense. But hey. To each his own.

I mean, that's what the P(S)90 is and Ruger and CMMG already have guns chambered for 5.7. If anything, these are carbine caliber pistols.

Ruger released their 5.7 LC carbine at the beginning of this year. Uses the same mags as the handgun because the pistol grip from the hand gun was incorporated into the carbine. Retails for $980.

My biggest attraction 2 PSA is not only price but them wanting to put firearms in as many american homes as possible. I got a 13.7 Sabre 5 months ago. 2500 rds. 0 malfunctions. Just got a dagger too.

The video I've been waiting for. Been wanting to get a 5.7 pistol forever. I'm seriously leaning towards that PSA never thought I'd say that. The ruger doesn't do much for me, FN is ho hum for the price. M&p I've heard has had some QC issues as of late.
