Does this mean if there is any sound in my mix that doesn’t sound good, I should just turn it up and it will sound better? 😂Lol, always gotta level match
An XLR cable from any reputable brand should work just fine--find ones with Neutrik connectors if possible. The connectors are often the failure point.
You may like the sound of saturation. I would try some free plugins like the gear space one/ analog obsession plugins or even the waves bb tubes or magma but make sure your mic level is never too loud you don’t want actual distortion cause there’s no fixing a recorded distortion later
@@LEWITT-audio Thanks! I'm researchingg and trying to decide between 240 or 440 for a podcast load out I'm building right now. Didn't know the 240 was a thing until yesterday, but have been pleasantly listening to the 440 on several shows for a few years now. I like the proximity forgiveness the mic gives with people moving all around pickup pattern, and am unsure yet if the 240 has the same forgiveness yet. Will present a budget with both, but I would need to figure out how to convince the client to spend double for the 440 or not, knowing that this 240 exists now. Self noise being the other major consideration, would make me personally buy 440, but it might not be enough to convince someone who doesn't know and is spending the money.
Being a large diaphragm condenser, LCT 440 PURE has a smoother high end response and a bit more fullness in the low end. The self noise is probably the other most significant factor in comparing the two. Hope that helps!
