Hi joe! Just to say i remember when you were thinking of leaving the youtube stuff and now look at you… you are producing some of the best content out there! Mega proud!
Warrens a legend. Totally different cars and chassis set ups. Drove a mates GT4 RS and his GT3 over 2 days at Spa this year. The drive there in my 992 C4S was epic... the drive back was depressing. FFS not that depressing but...I jump between my Gen 2 Macan Turbo (my daily) and 20 plate C4S all the time to get my kicks. Both excellent real world cars. Wish I could afford a GT3 touring but I can't get on the list and won't pay the ridiculous sums they're being offered for. Note being offered for not selling for. Joe the GT3 touring episode you did last year in Spain and Portugal is and was epic. It's RU-vid Gold.
This is why I never drive a car that's better than mine. I've been offered many a time. Ignorance is bliss. And be happy because most people can't even get into a new 992S or T or 4S or GTS or anything these days without a very long wait and an ADM plus ridiculous prices.
I'm fortunate enough to own a gt3 touring. This car is a masterpiece. The gt4 rs is a very cool toy but just not in the same league. I would even prefer the 718 spyder rs to the gt4 rs tbh
The weekend car should have been a manual! 😛 Amazing cars, lovely video. The emotional ending is just perfect! Congrats for the progress and growth on RU-vid!
So if Lamborghini had the Performante wing delete and called it Performante Touring would it be okay with people or it’s just Porsche brain dead fans that allow them to get a way with it🤦🏿♂️
@cmg5111 what a collection, your a legend for sharing, looking forward to a drive day with a Damo when the weather gets better. Joe - the joy of driving !
I just want a Porsche, any Porsche from the last 7 or so years and I'd be happy. I think a GT3 is a bit beyond my budget, plus the wife would kill me! Not re-mortgaging to buy a car!!
Track days and fun GT4 and for everyday use it has no to be the GT3. Of course thats if you can afford both otherwise it has to be the GT3 for sure if you have to choose one.
Should have place optional close open glass behind the seats to lessen the sound in the event we don’t want to. I own 1 and i wish there was like 458 spyder 😂
GT3 Touring as manual: The ultimate daily. GT4RS: the ultimative tracktool. I'm knowing the race versions of the two closely. Yes, the 992 is faster overall (more aero, bigger airbox), but the Cayman is much easier to drive, even in bad conditions. During winter testing we've mounted a "non race legal" engine once in Portimao. Porsche would not like it, cause the eleven always has to be the quickest car ;)
What a garage ! I’d be happy with either tbf. I have heard that the GT4 RS is very difficult to live with day to day due to noise levels. Both iconic cars.
GT4RS for me. Just special. I was fortunate to passenger for 100s of miles + some Nurburgring laps in one and it's just sensational. That intake is like nothing else. Prices have come down significantly as it's entering that zone where people have gone off it a bit as 'it's too hardcore for the road' which is what happened to the 964RS and the M3CSL.
I don't think that is the reason for the fallen prices. The price drop has hit all higher-end Porsches, maybe other brands too. People are just not buying these cars now.
I'm sure it's mega on track, I would love to put one against the clock with a GT3 (wing), my guess is the 911 would be quicker, but the 4 RS more engaging.... Maybe one day!
It's true, I love your review, it's so true, I've always loved Porsche, especially the GT4RS,that's the king of the track. The passionate sound seems to be calling the racers to conquer it
When are you going to post the review of the Cayenne Turbo e-hybrid with GT package. I'm trying to decide with or without! I love the glass roof, but the GT package doesn't have it. Is it worth foregoing for the better chassis. Keen driver but it won't be tracked. What do you think?
Honestly Id take either if offered, Rocking horse Do for enthusiasts (you cant get one unless your loaded). Despite the hate, a big fan of the boxster/Cayman chassis. My perfect garage a 992 Turbo S for daily, GT3 Touring for trips and a GT4RS for track......... Oh and a Lambo for "arriving" and the noise
I've definitely got to work on a better group of friends, I've got to give em a security deposit to just borrow a lawn mower. Great cars, great video...
Joe if I am allowed to suggest an improvement to your usual perfection, windex and stinkbug inspection before we ride together. Other than that, great vacation video.
Welcome to Melbourne Joe. Personally I love the drama and theatre of the GT4. Might get a little weary of it at times. But I'd soon miss it if I didn't have it.
Serious question. If you don't live next to the Autobahn or if you don't track, where can you use the full potential of this car on public roads? It's like constantly having blue balls because you have to hold back from the 5 seconds it takes u to get caught going serious speeds and getting impounded. In the US at least.
It’s really hard. I feel like I should be in prison when I return from a drive in my gt4 RS. It just makes you want to push it to 9k every second of every drive. Its a lunatic of a car
Wow, amazing. Two of my dream cars in one video. Sadly that’s only based on expectations, as I’ve never been lucky enough to drive either. The GT4RS looks an amazing piece of kit, but that GT3 Touring looks simply stunning. The 911 has always been one of the most beautiful shapes on the road and that blue GT3 is an amazing example of how good a 911 can look. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Can you feel a difference in ride comfort with those regular sport seats in the Touring, as opposed to the bucket seats in the Touring you drove last year? Great review!!
@@JoeAchilles1 Thanks Joe! I have a new Touring coming in February, and I've specced the 18 way seats, hence my interest. Love the channel! All the best!
I have 18 way seats in my GT3 as I’m 6’7” but they’re brilliant, I adjust them differently for different drives. Motorway is a very different setup to twisty road. Buckets as cool as the are wouldn’t offer the same flexibility. I know everyone says it has to have buckets… but I drive it daily
@@super71981 Thanks for confirming my suspicions! Glad I've specced them on my Touring which should (hopefully.. barring any further delays) be built on the 18th January.. I'm also hoping it doesn't arrive on Cup 2s.. if it does I'll be swapping them out for Pirellis or the other Michelin Pilot 4S (I live in Scotland.. better in our pissy weather) .The softer tire wall makes a big difference apparently. I too intend to use it properly. Good on you for driving it daily!! cheers
@@Cocky.Rooster Arguing with you on the internet is not really fun, but he is driving on a road, so you know it’s a road car as well. Lots of people drive these cars for fun on roads as well. Anyway I test drove a 992 S and a 718 gts 4.0 before sending my money over to the cayman.
@@jacebeleren429 well good for you jaceb. No one is arguing. I prefer the 911. Keep crying about my personal opinion if it makes you and your little cayman content.
