My Micro RC Monster Truck fleet has been expanding and I've done videos on all of the trucks. My 3d printed custom truck, the Furitek Rampart, and the FMS Max Smasher are all great little trucks. But which one is the best? The cold winter is the perfect time for these little trucks. Having to stay inside on rainy and cold days is exactly why I started the build of my custom truck years ago.
My goal was always to build a few trucks so I could run a Micro Monster Jam event in a way. Racing, Freestyle, Skill Challenges. Now that I have three trucks, we can try some of that. Which one will come out on top? Which is the better truck? I'll let you decide!!
Hope you enjoy the Video!!

These little trucks are awesome. I like how well they preform in such a tight track. Who would have ever thought a pool table could be a track. Awesome 👍👍

How did I miss this until today? Great job comparing the three. ALL are great little trucks and I agree with your results. Check out Jconcepts tires for your first truck.

Thank you! I've been having those Jconcepts tires in my cart for a while but haven't filled the cart enough to make an order yet! 😬

For the money, the time spending building, and the looks and how close it's to RTR, hands down the Losi LMT mini is definitely the best bang for your buck at around $280US I haven't put a dime into mine, and it's daily ran through the house. Not one thing has gone wrong. Now, I got the Traxxas TRX4MT,... That's a whole different story because I got it for a purpose. To build my dream OG Bigfoot 1. It's already hitting the $450 mark easy. But, in the manufacturing and structure of the Traxxas TRX4MT, it would be breaking parts left and right. Who makes a Monster Truck with locked diffs and uses crawling electronics, etc?... Lol I mean, for the price, I could have bought a Redcat Ground Pounder, thrown on better wheels and rims, and had a 10th scale monster truck basher that is built way better. But, it wouldn't have the Traxxas Body and licensing quality. In that, they do great work. But what good is a Ferrari on Walmart special tires? 🤔🤷 So, RTR(and in every meaning of the words), 1/18 scale Losi wins. I'm sorry, just my opinion. Heck I've added my own ESC, reciever, (Had both just laying around) so I could use my DumboRc DDF-350 with it and all I need is a body and I'll be completely satisfied with the LMT-mini especially under $300US. Folks seriously consider how much work, skill, money, and time you have before ever starting an RC project... Lol 🍻❤️🖖 Hopefully no hard feelings, just my 2 cents.

I absolutely agree that the Mini LMT is the best mini monster truck out there right now, I've been raving about it in some of my more recent videos. I made this video before that truck was released so everything here is based on not having driven that truck yet. I will say the one area that it may not be the choice for some is the size. All the trucks in this video are 1/24th scale which allowed me to create a nice course there on a pool table and the trucks handled it great! The Mini LMT being 1/18th scale wouldn't handle a course with such little room as well. But I completely agree with you, the Mini LMT is the best RC for the money right now in my opinion... and Losi has never given me a dime or any free products or deals to promote their vehicles.

This guy rocks,... And someone that actually read my comment and honestly got it! I never even thought about how true you are about these being the 1/24s and in that sense you can kick a door of endless body opportunity to the list being the universal vehicle model size. Almost. Most bodies, especially my fave, the 56' stepside Ford 100, can get hardbodied.that there is money and strength added to a build. Hell, you might get really lucky and find your exact color! You are spot on as well with the conclusion of these 24th scale.

Hi Sir, What are those wheel set you are using on your other 2 trucks? Where can I get them and are they compatible also with the FMS mac? Thanks!
@FullThrottleRC
@FullThrottleRC Год назад
Hi! They are 3d printed wheels to run the tires from a Spin Masters Monster Jam model. You can learn more about them in my build videos of my 3d printed monster truck and the files are available if you wanted to 3d print some yourself. I was able to put the FMS wheels and tires on my 3d printed truck so I would assume these would fit on the FMS as well.

This is a weird segment of the hobby. I like the little monster trucks. It's a shame only fms has one complete in box. Thanks for another reason I can use with my wife to justify buying a pool table. MiniZ's would be awesome on one as well.

I'm very shocked Axial or Lodi or even Element haven't come up with anything yet. Especially with aftermarket support already there, Jconcepts is even making wheels and tires now. For a company that already has a micro solid axle in production, I don't feel like it would take much to make a RTR monster truck.

Order the fms high speed motor, and then retest. The truck will drift around corners better and be faster.
@FullThrottleRC
@FullThrottleRC Год назад
I have been wanting to pick up that motor to try out. Originally wanted to go brushless but it seems with the mounting to the transmission, it might be easier to just go with that high speed motor.
@justinthomas6532
@justinthomas6532 Год назад
@@FullThrottleRC only problem will be transmission gears need upgraded, and center driveshafts will also need upgraded to metal. I broke 1 after the other with slight indoor bashing afterwards
@techpriest4787
@techpriest4787 Год назад
@@justinthomas6532 how to prevent the pinion from stripping out too soon though? I had my high speed motor less than a month and instead of burning out because I have no passive cooling on it and it actually got supper hot. To my shock. Instead of any of the plastic gears that come after the big metal gear that touches the pinion. It was the pinion itself that tripped out. And the plastic driveshafts also survived albeit visibly already giving into deformation. :/ I considered because of this to replace this silly brass pinion motor with a mini godzilla. Seems it got steel. I know that lack of grease does cause more friction. And I forgot to put something on the pinion of the new motor. But it could break this fast just because of that?

Hate to say it but this was a pretty crappy comparison considering you limited yourself to such a tiny area- kinda like when feld shows up to a basketball stadium. These trucks like the real things need room to strut their stuff.
@FullThrottleRC
@FullThrottleRC Год назад
Same thing with feld bringing Monster Jam to a small arena though, sometimes you don't have all the room you'd like to have. It's about making the most of the space and the truck you have!

Also Amazon has a awesome new mini micro server it really changed my truck and way more enjoyable and only 20$, I grabbed the injora monster tires too and it’s so much better than the 3D ones I had, they are little smaller than btk ones but to me they are even better than those, especially the performance aspect

Did you upgrade the gearing in the scx axles? It makes a giant difference in mine, just wish it would free roll

@@FullThrottleRC I’m using the 2/13 gears and I think I’m going to get the 2/12 and see if it wakes it up for 2s, but biggest thing was finding that 20$ servo on Amazon, it didn’t like the emaxx at all and fought for giant radius, now it’s like my mini z almost, especially with the rubber injora monster tires, I’m just worried about it snapping the axles like it’s nothing, the money I have in it was killing me especially when it wasn’t even fun to run, now I find myself just driving it through the house 😂

I used the local sandbox and turned it into a monster track track with a simple shovel in a few minutes. With one jumping ramp. A high speed straight. And a bump region. That is why I left my Losi LMT. It is just so damn difficult to get a proper placer to driver that big 1/8 honker. Not to mention that the parts are like 10x more expensive. And I go almost everyday with my RC truck. So I go. I do not have a car. I used a pants belt to strap it around the front steel bumper of the LMT to carry its heavy rear back home. Yes it got metal upgrades. Yes. That makes it very heavy too... :D
