My boy is 20months . He doesn’t respond to name or point . He is perfect with imitation, he is engaging with people , great eye contact. Does many gestures. Understand some commands/word only , not much . He can do the sounds of various animals and know many gestures of songs but that’s it . The autism assessment is in 8 months . Does it look it could be autism ?

Dear ma’am , my child has been watching TV since he was 10 months old to 2.5 years old, almost a full day up to sleep. Is it the result today that he still has not developed language, ( he is verbal, can count, knows all colors, animals & follows simple instructions ) now he is exactly four years old. he is always engaged with us and very interested in children & people. very good eye contact, good social smiles, responds to name calls & no restrictive behaviors. For nearly 10 months now we have been sending him to the intervention center, we fully engaged with him, but still, we think this is due to the excessive screen time. we did an assessment when he was 2.9 years old & the score was 12 at high risk in M-chat. but recently I Checked with M-chat ( now he is 4 years old) and the score is 1 and it is low risk for ASD. pls, give your comments & advice

Hi. My son has tantrums, had no patience, doesnt turn when his name is called, spins around sometimes, likes spinning objects before & like to observe something that spins, hand flaps if he is happy or excited. Doesn’t turn around when name is being called. Picky eater. Doesn’t point something that he wants but instead he gets it and when he doesn’t get it he throws a tantrum or he cries. But when i talk and he finds it funny he looks at me. Cannot follow simple instructions yet. Only says abc or 1-10 but cannot have a conversation yet. He calls me by yelling not by “mama” but sometimes he called me amii. He is so clingy. When we are in the bed lying down and he wants to be carry he goes on top of me to carry him. If i dont get up he will throw a fit Were just preparing to meet dev ped but i am very anxious and we dont have savings yet to attend assesment. Do you think he has autism? He is 22 months and boy

It sounds like he has some potential signs of autism, but it's hard for me to say without having met him. I would check out the CDC developmental milestones checklist for his age group and bring your concerns to the developmental pediatrician. I also have resources available for you to help boost his language skills: MaryBarbera.com/links-yt
