I like how people are saying Phoenix's revive effect makes it potentially better in the comments but it's a huge called by the grave target, D.D Crow. Literally anything that banishes it from the grave. The main man Trishula yeets it out of. Meta decks can out both. But with Dragoon they have to waste usually more resources to do so since it can't be targeted. Phoenix is jut a quick banish from grave after forcing the effect bait, i.e phoenix is easier to bait and get rid of dragoon u either have to beat a potential 4k beater usually that again cant be targeted etc. My opinion.
This is true if you run a non-HERO based deck for sure, but with Malicious Bane out you don't necessarily have to destroy DPE, and many combos can also bring out both Dark Law/Plasma and Dystopia. No bricks, and easy to run 2-3 copies along with 1 Dystopia, plus can be brought out with Cross Crusader.
That first effect is very underrated, I play this in my hero deck and the 200 attack decrease per HERO in your graveyard won me more games than the pop did. Fusion destiny plus any hero that you can summon is an automatic DPE+Plasma
Totally agree with you. My first impressions of the card wasn't great. I thought Dragoon was better, but then I did some testing with both [separately]. Enforcer + the package is a no brainer. Btw in the cons for Dragoon you could have said the discard for the negate. That can be annoying.
No contest Dragoon is more powerful. Sure Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer can destroy it self and one of my cards during my turn and then bring it back to the field during the next standby phase, but compared to Dragoon not even close. Dragon cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects, by tossing a card from your hand it negates the card affect your opponent activates and then gains 1000 attack points. Now this is where Phoenix enforcer and dark dragoon are similar. Phoenix enforcer can destroy cards during my turn since it’s a quick effect, and Dragoon cannot. However if you used to normal monsters fusion summon dark dragon not only can it destroy up to two of your monsters but whenever it destroys one by that effect it’s attack points are dealt your life points. So I’m sorry but hands-down dark dragoon is the more powerful monster. Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer is powerful but it’s not in the same league as Dark Dragoon. I’d rather deal with that then deal with Dark Dragoon. Now granted it’s destroy a card effect is a soft once per turn, it’s an easy target for D.D Crow, Called By The Grave, etc. Dark dragoon however unless you Kaiju it is practically indestructible.
Dragun of Red Eyes is better. It can’t be targeted or destroyed by card effects, can burn your opponents twice, and has an Omni negate. Sure DPE is powerful with its pop revive gimmick and can still help combos. However that thing still is vulnerable to destruction and banishing effects. As cubics player, I made DPE look like a joke on multiple occasions, and not just by using Crimson Nova.
Dragoon is better in VW because you don't need to run the engine at all, if you go down the zolkin line for crystal wing you can make Muddy mudragon and use the effect to basically cheat the dragoon out using ultimaya and itself as material, the discard cost for dragoon is definitely a pain tho because VW needs at least 2 card in hand as discard fodder for the spell effects
Dragoon is better by itself yes but Destroy Phoenix is much better for its deck. It doesn't need you to play bricks to use it, it alows you to set up a way stronger board then Dragoon and even if he dies he can come back to cause more trouble. If for example your opponent goes second and you just went first summoning Destroy Phoenix you would must likely stomp because you would have other supporting hero monsters like Plasma and Dark law but if the situation was reversed you opponent wouldn't have anything else other then dragoon and you could run him over. Overall Dragoon is good due to pure power but Destroy Phoenix is better because it offers a lot more then just a powerful monster.
When you trigger celestial, you actually remove DPE's attack drop since you have to banish both Destiny Heroes. If you run Mali and Denier, you have to run WAY more bricks since you have to run 2 copies of Mali to make it online. Denier is not easy to get online in non-hero decks, so its not really an option in anythign but HERO. Non Hero decks are gonna go Celestial and Dasher. If you go Celestial and Dasher, you better hope you get your dasher effect off before you use Celestial because you have to banish that Dasher as cost.
Litterally all the cards he mentioned are kinda useless outside of a hero deck except for celestial. They all require too much setup or need another turn to get online (because remeber you are locked into dark heros after). I think they will run 1x celestial + 1x Plasma just because Plasma sometimes does something when drawn.
I agree with most of qhat you say but I think you are downplaying dragoon too much. It's a beast of a card with an omni negate that destroys. Sometimes destroying a card isn't enough, the negate is infinitely better as it does what enforcer does but also negates. They both are quick effects. Combos will lean into enforcer package because of the bricks but stun and slower decks will probably favor dragoon
Bro, DH destroyer has weaknesses! You couldn’t find any? Wth man! That card is vulnerable to any HT! Yes it can dodge problematic cards but Dragoon is the overall better card on the field! Destroyer doesn’t prevent your board from being wiped, it can’t handle any situation since it doesn’t have an Omni Negate build in! The package is worse than DH Destroyer yes but Dragoon still outperforms Destroyer! EM, LS Raigeki, Slumber, desire, Prosperity etc. there are hundreds of cards Destroyer can’t interact with and you are telling everyone you couldn’t find any more cons? I think you are just biased towards Destroyer! Card is still amazing no denying that but saying that it’s better than Dragoon?! Naah Bro! Also Dragoon got banned in the OCG! Good indicator that Dragoon wasn’t fun to play! DH Destroyer is not ban worthy! Not at all! If you wanna prove me wrong we can wait when the card is released and you will see how It’s not oppressive! i find that dragoon is better in most decks however DH destroyer is better in a few decks. ones that are more gy based. I'd run dragoon in my dlink deck but id run DH destroyer in phantom knights.
So my main issue with dragoon is the bricks. Your main deck has to have 0 bricks to be good. Other wise you'll have 3+ whatever bricks your deck has. Thats almost unplayable. Also dragon got banned because its a different format with max c legal and it has been out for way longer than dfe. I think dfe will also be banned once they milk it enough in the ocg.
Great video bro and not to sound rude but dragoon Gaines 1k only when he negates and he only gets 1 negate per turn And It’s effect isn’t necessarily an Omni negate i consider herald of ultimateness and Omni negate
it's claimed to be the better of the two yet Dragoon will get banned and fuck over DM players 🙄....anaconda should get banned but it won't because Konami wants to make money of enforcer....bullshit....
Spoiler: I'm super biased. But even still, utility-wise, if I had to choose one, I would choose a whole omni-HERO board with DPE and friends than just one dragoon.
