Hi Bro, I really admire your comprehensive and unbiased coverage of dashcam where it goes from a810 by 70mai or viofo 229 plus. But a major con I felt is that the rear camera in these are below standard atleast for 70mai a810 with starvis 2 imx678 or s500 mirror dashcam with imx675 but with both the rear dash cam is below substandard quality. can I buy a separate dashcam from 70mai and integrate that to the existing one either a810 or s500 mirror dashcam as these are my top choice else the last option I have is to go with the viofo 229 plus dual channel 2k with starvis imx675 on both costing me 25k. But I need to prefer a mirror dashcam so asking if I can replace the bundled poor rear camera in 70mai with there another 5-8k range dashcam on rear side and integrate the footage to same either 70mai s500 mirror dashcam or a810 as they have best sensor used as per my budget but techno it feels I am paying only for the front cam as rear fhd. Please respond urgently as I am late. Thnx

Hi. The point you've made is right. The rear camera in most dual dashcam setups is not up to mark. So there is some level of compromise in that aspect. Regarding your query if you can add a separate camera, yes you can. But you cannot integrate it with the already existing front camera. You can buy any other camera for example the 70mai M200 (Starvis 2) and install it in the rear rear windshield. It will work as a separate camera with nothing to do with the front. If both front and rear cameras are of the same brand, then you can add both cameras in the same app (in 70mai app as in previous example) and access them independent of each other within the same app. In case of VIOFO A229 Plus, you get a good rear camera setup as its a Dual Starvis 2, 2K resolution. Also, both cameras integrate and work in tandem. Its a lot more convenient to access them together via the viofo app. The extra cost you pay for it totally worth it. So, to conclude, if you dont want to compromise on the rear camera quality and its equally important to you as the front, then go with A229 Plus. But if you want to save some extra bucks and can manage with the average rear cam quality, go with 70mai A810.

You can fix over sun control film, yes. But if you try to remove the dashcam, the film might get damaged if the camera is not removed with utmost care. So before installing, make sure you fix it in a way that you don't have to remove it again.

However, I have got confused between 70mai a500s, a200 and nexdigitron prime 2k mainly because i saw in your individual review videos of above dual dashcams that 70mai a200 night owl vision feature worked better than sony imx335 sensor of other two dashcams where number plates could be read clearly even at greater distances. Request if you could solve my doubt for final decision making. Sir, pls include qubo pro 3k and izi drive plus 4k as they are within 10k too. Request your guidance based only on day and night picture quality of both front and rear cam with own / others headlight falling on target vehicle number plate at say 15 feet. Thanks in advance sir.

Qubo hasn't sent their dashcams for review. I have already made a detailed review video of IZI Drive dashcam. Check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yVt4bByhr-0.html The A200 comes with HDR which improves the exposure level at a higher distance, although the number plate readability won't be as good as the Starvis 2 sensor, it will be decent. But the A200 with its 1080p lacks compared to 1944p of A500 and 1440p of Prime. I suggest you can go with A200 as its more recently released with night owl vision feature, also you get a screen and a dual channel camera.

@traveltechyoutube Sir, My primary criteria for buying is dual cam, under 10k price and a good picture quality front and rear = clearly readable No. Plate in case of accident. I would have loved to attach a rear cam with 70mai M200 (mainly for starvis 2) if the facility existed. But at present no dual cam with starvis 2 in front comes less than 10k. But Thank you for your suggestion sir for A200. Will go ahead with it.

I think you should wait. So other cameras with starvis 2 might launch soon. In the mean time you can purchase a low budget dashcam such as nexdigitron neo for about 2.8K and keep using it until you replace it with a newer camera.

A500 has 1944p resolution. Hence it can read number plates at a farther distance maybe upto 20 feet, compared to M200 which works well only in close ranges of upto 10feet. But M200 has Starvis 2, which helps in reading number plates at night under the glare of headlights. The A500s cannot do this as it doesn't have a Starvis 2 sensor. But if number plates are not under headlight glare, the A500 can read plates from a farther distance than M200. So you have to choose which is your priority. Both cameras have their own strong points, and there is no definite way of saying one camera is 'better' than the other.
