[Eric] I was very happy with how that night turned out. We knew Derek and Heather’s work and we’ve been communicating for quite a while with them about light painting, but you never really know what to expect when you meet people for real. It basically felt like meeting with old friends. We knew right away it would be a beautiful moment. To me, Derek is probably one of the best in this field. He’s really following the spirit of the technique and he’s been there almost since the beginning. It was very interesting to have conversations about small details on the technique with other people that share the same passion for it.
[Kim] Derek and Heather have a very different workflow and rhythm than Eric and I, which was very interesting to witness. They understand the technique and make it their own. They also make a beautiful team as they complement each other very well.
Meeting with folks from the tribe is part of the global evolution of this tube light-painting technique and it’s partly through these amazing collaborations that we all grow together.
--- About the Tube Stories
We are Kim Henry and Eric Paré. We are a dancer/photographer duo making our way using a tube, a feather, and a flashlight. Everything we do is lit by hand, one frame at a time. Light-painting for us is a lifestyle, and this is what we share with our audience. The purpose of the Tube Stories is to bring a brighter and more colorful night to whoever is going to cross our path. Our work has been presented on the BBC, CNN, MTV, VICE, TEDx and much more.

I’m not sure what I love more, learning about light painting or watching the two of you interact. I’m obsessed with both. 😂😂😂

Dope! Love getting into the nitty gritty technical side of light painting and photo creating. The community side of this episode definitely resonated with me ^_^

I notice on your equipment page , you use a Olight M1x Striker 1000 lumens. Do you use this at mostly full output because it says at full output it will only last 1000 lumens for only about 5 minute. Is this correct ? Do you you use the 1000 lumen setting for your shots ? Do you base your light painting based on Lumens and what would you suggest as a good lumen light....Thanks btw Love your Work

Yeah I use the Olight only at the beginning of the night (when I need a lot of power). Then I move on to the Nitecore MT22c which has a dimmer. Thanks ::))

Est-ce qu'un 50mm 1.8 ou un 10-18mm f4/5.6 fonctionneraient bien ?
@Ericpare
@Ericpare 3 года назад
oui totalement. à f4, ça va être un peu plus difficile pour les étoiles, mais tu pourras faire un temps d'exposition plus long :)

Hi Erik, I love your videos, but I have a big problem when I watch them. It is very simple to fix in post. The volume when you speak and the music, they have many decibels of difference, you have to turn up the volume to listen to what you are saying, but when the music appears it leaves you deaf and is very annoying. A small constructive criticism so that it is not so annoying. Greetings from Uruguay
