I used Meguiars wax and polish for very long time, one of the best waxing products for cars, I polished plastic trim to shine get great results. Also I restored plastic trim using wax cleaner. Also I do something with the plastic trim, I cleaned with alcohol and spray clear coat.
I totally appreciate the honest review. But listening to you guys say Meguiars was a little rough. I understand the language thing. But its ma gwy errs lol. Did my best there. Thanks again guys 👌
Marc Aliventi Aliventi pretty sure someone did this on the car I’m cleaning, glad I took the whole interior out and am cleaning parts one at a time or it would be a mess
Wow the difference from where the tape was looks huge!! All those oily ones look great at first, but that oiliness just makes them collect dust and grime so fast. Anything that does the job AND is not oily is excellent. Going to check out the Skim33 for sure!
If you tape it off and spray it with bed coat you wont need to use those restore products ever again. the bed coat spray from Walmart is like 8 bucks and lasts 3 years before it needs another fast spray.
@@robertojeda88 I've used rustoleum truck bed coating fro bumpers, rock sliders, my trailer hitch and tons of other things. It's cheap at autozone and I think Walmart carry it also. Just be careful because it comes out of the can fast and it covers a large are quickly. I've also used this as undercoat and it works really well. Much better than the rubber junk lol.
You should definitely try "solution finish"! You're welcome. Once you use that, that's the only thing you will use from that day forward. Its actually made from carbon and is designed to soak into your plastics. That's what all the pros use.
Thank you for the feedback! Looks like based on the comments we are gonna have a round 2 with mostly online products. Maybe we can have viewers send us products they recommend so we can test them!

Hey I could careless about how you pronounced anything, I personally appreciate your video and taken the time to do it. It helped me alot, y'all keep having fun and helping me out. PEACE
I now have an used the Turtle Wax trim restorer. 2nd week using. Ok....1st week using product , think i applied too lite of a coat ? Heavey rain washed it off. Had dark an light spots. 2nd week. Applied again. This time using 1" trim paint brush. The brush made it so much easier to apply on trim. Looks good so far. Just waiting for the rain again. Lol. Will be using TW till its gone 👍
The Turtle Wax Trim Restorer is the most shiny, and my favorite for exterior and interior plastics. I also like Mothers VLR spray for interior plastics and leather (vinyl, leather, rubber). My favorite wax is Nu Finish- Scotty Kilmer recommends the Lithium brand wax for more money.
Solution finish is the only product worth buying for restoring plastic. It’s not a topical protectant like most. It actually dissolves the oxidation and penetrates into the plastic to restore it to 100% like new. Every other product has to be applied just about every time you wash your vehicle and most often leaves a really inconsistent look.
Theres a spray on one...i think from mothers i find better then all the wipe on ones...have a 2002 Tacoma with flares...in winter they turn white...tried wipe on...didn't always work...spray on turns them black every time
Well, how to keep this brief.... so call protectants are mainly water, glycol (antifreeze) and sand (silica). To make this combo work requires emulsification. Silica is holds mid level UV reflective values and is harmless. The emulsifier(s) and the glycol are the bad bits! Glycol is used to maintain hydration or keep the surface wet. That old tire or faded trim look great when it rains... right? That's what protectants do...Temporary hydration of the substrate. Glycol is also neurotoxin SO bad idea on interiors. The emulsifier(s) will eventually breakdown any surface especially when it remains active due to the hydrating effect of the glycol.
Aero Cosmetics. You'll have to order it but it's Aerospace grade. It restores the health of rubber. It doesn't leave the ridiculous shine or become an attractant to dirt.
Griot's Garage used to make a product called: "Bumper & Trim Reconditioner" (Item11183) that was a black dye... I used it on my new to me H2 as soon as I got it and it literally lasted 8 years till I sold it. I have no idea why they stopped making it....?
Pro Tip: don't clean your plastics or furnishing, or anything in your car for that matter, with paper towels. Fibers break off and get stuck in the microscopic pores found in most materials, and it will make products less effective, and can actually make certain parts worse (leather in particular). Use a microfiber towel instead. They are cheap, reusable, and do a much better job at cleaning parts! From a 16 y/o (cause that's TOTALLY reliable) that is super OCD about their car, it makes a difference, and it'll help in the future. Cheers!
Ditch the music when you are talking, harder to hear you. I have 2, Mother's and Turtle, both work fine for me. Turtle seems like more of gel to me than liquid.
I use all meguiars products on my jeep for the trim, tires, wax to me they make the best products.Their tire foam last for a long time even after rain and washing.I like the turtle wax look but you guys didnt try armor all which works great. That new one looks kinda dull in the video.
Turtlewax formula hands down looks the best from wat i see on that fender the oily film will dry an go away i think the Canada company paid u off to vote for them
Will these work on grey trim?? I know they say back to black etc. but will they bring my dark smoke grey back to life? Just wanna make sure in case it’s more of a dye
I like the scoooter .I have a Honda forza 300 and it rides great .I get 65to 70mpg and it olds two helmits under the seat and tons of other storage .Its fuel injected and is a joy to commute to work.
Meguiar is a Scottish last name, the car product company is named after Mr. Meguiar, it’s a name you see occasionally in Canada and Scotland (Canada is very Scottish). It’s pronounced Meg-Wire’s.
Will the plastic trim restorer get rid of black spots on trim got black spots from using iron remover because I didn't tape the trim up when applying iron remover don't plan on ever using iron remover on my truck ever again now.
Purchased car a month back. Does turtle wax trim restorer help on piano black window trims and door visors or should I go with turtle wax inside out protectants for few months?
Ppl should stop watch after you miss pronounced meguiars which is one of the bestest dominant brands for car guys world-wide and obviously this is a promo to that skim33 brand I can totally see that meguiars (Meg-wires not Megui wars) has the best results
