While all of them are great in combat. We can all agree that the blades of exile offer a lot more fast paced moves and animations. + The way kratos moves with them is just phenomenal.

Blades of Chaos will always remain my favorite, because of the bone chilling history behind it. I can still hear Gaia's voice narrating the words "the Blades of Chaos, forged in the fowlest depths of Hades, once attached they remain chained and seared into the flesh of the bearer as a permanent reminder of Kratos's pledge".

The blades of Chaos is iconic, but Exile has the best feature, allowing you to launch yourself to an enemy never gets old. My favorite though is the blades of Athena from the start of GoW II

I really like the Ascension version of the blades because of the elemental versions they each have, fire,ice, souls and Lightning. Clever way to give the blades more move sets and to tie the magic into them. Plus usually the blades overshadow any other weapons you obtain so it makes sense to just concentrate all effort on making the blades the focus just with different powers

it was disappointing for me when you didnt have an option in gow 2 to use the Blue blades of Athena. Especially in new game+. they looked sick and performed nicely

My favorite version of the blades are the gold ones you get at the end of the first game. They’re just a nice reward for beating game no matter the difficulty

I do love the nordic runes on the Blades in the newest God of War! They look so clean and sharp at max upgrade! And the sound of the Chains is nice. I loved the sound even back in God of War Ascension

Theres something you forgot tô mention in the Blades of Athena in GOWIII that separate them to the Blades of Exile, If you use L1+X Kratos uses the Icarus wings tô Launch ALL enemies arround on the Air with you is a good crowd Control ability being able to throw a lot of enemies in the Air at once for combos, i really wanted that Santa Mônica ported the Greek saga to PC where people could make a mod where you can access both Blades at once in one single playtrough (maybe activation working like the DarkSlayer Style in DMC4 by pressing up twice)

Well so here we go: Design: Athena's Blades at level 3 (GoW2) - Since there are so many variations on design based on the level of each blades except Exile, i definitely go with Athena's Blades at level 3 from GoW2, even though i really like most of each different designs throughout the saga. Damage: Blades of Exile Crowd Control: Blades of Chaos (GoW1) Sound FX: Blades of Chaos (2018) Speed: Blades of Chaos (Ascension) - The game by itself is insanity with it's speed Moves: Blades of Exile Some fun little facts, the Blades of Athena in GoW3 takes way longer to kill enemies because the damage output is the same as the Blades of Exile at level 1, same goes for the golden and blue Athena's Blades from the start of GoW2, they do the same damage as their level 1 counterparts from later in the game, i think devs did this so you're not too overpowered right by the beggining of the games. Anyway sorry for the long text, really aprecciate how deep you went with this video, thanks man, for real, really shows your love for this.

I agree with you for the blades of exile, you can grab even the minotaurs that shit is crazy. The other reason I really like the god of war 3 is that you can do so many combos with the other weapons too!!!

Tbh the blue blade's of athena are my personal fav mainly for the way it looks with yellow/gold design but move wise it's very much solid for it's combo's and i found it the easier out of all the blades to mix combo attack's without repeating the same combination of move sequence's plus the speed of which the blades of athena goes anyway usually makes up for it's short comings.

For me its god of war 2's blade , the design and moved are so cool, i havent played god of 4 so i cant say about that And the blades of exile's launch urself to enemy is super useful but god of war 2's blade are my favourite

Ascension Blades of Chaos will always be my favorite simply because of the sound design. they really made the blades sound the way they should when you slam them to the ground and the chains whipping and jingling around and the echo of the zeus lightning and Ares fire explosions are absolutely phenomenal

one thing you forgot to ever mention is that The Blades Of Athena in GOW3 keep the base damage throughout the game. You cannot upgrade the damage meaning you're doing the damage you were doing at the beginning of the game. While The Blades Of Exile are able to be upgraded and gain more damage. I wish the damage carried over to Athena's blades when you use the item but i though I should mention it.

32:04 that hold square is the fastest way to stack multiple "thera's bombs" in the enemies, really good to take down the armored cyclops as the bombs will destroy a piece of armor and stagger him each time. If I'm not mistaken, every combo finisher stacks a thera's bomb in enemies, witch usually staggers them, that's something that I always find usefull against crowds, becaus you can do square > quare > turn thera's bane + triangle, you'll put a bomb in almost everyone in the screen

Blades of Chaos from the first game has always been my favorite, just because of the looks of the blades from upgrading it. The first level which makes it look like the flames are at its weakest, and you can see how tiny it is when attacking. And it continues to get more aggressive, and bigger, until it reaches max level, where things are at its biggest, and brightest. Always loved the red and white color.

I love all of the blades but my favourites are certainly the Blades of Athena from GoW 2. There isn't any particular thing that makes them my favourite it is just that they are the best feeling blades imo and GoW 2 is my favourite game of the series in general

Im more attached to the blades of athena than anything else. You have them on gow2, gow3 (it is also the blade of exile at heart), and ghost of sparta. That is the most used blades in god of war so i like em the most. It and blades of chaos also can also be used to skip the long initial attack animation of the triangle move so its great on large monsters.

I think it's up to preference but my favorite will always be Blade of Chaos purely because of the symbolization and meanings that it holds behind it. It's the blade that started it all, the blade that felled his family and ultimately, in an ironic double twist, is the one blade to help him the most and the one that betrays him the most. It may not be the best but it sure as hell packs a lot of meanings behind every swing
