In this video we will learn that How would we know that which type of prescription should be transposed to analyse the type of astigmatism? Types of astigmatism • Simple, Compound and m...

Sir im confused 😢 our instructor told us to determine the types of astigmatism from the prescription without transpotition he told us to follow this rule: simple myopic or hyperopic { sph=cyl} Compound myopic or hyperopic{ sph>cyl} Mixed astigmatism { CYl >sph } Example : plano -1.50 @180 .....Simple myopic With the rule astigmatism +1.50-3.50@90 ..... mixed astigmatism against the rule SIR, i want ur opinion about his method , if is correct or no ? because i really value ur response ! Regards❤
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 yes he didn't mention the sign of sph or Cyl because he told us that ophtalmologist prefer to work with + Cyl and optometrist prefer to work in -Cyl however either ways converting the prescription from - cyl to + Cyl the optical properties of the prescription remain the same ! This way i got confused about ur video because u said that we need to transpose first to determine types of astigmatism ! Thus thank you a lot for ur videos i really like them im learning a lot from you ! 🌹 i have a small request can u please make a video about fan & block ? Best regards😊
Sir as you discussed if sphere and cylinder have same power with opposite signs we transpose, and you also discussed if sphere has greater power than cylinder but with opposite signs we transpose...Now my question is that if sphere has less power than cylinder but with opposite signs suppose i transpose it will also give the accurate result for example +2/-4×90 if you transpose this prescription the result will be -2/+4×180 it means it is a mixed astigmatism
Yes exactly..i discussed only two cases 1. If sph and cyl have same power but with opposite sign. Transpose it because before transposition it will look like mixed astigmatism but after transposition it will be simple astigmatism. 2. If sph is greater than cyl with opposite sign . Transpose it. Before transposition it will look like mixed astigmatism and after transposition it will be compound astigmatism. In rest of all prescriptions we do not need to transpose.
No benefit on vision at all.. Vision remains the same. But with transposition you can prevent the magnification. And in written stock of lenses if do not find your required prescription you can simply transpose.
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 sir i was tested at sharpsight hospital, and they gave 5 times drops in some interval of time for around 1 hr , and then tested with torch
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 at first they tested and said -2.25 and then dilated my eyes, and then gave me -1.75 power , means variation of -0.50 power in both eyes , is it possible or they tested wrong , because at first they said your power has increased & then after dilated said reduced, currently wearing -2.0 power glasses
We are not transposing it for the patient, we are transposing it for the sake of determining of type of astigmatism. In many cases we also transpose like of cyl is very high and in plus, then it can cause magnification and discomfort, so we transpose it in minus cyl.
No. We can transpose every type of prescription having sphero-cyl and only cyl. This lecture is about that how you will recognise the type of astigmatism,
@@susmitasuman824 with same sign no need to transpose for the purpose to find type astigmatism....but for any other need you can transpose all the prescription it depends on you its just for to find type of astigmatism
Uploading today..how can we find type of astigmatism with optical cross that either it is simple, compound or mixed or it is with the rule or against the rule.
Sir...but mostly ..as an optometrist..we prefer minus cylinder...then why u are transposing the second example??? Just for change the type of astigmatism?
Sir i have no. Plz help how u add near correction on this No. Plz I need a clarification about this near No... No. Is R/E - 3.75 DSpr /-1 cyl *100 ° L/E -3. 0 cyl *70 ° Adding +3 D sphr... Sir my question is how add near correction for this no.. N what is will b exact near correction no... Plz let me know I have confusion about this
