DJI Action 3/4 users: The Hohem covers the top and bottom of the rear screen, meaning you can't quickly swipe up (or down) to change any settings without removing the camera from the gimbal (unless you have the teeniest tiniest of fingertips to just catch it right.) The Hohem will only take the camera itself, no protective frame - its built specifically to hold a naked GoPro exactly and the little DJI looks a bit lost on the huge Hohem setup, plus you still have to slide it across to see and get access to the rear screen. Its a balancing act to release the camera, whereas the INKEE lets you add a standard DJI magnetic quick release mount, so you can swap the DJI around between setups, has compete view and control of both the rear and front screens. The INKEE is a neater and more compact gimbal, with more 'functions' like selfie mode and the only once ever used 'inception' mode... DJI haven't released a gimbal or the remote codes for their action cameras 'cos they want you to buy the Pocket 3, but the INKEE turns your Action 3/4 into an chunkier version of one. You can swap between the INKEE for smooth 'cinematic' shots and then stick your camera on your bike and rattle down a hillside. The only negative is the shitty cheap bag you get with it. Hope that helps someone 🙏
Thank you for your recommendation. I would like to purchase a gimbal for DJI action 4 and I may have to use attachments(adapter) for Ulanji j12 while filming. Is that possible?
Yes, I think that would be fine as the ulanzi j12 will attach via the USB port on the outside, away from the gimbal mechanism. You may need to balance it each time your using it or aren’t as it may slightly unbalance it when it’s on. But the gimbal’s more than capable of handling the tiny bit of extra weight.
Thanks for the great info. I purchased the Hohem iSteady. In addition to your review...In the carrying case of the iSteady it fits perfectly if you leave the GoPro in the gimbal. Also there is some space left for two GP batteries and a USB cable. So pack it up ready steady and you're good to go as soon as you're on the job or shoot some awesome material instantly.
I have a Weebill S and a Crane M2 for other cameras, but the Homhem iSteady Pro 4 appeals to me as you don't have to spend any time balancing any axis points for a Go Pro, which is what really appeals to me. Just slap the thing on! If there isn't too much difference in weight (between that and the Falcon) then the Hohem is what I'd definitely go for.
Yeah but I have the Hohem and every time I start the gimbal it is slightly tilted and I have to adjust it. It's annoying. Plus within the 2nd week of having the product, it stopped charging my GoPro from the Gimbal. I had to return it. We'll see how the replacement works out. Otherwise, I'm changing to another product.
Thank you :) it took me a while to do getting all the shots but i think I covered all the important information, i only forgot about hohem chargibg the camera though :/
Wonderful video! You mentioned even with these Gimbals, stabilization still needs to be turned on in Gopro to get the best results. In the case of Gopro 11, the stabilization is so good that during daytime shooting, gimbal is not needed. I 'd buy the gimbal for shooting in lowlight at night, you want to turn off stabilization in Gopro but if the gimbal is not doing its job well, then I'm not sure what's the point for getting a gimbal? Btw, I think Falcon Plus does slightly better stabilization job than isteady.
I think the same way as you described. why then buy a gimbal for go pro? I bought Inkee plus(shown here), but rarely use the gopro. Use mostly Samsung s22 before, now s-24 ultra. I have go pro hero 2 ad bought in 2012 I think and also used several times and sleeping in a box somewhere in my room. I should re-sell it , but that time I was sick for long time and forgot about Gopro 2
Fantastic review. Just amazing. I've never had anything like this. Tbh, never heard of a gimbal until last week. 🤣 I just want one for running mainly. I'm a sub 18 minute 5km, using an Akaso v50x camera.
Hello ... a quick question please. I an using a 3-axis feiyu gimbal that has a feature I just can not live without: When the camera is on my chest pointing to the front of me, the feiyu allows me to pull gently the camera downwards to adjust camera orientation up/down with the exact angle I need. This is a operation to be done several times depending on the terrain, and found no review that clarifies whether Hohem or Inkee gimbals would allow me to do the same. Thanks a lot in advance.
I really like the Inkee with the exception of the lack of motion time lapse, lack of a usb cover, and a lack of a travel case. I'm starting to lean toward saving up more and just go straight into a Zhiyun or DJI gimbal.
Nice video. As I was watching it I kept switching back and forth on which one I want. In the end, I think the hohem wins. Some of the comments below make me want to check out other brands first.
I am looking for a gimbal for shooting my walking videos with a gopro 11 black. I am using tge mediamod with an external mic on it and your videos helped me to choose. Thank you for your video and all the effort you put into it, I wish you good luck on RU-vid, keep pushing! 😊🎉
Good review, and despite the small differences, where I live, the price difference is more than you are presenting it here (basically the Hohem is half the price of the other). So in my case, it’s a no brainer
The Hohem gimbal i-steady 4 pro gets over the screen blocking issue by using the app on your smart phone, that's what the female side adaptor screw hole is for. Now to be fair they don't explain this on there manual from what i saw, but then again i read through it very lightly, lol. Also they don't supply the adaptor for a smart phone, so i would still say it's an unfinished product, but the handling is very nice, and the build is top quality. nothing is cheap.
On Inkee Can an action camera be setup vertically for vertical portrait mode filming with this gimbal? I know you showed the some what way to film portrait mode, Just curious about physically having the camera mounted vertically. Thanks!
I own both. Hohem iSteady Pro 4 app has a nice motion lapse feature, but sadly every time you run it the waypoints are lost upon completion. If you wish to repeat the motion lapse you must reprogram all the waypoints again. The Inkee Falcon Plus app has no motion lapse feature. Too bad.
i used to have hohem but i sold it don't like it bought inkee falc0n plus and used it alot 100x better then hohem and you have much control of the screems with media mod
I think hypersmooth doing much better than this two gimbal. But maybe it help when you shoot in low light because in low light, u have to off hypersmooth for better footage
@@Tomasz.Nowacki its suppose to do much better or nearly to hypersmooth, but suddenly.. its look so terible without hypersmooth on. For me, its not worth to buy. Just use the hypersmooth itself
Thanks for the comparison. I wanted to go with Hohem iSteady Pro 4, but I just realized that I am not able to use external mic without these useless add-ons, such as Media Mod or 3.5 mm adapter... In other words I should pay another 80 EUR for an additional useless weight, just because GoPro does not provide a direct access to its mic. And as a consequence, the choice of Hohem iSteady Pro 4 becomes for me useless too. Your video just confirmed that.
@@Tomasz.Nowacki Why is it so? Is it a matter of camera calibration? I was thinking that having GoPro with Media Mod would allow you to use an external mic (like for instance Rode Wireless Go). The receiver could be used and calibrated together with GoPro, and then connected to Media Mod using 3.5 mm cable (or actually calibrated with the cable as well). In that case, however, I agree that the cable should be the shortest possible. Isn't it a working option?
Well maybe if you had wireless lavalier or sth with a transmitter it could work, but i meant it wont work if you put an external mic on top of it , it would be either too heavy overall exceeding payload 200g or it would be front or back heavy and not possible to calibrate it, its already back heavy with just a light mod
@@Tomasz.Nowacki Thanks for your thoughts. Indeed, I forgot that besides the fact that the camera should move easily, there is also a weight limit. So the wireless transmitter should be really superlight. Hopefully the designers would find a way to bypass this constraint in their future models. I don't think GoPro would ever make the life easier regarding the access to their mic. And that would certainly result in an extra weight.
Hello Tomasz, which of these 2 would you recommend for DJI Osmo Action? I cannot decide, I have asked the Hohem store about compatibility but the answer is not satisfactory, it looks like I cannot use DJI Osmo with Hohem via the gimbal controls, strange. They replied: "When using iSteady Pro3 and Pro4, you can mount your DJI Osmo action camera in it (the size is ok for mounting) but you will not be able to press the gimbal button to control your camera as they are not compatible."
Can someone explain to me how you don't need to calibrate Hohem and it works the same way as Inkee? I am facing a choice and I am also leaning towards Isteady 4 pro
hi, is the Inkee have the time-lapse feature as the iSteady? I've checked by other means and I saw that is a lie that Inkee includes that feature, could you please help me with that? thanks in advance
:) i personally use the build in horizon leveling , its perfect for what i need it for, but as far as yhe gimbals are concerned i like hohem more because it has a motion timelapse and i dont habe to calibrate it
Are you sure the isteady4 can't do portrait? I'm confused as another reviewer said it could and showed that it could. Portrait mode is important to me and want to be sure on this. Thanks.
My friend if you have hero 4 and dont plan to upgrade your camera any time soon, i seriously recommend you looking for GoPro Karma Grip u will be more than happy using that gimbal
@@Tomasz.NowackiisteadyPro4 it's easy to use when mounting. Although it not compatible for other mod. But since this kind of mechanism for me is better, also the batt capacity its great. For begginer ,yes hohem is good.
I bought iSteady Pro 4 and gave it back. If this is the best then how does the worst work? This gimbal sucks, it's useless without hypersmooth - microvibrations, jumps. This cannot be compensated for in the settings. Wasted money.
GoPro 10 has super hysperstabilisation.. what's d use of these gimbals.. also with GoPro max lens mod has horizon lock features..plus GoPro is waterproof n can be use as action camera which is difficultwith this setup...why not use mobile with DJI om5 for rest of the features???
Gimbal is needed if you are shooting cinematic footages with ND filters. GoPro's hypersmooth cannot work well with ND filters, unfortunately. In low light condition, you don't need ND filters and can switch to a regular handheld stick and use its hypersmooth stabilisation.
Szar! Kikapcsolom a kamerát.
Just saying a clip for image centric focus should have decent image and audio whereas your clips has poor audio and bad image. if you promote a cooking recipe i expect food presented well. get my drift.@@Tomasz.Nowacki
