I was stranded out of town during a family emergency when I bought an Everstart at Walmart, expecting it to last until I could get a better battery. 6 years later it is still going strong.

Man, I remember when a premium 3 year replacement battery was about $50-60 depending on the size. It's insane that now most premium batteries are wayyy over $100 and a good portion of them from AutoZone/Advance Auto Parts are over $200. That's not including the AGM batteries. They are $300 or more now...

Thank You for all you do. A Suggested test would be DC to AC Converters in the 2000 to 3000 watt range which most would put in their car trailers or RV's and are in the $150 to $400 range in price. I shelled out extra to get an AGM battery 5 years ago, and it's still going strong. It's never not started. Lead acid ones have always gone dead every 2 or 3 years for me, so I'm convinced it's worth it.

My Everstart Max lasted 7 years and 4 months in my 2005 Silverado. I was shocked. Excellent battery.

Just replaced a second Everstart Batt from Walmart. Both lasted barely two years. CCA is one metric but longevity is also important.

This man is a hero without a cape me and my dad love watching these and this video was very useful as we needed new batteries

Side note: Walmart has a pretty good exchange program, and most likely you're going to be somewhere near a Walmart where you can exchange it, even on a road trip.

I always use the Walmart Battery. Main reason it that there is almost always a Walmart anywhere I travel in case of a warranty issue. Years ago I had a battery die that was under warranty but there wasn’t any dealer where I was so I ended up paying for another battery. Nice to see it was a top performer.

I enjoyed this comparison vid. I used to sell batteries for Walmart in the early 90's. At that time they were made by B&G Technologies. I received more in returns than I sold, and I told everyone this so they would avoid purchasing a battery from Walmart. Nice to see Walmart corrected the problem.

What I love about this channel and this gentlemans efforts is that it holds companies accountable for their marketing claims which are often highly embellished. Sharing the cost between the products and the companies that sell them is also highly valuable. Like most fiscally responsible people, I price shop both cost and quality before pulling the trigger on a purchase. Unless you're part of the 1%, saving $40 dollars for the same battery simply feels good and responsible. :) Another thank you sir for your efforts in providing this valuable information. P.S., you may consider a body guard before a big corporation puts a hit on you! HA! LOL

Thank you for this. I've bought Walmart batteries for years because I was poor and could not afford to spend more. Never had a problem, but its nice to see independent verification.

I have used WalMart Ever Start batteries for several years and have had great success with them and like this video showed they are the least expensive as well

I purchased two Everstart batteries for my diesel truck in December of ‘19 right after watching this video. A little over three years on I’ve noticed a little bit of a drop in the cold cranking amps. With my injectors in need of rebuilding/replacing over the past two years she’s been needing a good bit of extra cranking in the cold especially this winter. I’ve been hard on the batteries and have been impressed so far with these Everstart batteries. I’ve only had to boost the truck a handful of times when temps have fallen into the single digits and I’ve forgotten to plug her in. Truck is a ‘97 5.9 Cummins.

YES !!! I like that, now I'm about to buy some deep cycle batteries for my boat. I would love to see a test with those types.

Thank you for educating your viewers as to the manufacturer of the battery. There are only a handful of manufacturers, but sold under numerous names. In my 35+ years in the HD Truck industry, East Penn (Deka) batteries were the best sold. Very very few issues. Also, if the vehicle has multiple batteries, all should be replaced. Vibration and heat is the death of batteries.

This is the most humble man on earth this has to be the most expensive test hes ever done

A major consideration for me is the longevity of the battery that your testing cannot measure. It would be interesting to test the Oddessy Extreme brand.

I’ve heard that Optima batteries used to be by far one of the best options but since they were bought out and production moved from domestic to foreign, they’ve really gone down in quality and longevity

Its almost like theirs a monopoly on lead acid :/

Now, before I buy anything substantial, I ask myself "What Would Project Do?"

If starting a engine is Your priority at really cold temp, turning highbeams for minute before cranking will "preheat" battery, allowing for slightly more cranking amps

I'm back! I watched this video on Christmas morning at like 3AM 1 or 2 years ago. Went on vacation with wife and 6 year old daughter 700 miles away to Arkansas (Diamond Crater) and to enjoy the totality of the solar eclipse. A quarter of the way back home, alternator failed. Failed Failed. After many hours of repair attempts on the side of the interstate during heavy rain/thunderstorms and cold, we got towed to a hotel about 20 miles away. Next day, got a ride to walmart and used prior knowledge gained from this video. I used three Everstart walmart batteries to get family and car home. Each battery lasted about an hour and twenty minutes. Calculations were good for the mileage. You're the best, and your knowledge dissemination changes lives. Thank you. (For others, obviously keep AC off, don't use lights, pull DRL relay, and be ready to pull over at any time to swap to the next battery! Fun times! And no, the WD-40 trick did not work on the alternator. Your OTHER video with the gooloo, used that to test alternator after many start attempts, car would run with battery for a few minutes then die again. Started car without battery, and it would instantly die, signalling a total alternator failure. Got a good samaritan that pulled over to jump us and do a long charge for 15 minutes. That time the car lasted about 14 minutes before dying and pulling to the side of the road, right back in the same situation again. Battery chain swapping was the solution to get the hell home. Thank you sir!!)

A crimp vs. solder vs. quick splice vs. Dupont connectors regarding connecting wires would be a cool video!
