Halo 3 is one of the few gaming masterpieces that will ever exist. It was truly a privilege to experience in its prime. It was the best game at the perfect time and nothing like that experience can ever be recreated ever again. I'm convinced of that. It's a sad feeling to know it will never happen again, but I'm so thankful that I got to be a part of it.

Is it just me, or does T-bagging seem the most insulting in Reach?

Personally my favourite is Reach, though I understand your points and everything. Maybe its just because I was younger and was more of a casual gamer, but I'll never forget playing big team battle on forge world, infected with my friends, and building bases and fighting my friends on forge. I guess thats nostalgia but I enjoyed the video either way

Personally, Reach is the best for me. As a kid I loved the fact that it had effects and sounds (like the happy kids screaming “yay”) that would pop when you beat someone. Also, seeing the huge medals and awards, whilst having a badass narrator made me feel like I was playing an arcade game and it motivated me to win. Not to mention, the incredible design the armors had. I would play so much just to be able to reach (no pun intended) the design I wanted. I thought the graphics were insane too.

I truly love reach, but 3 is without a doubt one of the greatest multiplayer experiences in gaming history

I still will always be biased towards reach for it's amazing forge and custom games. No matter how many other games I play, nothing ever gets close to a Friday night full lobby of Reach forge modes. The game modes and maps people came up with are honestly more iconic than the actually multiplayer maps, Assanation tower, Ghost Busters, 5 levels of terror, get off my house, mongoose racing, literally creating an open world map with the basic forge map, h1z1, infection. I had more fun playing reach then any other Halo and I believed the sheer amount of content from forge should have given it an 10/10 for your category 6 ranking.

Halo 3 was a fucking godsend and extremely innovative. Everything about that game was raw, beautiful, honest and downright fun.

I’m sure somebody has said this, but if you listen to the reach commentary, they turned the multiplayer maps into campaign maps, not the campaign maps into multiplayer maps.

Lordy I remember when Reach was new. That felt like the definitive peak of Halo. Halo 3 was a raging fireball of hype but Reach was like the community ascended once again to its final form. With a heartfelt sendoff from Bungie, a part of me kinda knew that this was the peak

My favorite will always be Reach for multi-player I loved most of the maps especially for big team battle and especially the vehicle play. The falcon will always be my favorite air vehicle because it was just so good. The dmr was nice with the assault rifle and Forge was amazing. I liked the armor abilities to be honest it adds more combat variety. All the armor options were beautiful too. And it was Bungie's send off.

Hot take. I think halo 4 had an amazing multiplayer and great forge mode. not the best multiplayer but super fun and I look back on it fondly

I like, in this order: Reach, 5, 3, 4, 2, CE Honestly going into MCC and playing Halo CE multiplayer in 2021 is rough. So many features that I take for granted in the newer titles.

Another big innovation with Halo 2 was having playlists rather than lobbies. I was slightly familiar with Counter Strike and Team Fortress and choosing a server was cumbersome, you had weird downloads, lots of player favoritism and everyone had a different skill level. But in Halo 2 you selected a play style and 3 minutes later you were killing dudes.

I hope this gets some views by someone. You mention that you don't know what happened but it is fairly evident to me, they made all of the character models much larger starting in halo 4. This has the effect of forcing 343 to slow characters down to not outpace the game field. This also has the effect on Halo Infinite (at the very least) to make the maps feel tiny and I feel this is also why getting splatter kills is harder (the vehicles aren't massive in comparison to the characters anymore). Aiming felt more mandatory back in the day and there was so much of that (I call) Bungie Assist because it was harder to hit the tiny target that was another spartans head. Nowadays their head (even at a decent distance away) will fill your reticle and they have to balance shield and accuracy around the head being so large.

technically, Halo 2 and 3 are CE's YOUNGER brothers.. just sayin' :D

I know alot of people considered it bad but i got halo 4 for free on my 360 and i loved it so much, i threw myself in it for a very long time with friends grinding out challenges for armor like the venator armor and such and loved the idea of sp ranks, ce, 3, and 4 imo are my favorite multiplayers

Halo Reach has been out for an astonishing 10 years now and has held up phenomenally. Although definitely a little rough around the edges, I believe its playability in 2020 proves how strong the game was and is.

Halo 5 Now lemme explain... for the good, When I play Btb on 4, I don’t have to worry about getting shot at from 999,999,999 miles away by two people with dmr’s randomly like in reach. You get to play as the flood, assassinations, four precision weapons to choose from, armor abilities aren’t insanely overpowered while still being useful. And reach because invasion(when sweats dont ruin it), 4v4, needle rifle, awesome vehicles, its easy to learn how to get good, firefight versus is cool. Halo 2 anniversary because its just halo 2 but improved. Sadly there arent a lot of maps, new weapons and vehicles are sweet. Btb isnt fun for me. But free for all is fun and capturing modes are alright. New customization for spartans looks nice, and graphics are beautiful. For meh... well, halo 3.. look, ive been playing halo 3 for a long time, but people who play like mintz blitz just ruin it all. Getting good is simply impossible, and in every match im either being carried or theres a e-sports wanna be low life on the other team demolishing us. In mcc, the skill based match making is... it doesn’t exist. Im eh at the game and I cant do well cause im put with people who are Pros. Act man mentions in the video that you can still suck and help the team, but now a days, i just dont see that. Its fun when im put with people my level, which is rare, and action sack and free for all are the only times i fully enjoy halo 3 multiplayer. For halo 2, its the exact same. Expect slightly worse. I love game modes that start without battle rifles because i cant just randomly just get screwed over at long range. For dumpster fire... oh boy. I know, i know, but hear me out, in halo CE, there might as well be no assault rifle, which is supposed to be your main weapon, and spawn killing is just awful. I have no idea how people do so good with the pistol. When i use it, i aim at the head, shoot, but i still die. If there was no pistol and better spawns, CE would be next to halo 2 anniversary. Halo 5 needs no explanation. It’s terrible. Pistol is just... insane. Battle rifle, sucks. In warzone, step out of base, your either gonna get sniped by someone infinity miles away, smoked by a vehicle, or someone hiding in your base with invisibility or the arbiter’s sword (forgot the name) kills you before you leave. Only feista is fun. Rarely. Looking at 36:45 and listening to that sick music is so awesome. It gets me so hyped. Seeing that dude running through a battlefield with a flag, people using assault rifles on each other, people boosting out of dangers way, teamwork, its so badass. Warzone being complete madness with four teams against each other. I wish the game was like that.

As a dedicated halo fan, I can easily say that halo: CE is my 1st favorite. There is nothing better than getting your friends together on a weekend to play a lan game until we could barely keep our eyes open. My 2nd favorite would be halo 3, for all the same reasons. Then halo odst. Then halo 2. Then halo infinite. I haven't played 4, 5, or reach.

playing halo 2 as a kid was by far the greatest gaming experience i have ever had by far. between the campaign, multiplayer, and custom games this game was so amazing. i spent more hours on this game than anyone else. i wish videogames could be more like halo 2 nowadays.

Halo 5’s war zone and breakout are up there with my favorite multiplayer experiences. The crazy amount of weapon and vehicle variants also kept things fresh even though the war zone map offering was slim. I miss so many H5 weapons.

Halo 3 custom games.

To the people who think reach is the best… you were simply too young to enjoy Halo 2 and 3. There could be a debate between 2 and 3 for first place, although I think most agree Halo 3 is the more complete game, but to believe Reach could be anything more than 3rd place is completely insane. It’s literally not even close. I’m truly sorry you weren’t able to fully experience the greatness of the earlier halo multiplayers.

Its purely nostalgia based, but I loved playing Halo 3 in high school with my friends. Reach came out after we all graduated and moved away. Now with Infinite we had a reunion. Even if it's lacking in content it feels like a return.

Halo 3 is timeless. The graphics still look great by today. The maps all play well. The weapons are balanced. Honestly if it was released today it would still create waves just like it did back in the day

To me, i played Reach the most, so that was probably my favorite overall because of all the things my friends and i were able to do in Forge and the amount of hours i played it. But Halo 3 was definitely the best multiplayer...i feel like it's just a gimme.

Bloom made Reach's multiplayer almost unbearable at times. If it was removed, or less aggressive, it'd be one of the best multiplayers

Reach for the sheer amount of custom game options and amazing forge, armor customization. Invasion mode with elites vs spartans was amazing too. I care about that stuff more than balance but thats just me

I completely agree with where you put halo 4, but at the same time it was the first halo game I played and I have so many good memories playing customs with friends on Valhalla. For that reason it will always have a special place in my heart.

I like Halo Reach personally because I didn't care about being competitive back in the day and I liked the vehicles, btb, and all that Fuck though Halo Reach should've had more space combat If I said all time best for the community it was probably halo 2 if we had to reuse a Halo and put new content into it and call it Halo 6 I think halo 2 would be tge best choice. it's good all around.

Two of my favorite Halo games both of which I’ve loved for very different reasons. Halo 3 had the best maps and Sandbox. Halo 5 had the best movement and gunplay.

I've played every single Halo since Ce came out but for some reason the one that stuck with me was Reach. I just loved that game, and even tho I agree with the multiplayer stuff I still feel like I can forgive it because Forge was so good it made me forget about the rest.

Reach forever underrated...

Just to be able to be a part of that release of halo 3 and playing the multiplayer that first year was something that would never be matched. It’s like the video game equivalent of the Beatles. Not just the best halo but the best online shooter on console ever.

21:40 - Although I can understand people wanting more variety, I enjoy playing the same maps over and over again in multiplayer for 100s of hours. You get to really know the maps well. That might sound like sarcasm but I am being legit here. You can't play new maps well, that's just the way the mind works.
