@@aloter1680 True, I guess this video shows how important and almost ritualistic race numbers are to each driver. Unlike football or some other sports where numbers are just given as per your position.
If we're nominating previous driver logos? Ayrton Senna. The "S" was clean, easy to recognize from a distance, and looked good in either color or black and white. Honorable mention to Niki Lauda (though it was adapted from his airline's logo)

I'm a bit late but I actually prefer this logo versus the "correction" as that one looks like the center line is tucked into the side, which looks actually kind of weird.

I think that's the problem. It looks like a brand logo instead of a person's logo. Like, why is it a pair of werdly narrow wings (and not even a bit reminiscent of formula car wings)? How do they relate to LH, his driver number or F1?
@@wombat4191 because Hamilton does not use a logo, he uses an imagotype, which combines a symbol/image and text, and can be used separately. The logo itself, can represent an idea or values, they can be wings that stand for freedom or speed, and the bridge that connects them can stand for unity (just some ideas). Anything goes in logo design, the important thing is the meaning and person attached to it. In my opinion, Hamilton´s logo is great because it has nothing to do with F1 or his number, therefore it can be seamlessly used together with fashion, music, or any other colaboration.
Tommo, at the end of the season could you please rank every race of "THIS" season from worst to best, yes its going to be a shorter season but there has been plenty of amazing races and i would like to see your opinion on them.

Actually thought it looked like something from Wipeout, look up the menus of Wip3out then keep in mind that one of the teams is AG Systems in red and white for the triangle.
That double thickness in Alex Albon logo is extremely disturbing it haunts me in my dreams. But no way that was unintentional. There must be a reasonable explanation. We need to get to the bottom of this!
Nah it’s acting like a shadow, so that the horizontal line tucks behind the righthand upright thing. Attempting to give some depth. At least that was my initial thought
Lando: Sublime Kvyat: Looks like a discount supermarket Max: (simple version without the bling) menacing and powerful, perfect for Max Stroll: Not as good as Lando's Charles: Very "racing" style Albon: Looks a bit thin and tall like him, idea is ok but should be refined KMag: Looks like a fashion brand (like his personal sponsor so maybe they made it for him) Perez: Bland Sainz: Looks like the road runner Latifi: Looks like Nespresso Icon: Just no

1. Lando - Just absolutely perfect! 2. Alex - The stacked A really does it for me 3. Charles - Super clean on paper, and I love how the C looks like a helmet 4. Max - it is really clever and looks super cool 5. Pierre - Cool but a bit unoriginal 6. George - Clever and good on paper but I just don’t know what’s wrong with it lol 7. Lewis - Really simple; looks like a literal clothes brand 8. Danny Ric - I love optical illusions!! It also just looks really good 9. Daniil - not a super big fan of the supreme style, but it looks good so 🤷🏻♀️ 10. Lance - Looks like Lando’s just lamer, but still; I like that style 11. Kevin - Not my cup of tea, but nice! 12. Sebastian- Love the German flag but other than that, it’s just an S in a circle ⭕️ 13. Carlos - Just not a huge fan but it’s okay 14. Valtteri - I like it but same with you, I have never ever seen it before 15. Nutella Nicky - Cool, nothing special 16. Romain - idk just don’t really like it 17. Checo - Probably should be higher, but idk 18. Kimi - 🫶JLemon🫶 19. Antonio - Not feeling it rn 20. Esteban - no, just no. That’s all! Ik I’m late but yeah!!
Tbh the ‚,clean initals‘‘ style logos look good but to me the‘re kinda boring and since they all look very similar they don‘t really have a personality
That’s not kimis logo. Isn’t it the symbol that on top of his helmet it looks like something out of Star Wars I like it. Nah I refuse to believe that’s it Edit: also I love Lewis’s logo because like Kimi it’s an actual icon. And it’s not trying to just put his name and number in shapes

Think exactly the same. A logo doesnt need to be graphically related to a brand's name or characteristic. I'm not even Hamilton's fan (hope he retire soon, for F1's sake lol) but his logo is my favourite. By the way, I think Max's logo is one of the worst over there, only Ocon can win against him there. Max's logo looks like some logo used back in PS1 games time.
I feel like Latifi's logo deserves some love. Especially the one with the 6 added to the NL. It is so well balanced in my eyes with the sharp edges from the N and the 6 to round it out. At least a top 5 logo.
1 is Kimi cause I love the graffiti style especially the merchandise that Kimi does with Jesse James 2, Lando cause I’m a fan of the use of hidden messages like youd see in Ryan Villopoto logo. 3, Seb cause it gives me a classic race number vibe to me 4, George Russel with the mix of styles 5 Checo because of the hidden 11 is clever 6, AG99 for like a graph style 7, Alex Albon though I’d love to see him incorporate a 23 somewhere 8, Romain Grossjean for the unique and older F1 esque style. 9, Charles Leclerc because it’s simple but same time wish it was more creative but the colors work. 10 , Kmag for the surfer style it had 11, Ocon because it just has so much going on 12, Pierre because it’s hard to tell what’s going on, 13, Carlos as it’s just seams like he went with a Paul Ricccard style 14, Verstappen as it’s clever but just isn’t my style though I appreciate the creativity 15, Latifi because the L is hard to really see as a L 16, Bottas because that just seems like a blend of random lines to create one distinctive style 17, Daniel Ric because the blocky style is hard to tell what it is from up close but from afar it works 18, Lewis because while it looks good for a brand style, just really doesn’t do it for me 19 Stroll because his style was similar to Landos, Strolls just doesn’t seem to work nearly as well 20, Kyvat because to me it’s a blatant rip off with no creativity behind it.
If one day Max decides to create a car company, his logo would look great on it. I also the same applies for Charles, they just look enough eligible for that. Nice vid Tommo, you nailed it again, mate.
My list: 20. Kvyat (its just a rip off of a bad logo) 19. Magnussen (just what) 18. Ocon (Dude...) 17. Ricciardo (im sorry but, if i wouldnt knew its about him i couldnt read the DR) 16. Sainz 15. Gasly (i think its weird and looks bad) 14. Vettel (not special) 13. Latifi (hmm...) 12. Grosjean (at least he tries something else) 11. Verstappen 10. Räikkönen (not my cup of tea either, but better than the most) 9. Perez (looks like from the early 2000th, still brings home the point) 8. Hamilton (Is it a bird, is it a plane? No its a cat) 7. Bottas (only ranking he surpasses Ham .-.) 6. Giovinazzi (a bit too high for my taste but if im honest i barley like any of these) 5. Albon (okay) 4. Leclerc (good) 3. Stroll (better) 2. Norris (damn awesome) 1. Russel (why is nobody liking this? D:)
my top 1.Lewis (exotic, refined, fits his style) 2.Max (the eyes of the lion!) 3.Lando (negative space) 4.Charles(works well as a pattern in his helmet) 5.Pierre (looks very on the edge, technological)
I always thought Kimi's logo where this sort of devil/predator horns which are visible on his helmets (definitly on the older ones, dont have his current one in mind). I personally like the logo you showed, it seems to be taken straight out of the 90s (which I like), for me it represents his 'I give no fuck'-attitude.
20. Kvyat 19. Kimi 18. Ocon 17. Sainz 16. Gasly 15. Magnussen 14. Grosjean 13. Vettel 12. Bottas 11. Gio 10. Max 9. Checo 8. Lewis 7. Stroll 6. Russell 5. Latifi 4. Charles 3. Alex 2. Daniel 1. Lando
Interesting video. None of them are truly outstanding logos (in my humble opinion) but it’s surprising to see how bad some of them are in a sport of this level of excellence. =20 Ocon. Agreed! Poor design in almost every possible way. =20 Bottas. Curves and bevelled corners in the same design. Inconsistent spacing… looks more like ‘JB’ or even ‘JNB’. Truly awful! 18 Grosjean. Dull and dated. 17 Vettel. Amateurish. Circle and ’S’ outlines clash and overall looks like a forced fit. 16 Kvyat. Cop-out! Red box with some tilted typography… lazy and derivative. 15 Perez. ‘Badge’ makes it super-cluttered. 14 Sainz. Bland, boxy and unbalanced. 13 Magnussen. Another red box with some white typography. 12 Russell. Formulaic and unresolved. 11 Giovanazzi. ’99’ ruins it… it should have been incorporated as negative space into the ‘G’. Also, red triangle gaff unforgivable! 10 Verstappen. Uninspiring, would be better as an outline and/or M & V integrated more cleverly. 9 Raikkonen. Could have better legibility but at least it has a unique style amongst this lot. 8 Gasly. Inoffensive but contrived… forced ’P’ not immediately obvious. 7 Leclerc. Neat but unremarkable. 6 Stroll. Neat. Similar to Norris logo but doesn’t work on as many levels. 5 Latifi. I like the clever diagonal cut through the letters of his name but too subtle when viewed at small size. Dislike box. 4 Hamilton. Interesting, curvy approach. Would be higher if it wasn’t ridiculously spindly. 3 Albon. Despite the schoolboy error it’s one of the most distinctive and less generic here. 2 Ricciardo. I prefer this approach to Norris’ but being slightly unbalanced lets it down. Needs tweaking somehow, possibly by extending the ‘D’. 1 Norris. Agree… clever (and lucky) to have those initials with that number!
Why everybody complain about Albon's logo.. I think there is reason the line to be double... It is to show "L" as his second letter in his forename and surname.. I personally like it. The best is MAX!
Great vid as always Tommo!! Love Lando's and Danny Ric's logos 😍😍 using them in a McLaren livery video for my channel. You should do a video of you redoing the logos that are pretty meh!!
I'm sorry, but if George's logo isn't the best, I will be MAD. It represents both his race number (63), AND his initials (GR). Edit: 14??!? TOMMO ARE U MAD?
My list of best to worst logo's: 1: Lando Norris - Everything comes together 2: Nicholas Latifi - I like this one, not perfect, but great still 3: Alex Albon - Didn't know of that logo, but the double width doesn't bother me as much, great one. 4: Lance Stroll - Almost as good as Lando's, but like it's still missing something 5: Charles Leclerc - I came to like it, and the blacked piece inside of the C looks like it's a helmet (also noted somewhere else in the comments) 6: Max Verstappen - Clear and easy, not as special as the ones above 7: Sergio Perez - Looks great, first time I noticed the hidden 11 8: Daniel Ricciardo - It's somewhat hard to read the DR initials in there 9: Sebastian Vettel (the 5 with the German flag version. The S shaped one on his website would be higher) 10: Lewis Hamilton - No actual reference to his name, but I see some kind of wing shapes in there 11: Daniil Kvyat - Neutral, don't hate it, don't love it 12: Kimi Raikkonen - It's because we know he's "The Iceman", but the font is almost "too much going on" 13: Carlos Sainz - It does look a bit out of balance, but a few tweaks should make it a nice logo 14: Kevin Magnussen - Meh. nice that it's different from the other driver styles, but that's it 15: Romain Grosjean - It's that gradient part that ruins it a bit yes... 16: Antonio Giovinazzi - I don't like the font of that one 17: George Russell - I see what they mean, but it doesn't work 18: Pierre Gasly - It looks a bit forced, I don't like it that much 19: Valtteri Bottas - Really everything rammed together, including hidden 77. The regular VB77 on his helmet would be a lot better 20: Esteban Ocon - Talking about forcing something to work... This takes the top spot and it doesn't come together. I think it would've been better to seperate EO and 31 as the font is not bad. The O going in to the 3 is just not working.
Isn't Vettel's logo the inverted triangle with an s-curve through the middle of it? He always had it on top of his helmet when at Red Bull, and it is still at the top of his website - www.sebastianvettel.de/
Only Logos that do not look like a 5min job on Photoshop is Hamilton’s and Magnussen‘s Logo. Lando‘s logo is so boring only diffrence to the other logos is the colour.
10:49 The fact I've been watching you for so long and I thought you already had several hundred thousand subscribers shows how underrated this channel is.
@@Promissed_ actually you can go all the way back to f3 and maybe before and landos had that logo, he just moved the spacing to incomparable the 4 when he got to f1. Seems it was his first👀
I dont get design and fashion things i just dont get them... The Things i cant even Read the Names from he is Ranking higher! Im just glad i dont have interest in such unnesacary things...
Max Verstappen's logo without the blingy effects is incredibly strong in its simplicity. As someone else said in the comments, it would be an amazing car logo. Daniel's logo is stylish but just too complicated, nobody will recognize the initials in it. In the end, Lando's logo is indeed head and shoulders above the rest with a simplified, no texture version of Max' logo being second.
