My 10th Gen iPad is perfect for checking email, paying bills, and watching RU-vid at the kitchen table or sitting in living room. It integrates perfectly with my M3 MacBook Air when I'm away from home. I'm not a creator, so I just need an iPad to do iPad things. It is also great for Teams or Zoom meetings.
I got the 11” iPad Air m2 upgraded from the mini 5 and snagged a good trade in with education discount. Paid under $400 after discounts for the base 128GB. So happy I did because my TV went out a month later 😂.. still haven’t replace it.
My daughter has an iPad 10, got it for her a year ago ($150 more than current price) and it’s a tablet I would recommend for the price - it will be in service for a while. As for future proofing: Apple has shown after 7 years they will end support for iPadOS. I have an old 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” and they just ended support - even though the 2018 iPad Air has similar specs (A10 only chip) and it is still supported.
2 months ago I bought a refurbished M1 iPad Pro 12” w/ 1TB/16GB + cellular for 850€. It is in perfect condition and came with only 6 battery cycles - couldn’t be happier with this purchase, absolutely amazing bang for the buck
I bought a 12” M1 iPad Pro 512GB in September 2021 and never thought of upgrading after. It is really good and the new models do not offer anything extra for an iPad.

i would personally buy the ipad air 5 instead of ipad 10, its a way better ipad in basically every way, better m1 chip with 2 extra cpu cores, 4 extra gpu cores and 2x the ram, laminated screen with smaller bezels and antireflective coating, faster usbc port, apple pencil 2 support and all that, its way better
@@dawsonlangley3586 true, but if you use your ipad as a laptop replacement, the chip is noticable faster, i have the M1 ipad air and its insanely fast and the chip came out in 2020
Just bought an M2 iPad Pro, wasn’t significantly more than an M2 Air, so it made significantly more sense since it has the same processor and a better screen, plus i dont need to buy a new Apple Pencil and can continue to use my AP2
@@afiefswift5403 If you don’t want the new Apple Pencil, the Pro is better in every way. As long as it’s not significantly more expensive, go for the Pro. (also make sure the battery isn’t too degraded)
IMO, I am still using iPad Pro 12.9 from 2018, and it still serves me really really well. Still receives OS updates, and the system still feels fairly fast (no lag, no delay).
Do not sleep on the gen 9 because the difference between the gen 9 and gen 10 is very small. You can get the gen 9 for under 200 bucks and it still is getting updates and has the latest os I have the gen 9 and the gen 10 so I obviously use both. Now as far as the other ones I can't say anything.
I wanted to upgrade from my iPad 10 256gb. I spent a week watching reviews trying to decide. I ended up getting the 11 inch M2 iPad Pro 512gb cellular for $899. I’m very happy so far. I wanted something more powerful for games and a higher refresh rate for drawing in procreate. I considered the M2 air, but I felt the M2 Pro cellular was a far better deal for around the same price since it was on sale at Best Buy. I also considered the new M4 Pros, but for the same storage, that’s was significantly more expensive and the M2 is still a very capable chip.
Looks like it's still a macbook Air or Pro for me. Would love touch, and LiDAR, but I really just need a full apple os to build out mobile games made on a pc for the apple store.
m1/m2 ipad pros are the way to go, only advantage of the m2 air is the support for the apple pencil pro. Otherwise you get more for your money with the „old“ Pro‘s.
I started with the iPad 9.7 inch, did some professional artwork with it, eventually made enough money to get the 11 inch iPad Pro (2018), and now I’m upgrading to the M4 12.9 inch because the profits have allowed me to do so. This was a very nice overview of Apple's current iPad lineup. Except for the fact that, you talked about my basic iPad 9th generation model. If this is your first iPad then, I suggest starting with the basic iPad 10th generation model (with 256GB) and if, you need more capability then in a future year, just upgrade to an iPad Air or iPad pro version (smile ... smile).
Thanks for mentioning the AI future proofing of the M4. The deciding factor for me to get the M4 was the large jump in trillions of operations per second (TOPS) of the M4’s Neural Engine. I think AI will be ubiquitous in these devices over the next few years.
I am torn between iPad Pro M4 11” and iPad Air 13” as the price is similar. Which one should I get? Currently on iPad Pro 10.5” 2017. I do use my iPad as media consumption, take notes, read books. For any heavy duty work, I still rely on my MBP Pro M1
I had the 9th gen iPad with 256GB of storage and i could sell it for pretty much for i paid for it 2 years ago. I was considering the Air M2 and the Pro M4 but i did choose Air M2 with 128GB with the education discount, where i got the pencil pro for free. The price difference was over 400€ for the Pro, which i simply cound't justify.

Should I choose M1 11 iPad Pro or iPad Mini 6? Also, is cellular worth it on iPad? (Mainly for watching yt videos, web browsing and note taking, and if using the iPad mini, maybe I will consider to take it outside with me so cellular would be needed for this). Currently have 2018 iPad Pro which is slow and sluggish with poor battery life after 5 years of use.

Base 11 Pro with M4. The other iPads doesnt make Sense at all. Buy the m4 and hold it for 4-5 years and you get a Crazy value Like the 2018 iPad Pro Buyers.

Since release I have been using the M1 11inch iPad Pro I came to USA for a holiday and picked up the refurbished magic keyboard from amazon still its not a Mac replacement but its really closer with the magic keyboard. I was also thinking about the esr keyboards but since there is a refurbished option for a first party keyboard for this price point its a steal. Still rocking the M1 iPad Pro its great overall still an option if you find one for real cheap compared to M2 or M4 versions (there is none to little difference between m2 and m1 ipad pro’s)
I bought the iPad Air 13” in purple. Very happy with it, unfortunately it makes me rethink my MacBook Pro 14” since they are so close in size. Had I known that I would get the iPad, when I got my MacBook I would have chosen the 16”. Maybe when M4 MacBook pros come out I can upgrade to the 16”.
The iPad Pro m2 or m1 is the one to get. Right now the m1 and m2 are within $100 difference, for longevity the m2 is probably better. No one should be looking at the iPad airs, get a used m1 or m2 pro.
Bad Advice because you’re not thinking of the needs of the average consumer do you honestly think the average consumer is going to care about 120 Hz? They do not? It’s about price performance and value and for me the iPad Air represents the best value for the Kaza, if you just want the basics, then I would recommend the 10th generation iPad for me the iPad Air strikes the balance because I don’t think an average consumer would make full use of the iPad Pro M2.
I just purchased the basic iPad 2022. Only need it for taking notes and light TV watching. For 90% of the time it’s my MacBook. IOS is no match for Mac OS.
Here’s what’s gonna happen…I have a mini 4 and been doing my research. Don’t want a 64 gig mini 6 so will save my pennies for a 256 gig which in Space Grey. Those NEVER seem available in the Apple Refurbished site. I will then bite the bullet and buy a new 256gb Space Grey. It will arrive and and I will be overjoyed! …one day before Apple release the mini 7 with a base storage of 128 gig at £499.00. MUTHAF~
Another click bait video. IMO, the only reason to buy a new iPad is if the one you currently own no longer supports the latest iPadOS. Even then, just go buy a good used one that does support the latest iPadOS.

Works for me on my iPad 10, watching movies, schoolwork, playing games perfect for me using 46GB (with iOS 18) out of 64GB, don’t know what you going on about, also running iOS 18 Beta
Simple don’t buy one, wait as all new iPads are on there way, you will need to wait until the university rip off ends 22nd Oct and then new M4 ipads will be realised
