Sell the Merci. It's great, but you will NEVER find another Gallardo like that. Gated manual, very low miles, great colour combo and its appreciating. Sell the Merci, the Gallardo is the better car to have.
Disco Inferno it’s not irrelevant, manuals are already more expensive than the automatics and manual ones were not mass produced, plus they don’t make manual Lamborghinis anymore. It’s literally a classic already.
A Ferrari dino was considered the baby Ferrari back in the day and for a while they were worth practically nothing. Now they are worth a boatload of money. The pre-lp Lamborghini Gallardo Manual is a special car and make up only about 2% of total Gallardos made if I remember correctly. The even firing V10 is widely loved for it's beautiful F1-like sound. It may never be worth millions of dollars but they will certainly go up in value as they represent the end of a generation for Lamborghini and supercars in general. Even though it's an Audi creation it is one of the last "real" Lamborghini's. Not like the ones of today that look like crazy hotwheels cars and are driven by dingbat RU-vidrs who don't know anything about cars, let alone how to drive manual.
@@blahblah-blah8207 Canadian viewer....so true. Love the comment about the current generation and look like crazy hotwheels. Dingbat RU-vidrs.....priceless. Hell they can not even drive a paddle shifter.....
The chances of finding another GaIIardo like that, 6,000 miles, gated manual transmission, and a clean title is going to be almost impossible. Personally, I think both lambos are super awesome, but if you were to sell one, I'd say the Murcielago.
@@bngr_bngr That's the main thing I have against these older lambos. Audi's in the early to mid-2000's were not that reliable and weren't that good (in my opinion), so buying a lambo owned by them during that time is a little risky, and since it's a Lamborghini, everything is a lot more expensive to fix, compared to a regular Audi. If Hoovie bought a Ford GT 40, that would be absolutely amazing and mind blowing.
But there’s more value in rarity than condition when it comes to cars. The rarer it is the more desirable, the desirable something is the more demand it has. The more demand higher the price.
@@themob087 You're not wrong. In the case of a mid-2000s Mercialago in average-fair condition, I don't think it's rare enough to keep over better condition albeit less rare examples; thus my suggestion above.
If you want top money for the Gallardo, I know a guy who runs an auction site... That said, I'd say keep the Gallardo. Stunning color, MANUAL, and low miles.
Murcielagos in general hold the value, i don't think they can depreciate anymore, they are going up in value now, e gear or gated, it's still a Murcielago
Hoovies white privilege sickens me, as well as his cultural appropriation of Asian culture by marrying a mail-order sex slave wife and forcing her to produce white children #CANCELHOOVIE Am I woke enough?? oh, one more thing. Sell the orange one. It's a total nightmare. Dump it while you can.
Yes! Whether as a collector or as a weekend toy, the gallardo just looks better, is probably more rare, and probably more fun to drive. Also, probably cheaper to repair and easier to source parts.
@@mattyp3119 I think the fact that its a v12 people will over look that. Plus it is a bonus. Easier to service now. I personally wouldn't let that bother me. Especially when it doesn't effect the over all structure of the car.
Keep the Gallardo, that version of that car is just so damn hard to find and will only go up in value. The big Murcielago is good but a Gallardo with a gated manual just is too awesome to let go.
@@Dave.S.TT600 Developed by Lamborghini, for use in the Gallardo, and the first engine developed for Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. after they were acquired by AUDI AG - part of the Volkswagen Group. ... This engine has its origins in two concept cars made by Lamborghini, the 1988 P140 and the 1995 Calà.
Maybe he should have kept the hooptie fleet. Hoov, we stand in solidarity with you as you liquidate half your exotic car collection to keep the feds off ya shit 😭😭😭😞😞😞
Lambo videos are driving and repairing. Civic videos are driving and more modding. Though, modern Lambos are a far cry from what they used to be--horrible neverending maintenance nightmares that were equally horrible to drive. But still, nothing is as striking as a bright red Countach with a tan interior.
As a doctor, seeing the wizard taste that liquid leaking from the Lambo and then realizing it isn't engine oil (which means he knows what engine oil tastes like), makes me really concerned for his health.. Please don't taste anything that isn't food, especially if it is on the bottom of a car.
Uh, doesn't brake fluid like just KILL you? Leaving aside toxicity of oil/grease/gasoline, which that drip could of had as constitiuents, to me there was no guarentee that that drip had no brake fluid in it. Which is to me even worse,
@@issadraco532 the fear is not from him drinking gallons of it, some of these materials are carcinogenic, and him working on cars everyday and touching/licking these materials puts him at risk for skin cancer, oral cancer, etc Playing in the dirt or eating a good diet, not being anxious, going to day-care, being social and adventurous I, etc is all nice and dandy, don't jump to conclusions when talking to someone who clearly was making a joke of something so unimportant in a video about cars
@@issadraco532 exposing a mucous membrane to toxic chemicals and playing outside in a natural habitat are very very different things. I'm not sure how you've drawn similarities between the two. Personally I always wear nitrile gloves when working on cars and cringe when he licks carcinogenic fluids.
I would sell the Murci. I'm scared of maintaining a V12 Lambo that is also convertible and has an automatic gearbox. The Gallardo is definitely my favorite purchase you've made. I'm so jealous of it.
Absolutely love watching your videos almost everyday. I guess this COVID situation has brought out the true entertaining content to watch instead of those repeated shows on tv. I love your stuff with The Wizard. I’m a car guy here in Australia with a 2002 ML320 Mercedes as a project. So easy to work on and easy to get spares. Always love your work. Hope your safe with the recent hurricane passing by. Thoughts are with those poor families in Louisiana. Cheers from the kiwi living in Australia.
It was spelled that way on purpose because it would be expensive to fix and maintain so it would be a mercy sell for his bank account, which was the whole point of this video.
same, but it's actually healthier for the engine, lets it shoot up like a dope sick junkie rather than feeding the oil in slower- idling is bad for engines! I agree though, it somehow seems wrong.
The Gallardo is a way nicer colour, has a way nicer speced interior, and that enjoyable Reliable transmission. There's your answer. Just get an exhaust upgrade.
How can I be this exited watching each one of you'r videos after more than 3 years watching evry one of them. That's realy true love. Big kisses from Paris Tyler ❤❤
Normally I’d go for the scissor doors but between this Murci and this Gallardo I say keep the Gallardo. That spec and the stick shift are so cool. Love the blue. So unique.
Now, I know you have the dumbest automotive RU-vid channel on earth, but just this once, please make a smart decision. Sell the Murci, and keep the Gallardo. You have been through WAY TOO MUCH with the Murci, and burnt A LOT of cash on it. Trust me, as a mechanic myself, I know it's not worth it. You bought that Gallardo so that you could enjoy a decent car for yourself and not for content on the channel. Enjoy it. It's really rare to get a manual Gallardo in such an immaculate condition. So, please consider my decision, and sell the Murci.
It's interesting to watch the tension between Hoovie wanting to keep his brand and Hoovie wanting to transition to only having reasonably nice cars that he enjoys. This'll be an interesting litmus test I think.
The smart decision would be to sell the non-running Bentleys first. AMG or a Bentley? Lambo or a Bentley? Mustang or a Bentley? See, the thing is, those two are not only money pits but are also horribly un-cool and un-exciting cars to drive.
"I swaped a broken McLaren for this lambo because it has less power and you can enjoy it more" "I miss the power of the broken V12" Just admit you don't like things working properly 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
To me this isn't a tough decision if I were making it. The Gallardo has been super reliable, hasn't cost hardly anything to maintain, is rare and getting rarer and is basically guaranteed to increase in value. I wish I had the money to be able to afford that Gallardo. That is literally one of the few "super cars" that I could consider owning if I had the money. It isn't the typical money pit that most are. The Murci had lots of problems, still does and while certainly more powerful you can't do the things in it on city streets you can in the Gallardo without grossly breaking laws. I just don't see any way you don't end up further and further upside down on it. It will never be worth more than you have invested into it. Edit: Reading comments it seems the overwhelming majority agree with me. So that pretty much confirms what is going to happen...Sad to see the Gallardo go.
Yes. Titles the video: "Should I Sell the Gallardo?" Spends whole video talking about how great the Gallardo is. Next video title: "I Just Sold My Gallardo and Bought XXXX."
In your situation.. The best way to lose less money is selling the Murci. Due to its higher resale price over the Gallardo. The Gallardo should stay in the garage obviously because its rarity, Its a low mileage, neat condition Gallardo aaaand gated manual. Good luck 😎
okay so if your goal is to minimize loss, and therefore keep the gallardo, you’re going to feel guilty every time you drive it. so what’s the point of having a car you can’t drive? that’s a HUGE loss
Fk that, a car isn't a trophy. Drive it, enjoy it, who cares what it's worth if you enjoy it? Sell the Murci because it's, comparatively, a piece of crap.
True that. Our addiction is not so much fast food or gas guzzlers those are just funny quirks compared to the real one. Banks, and the other debt collection schemes. Keeping poor people poor. That's the true crippling addiction slowly ruining Americans. By the time your 70 if your very lucky you might be able to say you actually own your property for the very first time in your entire life. Really unlikely though. Rent and loan till ya die is the more likely outcome from what I've seen. Exceptions to this sure, but an exception is not the norm.
I’d get rid of the Merci. The chances of finding another Gallardo even close to being like yours is near impossible. And it’s an appreciating asset. The Merci on the other hand...
Hoovie looking at his 3rd supercar in his ten car garage with three car lifts thinking, maybe people are going get the wrong impression. Time for a pontiac grand prix gxp.
I used to work for a cyber security firm and I had to travel to KS twice for a client and trust me, there is money in KS. Plenty of upscale neighborhoods.
Very informative. My takeaway is that if you want to keep your garage rug in place when you drive off in your Lambo, just use your other Lambo to hold it in place.
Like the Wizard said in one of his videos...don’t let Hoovey trick you in to thinking he is clueless. He is one of the most experienced car guys out there.
"Sounds expensive"....."it will be" lmao. I love the wizard. No beating around the bush with that guy. Lol I always laugh for sure when the wizard is in the video. Thanks for the great video
"THERE'S LAMBO MONEY TO BE MADE... BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HAA" ! Wizard ROCKS ! ( I'm still chortling as I type this......he he he he)! Great installment fellas.
This is an easy decision for me: Sell the Murci. The Gallardo is gorgeous, with a gated manual, low mileage, and is in perfect shape. The Murci is much more expensive, has an automatic, and still has a bunch of work to do on it. Given it's worth more, sell it, get out from under the loan, and use what's left over to pay down other debt. Then you're left with an amazing truly unique vehicle and far less debt.
Do to the Gallardo having a gated manual transmission I feel like it would sell quicker, but I believe the murcielago would be more expensive to keep up with. Also the murcielago would sell for more I imagine. Not to mention gated manual supercars hold their value quite well.
If It was me the Gallardo would be gone. The Merci is cool with the ragtop and the v12 along with the hooptie interior. Fixing it will get you more videos, and really you just got that nice Benz!
I'd love to spend an hour just wandering around wizards shop just taking in all the wierd and wonderful cars in the background I mean..I realise that they're all peoples actual cars and that doing that isn't at all possible but still...would be pretty fun
Here I am with $25 to live off until pay day Friday, and I’m watching a video about whether or not a man decides which one of the best Lamborghinis ever made to sell. Anything is possible, thanks Hoovie
You have to do the traffic light test. Imagine you're in one and the other pulls up beside you at the lights, if you were to look over at the other car and wish that was the one you kept, that's the one you keep. Personally I'd say keep the Gallardo, you talk about it with a lot of passion. If you do sell it, I think that every time that you'd use the proceeds from it to fix the Murciélago, you'll resent the Murciélago more.
The Bentley's distributor belt can be sourced from 928 international, since the Porsche 928S2 had this exact same distributor. The caps are from a Porsche 944. I think the little belt costs about $10....
Gallardos with the original styling you got there is one of my favourite cars. To me, one of the best looking cars made in the 21st century thus far. Keep that thing if you can
