Dota 2 usually spike on August it's because of the International. And some players like myself doesn't have time playing dota 2 anymore, but we still watch TI.

He's not tracking the game, he's tracking the search terms, so if someone searches "Counter Strike: Global Offensive" it'll still be counted because it contains "Counter Strike". Likewise, if someone searches for "how to counter strike against government oppression", that'll also be counted. But yes, searches for "cs" and "csgo" are probably not counted.

I am from China. There’s no restrictions on games. I guess the data is missing because some popular games such as league of legends has all Chinese in a server separated from the rest of the world. And google didn’t or can’t count that. I guess league of legends is the most popular.

the reason that those types of games are popular in the Philippines is most people dont have access to high end stuff and tend to go to internet cafes or just play in slightly oudated stuff (like those optiplexes with 2nd or thrid gen i5s) and we know that roblox, league and dota can almost run on a potato.

I'm not sure for Iran, but for exemple in morroco, a lot of people don't have a gaming console or computer at home and go in what we could call game center (just a bunch of TV and ps3 where people pay hourly to play) And in there, GTA and FIFA are hugely popular, that could explain why GTA is so popular in Iran if it's the same there. I should precise those game center were really popular when i was younger but they are less and less now from what i see, i don't live there and didn't go out that much in others place than the sea and restaurant those last few years

These are the search results from Google analytics. It doesn't mean its actually being played in any country. You can search anything what's going on in any country basically what's people been searching in that particular country. It also gives comparison of states. So its a Google search data basically

Yes we do have game centers here in Iran(we call the gamenets) though another reason for the franchise's success could be the popularity of ps2 because like every other household had one(though I am not old enough to know for sure)

You got the old counterstrike when you searched, the current version is counterstrike global offensive, mostly referred to as csgo Edit: Just tested, seems like typing counterstrike:globaloffensive is the most popular search term
