You have such a good presenting style 🤩 and an absolute natural in front of the camera. Have you ever considered or been asked to think about being a SW consultant? I have my first weigh in on Thursday....I've weighed myself on my own scales and I have lost 10 lb since last Thursday's weigh in...it'll be more by Thursday! I agree with what you were saying about being mindful when eating things like rice, pasta & potatoes. I've never liked the term 'Free Foods'...I feel it's a bit misleading. Truth is, you couldn't possibly eat mountains of pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day (along with everything else you're allowed and Syns too) and lose weight 🙀 unless you were doing ridiculous amounts of exercise! But eating carbs in moderation will work. It's all about having a balanced diet at the end of the day....and being in a deficit.
Hello! 👋 Firstly, thank you very much for watching! Secondly, what a fantastic compliment 🥰 I haven’t considered becoming a consultant as I already work full time hours at work. A few people have mentioned it to me funnily enough, in the last few weeks. It is incredibly flattering and I’m so pleased to see that you are enjoying my style and content. Wow! 👏🏻 well done you…that is an absolute achievement! 🎆 what a start to the new year! Yes, the free foods so sound misleading and I do believe that when people don’t have success on the plan, it is usually free food related. No one can eat unlimited anything, but I do think some people can take this quite literally! As you say, it is all about moderation and variety too, and it makes it a whole lot easier to enjoy it. I hope your weigh in on Thursday is all you wish for, and please do let me know how you get on! Have a fantastic week ahead 🤗 Denise x
Great video denise and absolutely right about calorie counting. I got back to plan on slimming world this week after a hefty gain after xmas and i lost 6.5lb 😊
Thank you Joanne! I hope you’re doing well. Thank you for watching this video and I’m sending over a huge well done to you! Well done for getting back on plan and for achieving such a fantastic weight loss result 👏🏻👏🏻 you must be so pleased! X
OMG everything you said was so true. Food for me was a hug❤. I have fibromyalgia and at 58 thought I've got to start looking after myself at 20 stone, a little too late though as I have a large gall stone and fatty liver. Calorie counting just Steers you to eating the rubbish you like . I would never calorie count on SW. I just eat a normal portion, I know that if I eat too much free food I won't lose so well. I like being hungry and being able to eat with no stress, afternoon snack was prawns & a coffee before weigh in tonight. I feel a lot happier in myself when I'm following Sw . I've learnt I'm not good with sugar foods , it really makes me feel sluggish & rubbish . ❤
Hi Jane, I’m sorry to hear you have fatty liver and a large gall stone. Are they going to give you the high frequency laser treatment to disperse the stone, or are they just monitoring it with weight loss? The liver is pretty resilient. Losing weight will make a huge difference to how your body is working on the inside and I bet you will reap the rewards ❤️ I’m so happy for you, and glad that you feel happier too. Thank you for being so supportive of me and for being on my wavelength too xx
It's whatever works for you, but to me, not knowing how many calories you eat is like not knowing how much money you've got in the bank. Calories are the currency of weight loss. Slimming world is ok for some. But take me for instance, if I follow the plan and eat until I am comfortably full with the carbohydrates and yes, including the third of the plate with veggie et cetera, I gain. I tried it and I know from experience. In addition, I know many many people that have had the same experience. In other words, one size does not fit at all.
Hi Dennis, absolutely! It is what works for each individual. Unfortunately, most people who are overweight have tried ‘it all’ and speaking from my own 20 years of dieting, I’ve never had success like I do on slimming world. It keeps a structure to my otherwise very chaotic food intake and choices, and so I do love it for that. I have also had friends who have been in a similar situation to yourself and your experience with slimming world too, so you aren’t alone with that one. One size does not fit all, but a form of structure and support does definitely help. Have a fantastic week! 😊
Really great video Denise, thank you for sharing about your life too. Funnily enough I am an only child as well. I cannot have imagined losing my Mum at such a young age, that is very difficult to deal with and at times of unhappiness turning to food is our comfort. I totally agree about the calorie counting. I really think people do it as it means they can eat exactly what they like and not follow a healthy eating plan. I bet you could look at many peoples App and there will not be loads of fruit and veg and protein. Totally agree to about the long term sustainability of calorie counting, it will never work. Thankfully we love SW along with the health benefits we now have and how it teaches you to make the correct choices. As the lady below says, you are fab at presenting and I am sure at some point SW will be in touch 🥰xx
Thank you so much, Kim! I’m glad you liked my video. Hello fellow only child friend 👋 most people I know have multiple siblings. Being an only child was rare when I was young! There are pros and cons of everything but I think if you do have an eating issue or tendency to binge or overeat the wrong things, too much leniency can be detrimental and make it harder/worse! The change in me psychologically has been phenomenal. So much more than I ever thought, and more in the last few weeks than ever. A few people have mentioned consultant opportunities recently, and so I will think a little more about it 😊. Take care and have a fantastic week! Xx
@@ScottishFoodieLassie Thank you Denise, you have a great week too. P.S. Andy is an only child too and we don't have children either. (Very cheap at Christmas time 🤣🤣) xx
Calorie counting makes me want to lose the will to live! I eat so many fruits and veggies and they don't add up to a lot so SW works much better for me. I also agree that it guides you to healthier choices. Have you been in touch with Lauren? I hope she's OK.
I knew a lass who was working with a personal trainer who told her she could eat anything at all so long as it was within calories, I was pretty horrified that someone professing to be a professional would offer that kind of advice.
Hi Zoe, thanks for watching! I have heard that many times before. Each to their own, and within moderation. I understand that you can in theory eat whatever you want, as long as you exercise. The issue is related to the nutrition from doing that, and what it does to some people’s minds/bodies. If you have a lower tolerance to carbs or if you are a binge eater, having complete freedom is something that just won’t work. I’m living proof of both of those facts! Xx
@@ScottishFoodieLassie I think my day was really busy and I might have been mixed up. I must have seen a notice that the calorie counting v SW was about to preview. I just don’t want to miss anything! Thank you
@@lindaconn5781 Hello! No problem at all. It only comes up like that as I can set videos as a premiere, to make people know that the video is coming out in advance 😊 xx
Just to let you know that after a lot of phone calls with Jane plan my friend made on my behalf they said that I could return the meals and have a refund I’ve decided I’ll stick to nutracheck and calorie counting it works for me thanks for your concern about me take care xx
Hi Lesley. I am glad that you have managed to organise a refund. It is a terrible amount of money to have spent on food that is just not up to scratch. I’m glad it hasn’t stalled your motivation! Take care ❤️
You have such a good knowledge about slimming world 🌎 I myself lost 5 stone on slimming world 🌎 ...would you not try for a consultant job u would me very good xx
Hi Sandra! Thank you so much 💜 I really appreciate your fantastic feedback! I haven’t considered becoming one, a few people have mentioned it in the last few weeks though! Thank you so much 🤗
You speak sense I have just tried Jane plan meals they are very peppery lassed with white pepper I'm phoning them to complain so imm going too stick with calorie counting it cost me 224 pounds I hope I can return it for a refund xx
Hi Lesley, I’m so sorry to hear that you haven’t had a good experience with Jane Plan. Did they offer you any refunds or reasoning as to why they were so strongly seasoned? That is a disappointment for you! I hope you do get your refund and can enjoy the rest of your week. Take care, Denise x
