I suppose time will tell re. the 'iconic' status of the Mk1 Focus RS (or the Mk2 and Mk3 for that matter). For me, Ford went all out on the Mk1 and created a properly bespoke car. Enthusiasts favour the 'firsts' and the 'lasts', the first Sierra Cosworth, the first (and only) Escort Cosworth, and potentially the first Focus RS. 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching; hope to hear from you on my other and future videos.
Hello Andy I’ve followed the channel since the mk2 ST to work video. Always loved Fords especially an RS/ST. Owned mk1 Focuses inc. an ST170, all great driving cars. The RS was really bespoke. My cousin owns a mk3 RS in white an amazing performer even in standard form. Love your mk2 ST with its rare spec, in a great colour and that iconic 5 pot engine. A mate has two including an ST500 and I’m looking for one now which says it all really! Haha. Thanks for the channel and look forward to your next videos. 👍🏻
I was just thinking of you as I know you like the MG ZS. I noticed Anglia car auctions have a absolutely mint 2002 MG ZS 2.5 V6 180. It's being offered in their classic auction at the end of this month. Finished in Canary yellow , or it looks like that. MOT until October 24. Guide is £2500 - £3500. It looks very nice. 👍

It looks a stunning car and, assuming it lands somewhere within the guide, then offers amazing value given the rising values of these cars. Sadly, my Cosworth and a couple of recent purchases soon to be shared in future videos, means I do not have the funds currently to buy anything else... but having said that... 🤣 Thanks for watching this video.
Thanks for the comment. I have owned two Fiesta ST150s and really enjoyed both; they are cracking cars and prices are definitely on the up! I've not driven an ST150 with any modifications, but in standard form they remain a proper hot hatchback - big engine, close-ratio gearbox and sports shocks in a small car with big wheels, bodykit and good colour. @@cornishcarcollectors Awesome! You may already know that back then Mountune developed the ford-approved 165/185 packages which didn't break fords warrenty. Would these packages or equivalent specifications still qualify as too modified? The 185 spec shaves the standard 0-60 time from 7.9 seconds to around 6.7 without a turbo.

Hello, Andy Ireally enjoyed the video on the 3 focus,s my favourite of course, would be the Mk1 Focus Rs. Yes, I m biased because I own one myself and have owned mine for 7 years When Ford launched the car there was a lot of press hype. Some people were very impressed and some were subdued it was Colin McRea Who really put the car on the world stage with the WRC series and giving the.car its motorsport heritage to wear the RS badge. Ford priced, the car at £21.500 and the secondhand prices did start to fall after a few years which did frighten people and they wanted to sell. There was a post that was put up on the Rs.Owner's club saying that the focus Mk1 RS is the next series 1 Rs Turbo in the future, being of course, very limited production of 4501 . one colour and 1 specification that Ford didnt repeat. I think now i've heard there is less than 1500 left, meaning these have now become very rare and of course prices for the absolute mint sub 30.000 mile cars can demand over £40.000. I own build No 4307 which has 69400 miles and its basically just a summer show car. To anyone wishing to buy one its common sense, do your homework. Do your reading up on the car and know what you re looking at. There are some rough examples out there. But there's some really lovely cars out there that are no doubt investments if you want to look at the car that way. But they re great fun to drive and you dont see hardly any of them on the road now. Another good point on the car. Is the Mk1 FRS is ULEZ compliant and compliant with all other UK emissions in various citys which are sadly being introduced more and more. Also, you can ensure the car on a modern classic policy. Meaning you still keep your No claims bonus. Anyway Andy once again really enjoyed the video and a very happy 2024 you and cornish car collectors Nigel 😎

Your welcome Andy According to the How many left website then the figures of around 1500 left seem about correct. But when you then think if thats true 3000 have been lost which is a shame. What was also a shame was the car was compared and suggested it was the next so called replacement for the Escort Cosworth which was in many ways untrue for it was simply Fords way of bringing the RS badge back (meet emissions standards) and of course competing in the WRC. The Mk1 FRS is not in the leagues of the Cosworth models but like i said beforehand it was evaluated to be the next Series 1 RST to that status with the limited production and specification that is much more true to describe and what the car is now becoming. Of course the dream would of been Ford making it 4X4 and a Cosworth engine to which some.tuners done themselves to absolutely breathtaking results. Still the Mk1 FRS has well earned the RS badge and deservedly takes its place within the line up of Fords RS marques

My Mk1 Focus RS could easily have made it into the top 3 and, to be honest, on a different day it probably would do... it is really hard to rank them in order. Hi Andy well done on another great video I love all three of these they are all completely different in their own way my preference would be that mk2 ST have loved that car since you have had it it’s just stunning in the Colorado red and that interior I personally preferred the mk2 focus to the mk1 but it’s great to see that car has survived and it deserves its place at the table of sporting RS fords The mk3 is gorgeous as well and I love that colour I have a brochure with that colour car on the cover I got when I ordered my much more basic zetec in frozen white! All focuses are a joy to drive and so exciting I’ve not had another car I have enjoyed driving so much and with the performance i can see why you want to go to the Nurburgring! You ought to see if you can get to millbrook in Luton it used to be GMs proving ground but think you can take your own car round all fabulous video as ever all the best Daniel

@@cornishcarcollectors Your mk1 ST was never available here in Cape Town, South Africa in ST or RS. I've only seen one the same as yours at the annual ST/RS Ford meet. ST/RS Fords are quite few and far between here as I will see one ST for every thousand Golf R/ Gti, audi S/RS and BMW M's

Mk2 Rs to get the full set and to really make the most of the 5 cylinders sits above all of them tbh mk3 will be a iconic car in years to come as simply its the last Rs car ford have produced and the only one out the focus rs range to come awd

It'll be a Frozen White car! As for the Mk3, assuming Ford have truly retired the RS range then you are probably right about it becoming something special. However, we should remember Ford had previously retired RS in the late 90s and only brought it back for the Focus RS when the Racing Puma did not sell as well as they had hoped. Who knows? My M140i was 455bhp/634nm, a straight line missile, but a bit wobbly, the rear tyres didn't know what each other were doing under acceleration, and the dampers were like a pogo stick over series of bumps, also the steering was numb. I'm much happier with my OG M2 now.

I love your videos and your choices. If I were as lucky as you then I would too put them in that exact order for the exact reasons. As I commented when I first followed your channel, new cars are simply 'perfect' machines. Peak motorcar for me was up to about 2013. They were technically reliable, still allowed to be noisy, stylish & most importantly they had a character & a soul. Since then they have become too good at everything, boring, ugly, off the shelf perfect and complete with artificial sound & digital dials....I understand things have to move on but as a car enthusiast...

You really do have a lovely collection of fast Focus's! Iv never had one in my collection, I kind of feel like iv missed out a bit? I almost brought a 2018 RS Focus last year but ended up buying a new Lotus Emira instead! I do like your little MG you featured and would definitely buy it if you were to sell it? Like yourself I also have an MG260 V8 as I do have a bit of a soft spot for MG's..

Good to hear from another MG ZT260 owner - they are brilliantly flawed cars, and I think that it is in the flaws they find their charm. The drama of driving one is wicked. As for my "little MG", do you mean the MG F Trophy 160 or my ZR160? If it's the F Trophy 160 then I would consider selling it as I do not use it very much. Do let me know and thank you for watching.
the mk2s we got here in the states were ugly and we got no performance trim at all...atleast we had the SVT gen1 which was basically an ST i always wanted a SVT, my sister has a gen3 ST
