A FINE point Apple Pencil TIP?! | Trying the Fine Point ReeYear Nibs!

I've been seeing those fine point styluses around for awhile, and while a lot of people consider them just an alternative to the Apple Pencil, I was really interested in the fine point aspect! The Apple Pencil is amazing in it's own right, but as a mixed media artist I can't help but crave the feeling of a really sharpened pencil, so when I found out that there were nib replacements rather than recplacing the whole pen I couldn't get my mind off of them and decided I'd finally try them out! www.amazon.com/Upgraded-Penci...

Thank you for this review. Nice sketching! I just found some fine point precision nibs 6 in a pack for 11.99 on Amazon. I have the ones like you have too, the ones I just purchased the nib is a tad longer. I’m mostly just note-taking so the fine print precision I love it so much. Makes my handwriting so neat ♥️

i really appreciate this review!!! Im also an artist but mainly as a hobby, and im soooo turned off by the thick, plastic original tips. Thank you very much for this review! Two questions though: Can you please share the exact brand of your screen protector? I'm asking this because I also have a matte screen protector (I don't know which brand - it came pre applied with my 2nd hand iPad pro), but it adds only a tiny amount of friction with my Apple pencil original tip, so I guess that with these harder metal tips it's going to be even worse when using them with my current screen protector. Second question: Would you recommend these tips for note taking? Note taking is different from art because the strokes are much faster, and I personally need a lot of friction or resistance in order to write comfortably.
@six.studios
@six.studios 2 года назад
I use the Paperlike screen protector! And I think I personally would! I write a lot for thumbnails and comics and just generally when I'm trying to come up with illustration ideas!

@@six.studios Thanks! kinda figured it out myself after digging through your channel and comments - you used xirion, then went back to bare iPad, then you tried Supershields, and now Paperlike...Which one, in your opinion, is more 'toothy'? I've actually heard that the 1st generation of Paperlike had a lot of texture, but the 2nd gen (the one you probably have), is too smooth, easily scratched, and adds very little friction. What's your take?
@six.studios
@six.studios 2 года назад
@@Crayon826 I have the 2nd gen and I do agree it has less tooth than my friend’s who had the 1st gen! I’d honestly say super shields and Paperlike are really comparable, however I haven’t had a chance to use the nib with supershields! So I don’t know which would stand up against it better! Texture wise tho I think they’re equal!!
@castzra
@castzra Год назад
the only question i have is that, does it also have compression control, cause when i sketch with my apple pencil i like to press more lightly on it, so im scared it will make my sketching pencil on procreate very thick and blunt and not allow me to have a feeling of a pencil stroke how its slightly faded in the end
@six.studios
@six.studios Год назад
As far as I'm aware yes it does!!! I didn't notice any difference in the performance of the pen, other than my brain likes that the tip is tiny so therefor I'm more delicate with my pieces!!

Hi hello! May i ask - does this nib (with or without the smol plastic caps) still make the tap-tap sound (which also feels sliiightly sticky the moment they touch together) when softly touching the screen with it? Or is it only the classic Apl shape nibs’ feature¿
@six.studios

I think it still makes that sound! Im not sure about the feeling, but it definitely still gives that paper scratch sound that makes it feel more like traditional!!

Probably late to ask but am thinking of getting this fine point for drawing now that its been a while do you still recommend them? I found everyone using bare apple pencil and i have an ipad pro coming to me in about a month i got with it an apple pencil case pretty cute makes it a bit more thick with pen like mechanic and also wondering if fine point would be a great replacement and nice to use since i see everywhere the plastic ones wears fast and are pretty unreachable for me (so getting replacement is like a one time chance) i wanna know if fine point last longer and am also an artist, an art student soooo am looking foward for your response and am so sorry for the long comment

Aaaa no need to apologize we love long comments over here!! 100% yes I’d still definitely recommend it! Probably true! I haven't used this on a scratched screen yet although I will soon since I switched back to my apple pencil tip waiting for a new set of these to arrive (I absolutely demolished the set from this video because i dropped them so many times and ended up chipping the bulb) but the ORIGINAL apple pencil nib scratched tf out of my screen!!! insane. I would recommend if you're worried about scratching to try a matte protector thats affordable and comes with multiple sleeves! For ex, I have a few on my channel that are under $10 that come in packs of like 2/3+! As far as I've noticed the reeyear nibs don't scratch unless they're damaged, but if you wanna be extra careful that's the way to go!!!

So for me when working traditionally, I like to have really sharp pencils! a fine point tip for the Apple Pencil gives me a similar feeling. The standard nib is nice, but it’s similar to a blunt pencil for me!! Also, these nibs last significantly longer than your standard nib, especially if you’re working with something like a matte screen protector! A normal nib with a matte screen protector will get worn down, these tips won’t!
