Great video! Just some additional notes to add, we currently own 5 of the Heat Press Nation Signature presses and the quality has decreased significantly over the last year. The first 3 presses we purchased were great, however the last 2 we've purchased in the past year are terrible. The pressure is very inconsistent and we've had transfers pull up and peel consistently. Absolutely not worth the money. It seems that these presses became popular from RU-vid videos and in an effort to keep up with demand, the quality has dropped dramatically. The company also does not stand by their product. They do respond promptly to emails, but don't provide assistance other than directing customers to pre-made support videos. Small businesses should be very wary about these presses, especially considering the cost.
Interesting, I keep seeing people talk about them. Where else would you suggest people find heat presses? Amazon is a no, I was going to go with heat press nation because it has been said over and over that they have reliable customer support, and backing for their presses.
I’m not sure why people say stay away from Amazon? There’s usually a really cheap warranty offered. If you have an issue never contact the seller directly use the Amazon app they have to respond in 48 hours…
In my area - you can't find any Epson eco-tank printers, except at Costco. If they have them in stock. My suggestion is look for a wide format printer (something that will print 11x17) this will let you sublimate larger shirts. I hope you like your heat press.
I appreciate this video so much! I am new to this craft and I’m on the fence about which machine to start with or even to make the leap into the business. I really like it but I am afraid of failing 😬
I have the “fancier studio Power Heat Press” I can definitely say that it’s a work horse and will get the job done! I’ve pressed 50 plus shirts in a day at 350 degrees with no issue. However, pressing shirts at 400 degrees (sublimation) I have found that the adhesive that holds the foam in place gets loosened and the work surface will expand and bubble up. It’s a machine that I have to give it a rest every hour or so.
Ive been using the 12 x 15 swing press for how many years now.I just bought the 16 x 24, I am excited to use it for my orders... it is really heavy. lol
Coupon is still active for the starcraft. Saved $23.00 +got a big roll of transfer tape for free(free with 75+ order) Thanks Sallie! Almost got the Amazon press and there were a lot of negative reviews from the more recent purchases. Maybe the quality has gone down. Not wanting to risk it, I ordered the starcraft instead.
I would love to have the HPN 16x24 press but it is way out of my budget for just starting my small business. I definitely see making that investment in the future though. I was able to test a very small swing away press for a day. I have to admit, coming from a Cricut press user, I felt pretty official when swinging the press in and out lol but I think I will be purchasing the Fancierstudio press in a 16x20. That mug press looks great but again, way out of my budget while I am just starting my small business. I will have to continue my search for a mug/tumbler press. Thanks Sallie, love ya girl!
Awesome video, Sallie. I have the Cricut Easypress (9x9 and 12x10,) and I love it for HTV. Sublimation can get tricky, since the pressure is off. I am going to look into the heat presses that you mentioned. Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the video! I'm looking into heat presses for vinyl transfers (HTV), and there seems to be a lot of info about heat presses for sublimation, but can you use the same machine for vinyl, so long as it's set to the right temperature? Or would it be a bit too powerful? Thank you!
I have a 8-in-1 swing-away heat press that we got several years ago from Amazon. It does the job, but I've been wanting to upgrade to the 16x24, HOWEVER, I can't find a wide format printer. Now looking for that wide format printer.
I’ve been shopping on the Epson site - and I can’t find anything in stock anywhere. I’ll keep checking. So with it having an extra color how would you turn that into a sublimation printer?
Really helpfull video 😍😍 i think i will go with the blue one I have a question pls Why there is a huge price diffrenece btween amazon heatpresses and the last one?
I am a stay at home Mom going through separation in marriage. I have to start thinking about business. I am busy Mommy but cant depend on others to raise my kiddos and myself. I have been thinking of some kind of business and different ways to help myself. I am scared 😨 but your video gave me hope. I like the StarCraft heat press. Thank you for the info. Appreciated! ❤
Hi thank you for this video, do you know I’d=f there’s a heat press were you can open the shirt and put one half were you will press and the other half out , so it mark the neck area on either side of the shirt , I’ don’t know how to explain hopefully you understand my question thank you
Hi Sallie =) I notice over time I have heard/seen that the heat press will blow a fuse or cuts out power etc. do you just plug yours into your normal plug? I live in a rented condo and I have been afraid to buy one because of that lol now I do have my own electrical panel in here but still - just a little weary. I was hoping you were going to cover this but because you didn't I am thinking that maybe its just certain presses that have these issues and yours have not =) Thank you so much for your content =)
No one has answered this yet? Not sure if I should invest in a heat press if its going to blow the fuse of the entire condo lol I just need to know what steps I need to take if any. Thank you
Doesn’t blow fuse at all. You need to be mindful of how much amp the heat press using. Example let say is rated for 7amp and your breaker by default have 10amp limit, well let say you plug-in the heat press then you plug-in a printer that use 3.5amp. Well that will cause your power to cutoff for that area due to over exceed the limit. Those wall outlet share same breaker switch.
A very nice presentation. I have the Swingline/StarCraft press and I love it too. I gave mine it's own table. I got a nice Stanley workmate table and got 2 heavy duty clamps for the back to lock it to the table and it works fine.
I would love a press with a drawer. I got a Fancier press from Amazon two years ago and it works great but it is quite challenging to arrange things without burning myself or before they get too hot to handle. As for tumblers, I recently got the PNW tumbler press and I love it. This was very informative. Thank you!
Why can't I find anyone really doing reviews or recommending Stahls heat presses? They claim they're made in the US but I can't find anyone really mentioning them.
Great video. I have the Cricut Easy presses and I love them, but they are great for small and personal projects, so when I thought about starting a T-shirt business at home, I knew that I needed a big heat press. I went on Amazon and got the Vevor auto heat press. I have viewed several videos on people who had them, some people like them and some don't, but I got it because I couldn't afford the Cricut Auto Press and so far, I haven't had any complaints except that it takes up a lot of space, but it's nice that I can store it upright when I'm not using it. I will eventually want to get a manual heat press like in your video, because a lot of people swear that they are much better than the auto press, because you can adjust the pressure unlike with the auto heat press. I will definitely check them out. Thanks for the review. Knowledge is power.
Question: my husband said to get the best one and invest in the business. With your 16x24 from hpn do you have problems with scorching smaller items such as baby clothing due to the press being so large? And 2nd question, do you have to use butcher paper or does parchment paper work? I've seen mixed feedback on that for sublimation.
Do you know when they will have the starcraft back in stock? I've been looking for it and it's out of stock everywhere. Also any ideas for sturdy craft tables to hold a heat press, printer and circuit machine?
I have the Starcraft 8 in 1. There was no instructions in the box. Is the screen supposed to show how much time is left and is it supposed to alert you when the time is done? I had to go to RU-vid to set it up, which is fine; but, I have not found a tutorial showing what the screen is supposed to show as far as how many seconds are left to heat.
is this press much different from “swing design” because i see all the star craft are sold out but there’s one called a”swing design” and it seems the exact same. so i am confused if it’s just an off brand or a different brand itself? lol
can you use the mug press for candles ? .. it looks like a good investment. from what youve shown my favorite is the starcraft, looks stylih, affordable, durable, and has some attachments. Since I want to switch from using labels on my candles to a press / a transparent print, the mug press doing that would be greatt.. so just want to know if thats possible. The HPN looks greattt as an upgrade, I just cant believe these things are that heavy lol 130lbs ppl weigh that much , hopefully it works on my popup table well.
Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all this.. I appreciate it.. I have a question.. the sliding drawer heat press .. the 16x24 one.. does it make a clicking sound when its on?? Thanks again.
Hi sallie, im from canada and im having trouble finding a company with good quality heat presses that ship to canada, looking to spend $1000, do you have any recommendations? Tia
You are 100 % right about circut easy press . I found I need something bigger and better when dealing with pressures, hence why I am viewing your video. I really enjoy all the information you supplied and could only find the star craft at a good price site (out of stock but that’s ok) by your link… other sites price gouging at over 800 for the star craft.
I have a power heat press and I can't get the pressure right, when I get it to close all the way, it's too hard to open and close, any comments on how to fix it?
Another excellent video! What would you say the ratio is between laser engraved and sublimated drinkware is that you do? I plan to do both but I am interested in your thoughts on the different processes. Thanks.
Hi, it's been 7 months, what would you recommend on all those on this video and whatever new heat press that you got since then? My Easypress 12×10 has problem with the middle area for sublimation, no matter what I did.. Thanks
Sallie, I really appreciate you! I love the diverse videos that you put out! You are not only talented but so great at communicated and equipping others! Anytime I am interested in a new project or machine I search your playlist!
@@SimplySallie thank you for this, I have been contemplating a HP for over 2 yrs. I stumbled upon this video (with I needed) as I did not want to spend a lot being I am a newbie, thanks to you, your information I made my purchase… now I pray I can do stuff! Ty 🌺
Super helpful. Although…. I did buy one and it has arrived. LOL. I have the 9x9 easy press and I knew immediately it was too small. I got it a while back before I decided to get into sublimation. Even just doing shirts it was too small. I really want a mug press. Mine comes with attachments. I’m bed bound right now with COVID. So I can’t wait to open it. It’s sitting in my studio just waiting.
I spoke to a professional printer he advised the 15 by 15 unless u want to spend extra money for 4 inches you won't use. He made a point most images on shirts won't exceed 15 by 15 so why buy a bigger one
Thank you for the comparison video. I am shopping around at the moment. Trying to decide swing away or clam shell. Swing away I do have a concern with the amount of space needed, while the clam shell I do have a concern with the back of the press touching the substrate before the front. Granted you want quick closure to prevent that. Do you see any difference in the clam shell vs swing away and sublimation? Thank you in advance!
I love your comparison video. I have been strongly leaning toward the StarCraft press. Your honest opinion.. if you couldn’t afford to get two items. Like the press and a mug press.. Would you purchase the StarCraft press for the ability to have the attachments? Or Is it really to difficult and time consuming to change out the accessories? If it’s too much work I may not use them. Then that press might not be my best option. And that’s about my max for spending.
@@SimplySallie thanks for the response. I was using a 12x15 and tried to do a Xl shirt and it went horribly wrong. I ordered the 15x15 and hoping I’ll be able to do some larger size shirts. I think I had my design a little over sized for the XL shirt though.
