Ever wondered what the Entity actually thinks of the Survivors in game? Does it like them? Does it hate them? Or is it somewhere in between? Hey everyone, today we’re going to try and figure those things out. To discern the Entity’s opinion, we can look to the lore, the perks, and things like flavour text too. All of these things can help to paint a picture on what the Entity thinks.

Worth mentioning for Bill, he died restarting the generator for the bridge to save the rest of the L4D crew. The Entity took him to a realm where he always has to remember how he died, and always having hope that he's helped another survivor.

Sadako does not hate Yoichi more than she hates anyone else. She was quite interested in him since he had similar powers to her own just a lot weaker, but she didn't get angry when he got saved from the curse multiple times. She got confused, came up to him and asked him why he's the only one that got saved, before just letting him go and leaving him alone for the rest of his life. Which is really unusual since Sadako usually just curses you over and over again, or haunts you for the rest of your life. The hate between these 2 solely comes from Yoichi.

Ripley would absolutely be one of the Entity's favorites in my mind. Her pragmatic yet benevolent presence sent a surge of hope into all at the campfire and everyone knew instantly that Ripley would always come back for them. Because everytime she hears someone scream on a hook, she hears Kane. She hears Brett. She hears Lambert. And she will run with her heartbeat in her throat to save you. That's how she feeds the Entity. Inspiring courage but also damned to always hear screams that are as endless as the void of space. Her survival on the Nostromo made into a jest by the Entity.

id actually argue that Felix is a character that the Entity DOES like, partially bc Visionary allows Felix to see the generators, which are a part of the Entity, and also because in his default head cosmetic, Felix is said to have an understanding of the Entity that others do not. id argue the same for Vittorio, as his tattoos glow alternatively like the Void energy (his blue glows like the void in this last halloween event), and, actually, his red glow is most similar to the Auric cells, which we know are part of the Entity. i think the Entity is probably amused by Vittorio. plus its implied in his tome lore that it WAS a part of the Entity that gave Vittorio his tattoos

I'd argue that The Entity is worried about Alan since he is now the most powerful survivor in the game. IF Alan can finish his manuscript about DBD, it would mean that the survivors would actually be able to escape the Entity's realm. (A bit of AW2 spoilers here) the only drawback is that the manuscript would have to end with a drawback since it is a horror story, and Alan explains that those rarely end with a happily ever after ending. So maybe it would end with either a specific survivor staying behind or the entity retaining its ability to draw them back into the realm.

I love the dynamic between Cheryl, Pyramid Head and the Entity. Cheryl can bend the Entity’s rule and the Entity itself causing a mass-hatred for her resulting in Pyramid Head being a viable “business partner” to cause her huge pain and, with his power, kill her without drawbacks. The Entity is literally forced into the “if you can’t beat them, join them” methodology because of a single teenager.

About the positivity angle, doesn't the Entity prefer that people are hopeful and positive? Cause that means they will keep participating in the trials, memory wiped or not, with the hope of escaping. What people often forget that Killers are also “Victims” of the Entity because she needs to frustrate the Killers via Survivors too and The same way Killers generate emotions from survivors by hurting them; the Killers also feel emotions like Agony, Frustration and Anger when they’re basically looped and dropped pallets on by survivors so.. everyone in the Realm is equally a “victim” of the Entity and her using everyone as farm animals of emotions regardless of the fact if they’re a killer or a survivor.

another comment pointed this out, but sadako never actually hated yoichi, he hated her but that's it it's one sided also, if i'm not mistaken, i think "survivors get their memory wiped after each trial" is a piece of old lore that isn't canon anymore(from what i found it's canon that they only lose their memories if they die in the trial) as now we have characters that talk about their past trials like alan wake and nick cage ( "It’s just one of those nights.", "Who’s going to poke out our eyes this time?" )

Left 4 Dead loremaster here. One of the reasons Bill may be a favorite is because this is canonically Bill's perfect afterlife. All he ever wanted was an enemy to fight, which was his cold comfort during the infection. He more than likely prefers this fate.

i also like to think that the entitiy also like characters based off of how many cosmetics they have and how unique their cosmetics are. like how dwight, meg, and feng get a ton of cosmetics, while haddie, yoichi have less. this doesnt include licensed cosmetics that are other characters from that franchise, and if the character is newer and hasnt had the time to gain as many cosmetics

Tbh, I think it makes sense The Entity likes Ace. The reason I say this is because I have a crazy joke theory that basically suggests one of the reasons Ace is always smiling is that he steals the joy from every killer and survivor. Like where do you think Weskers smirk from the PTB went?

I truly believe Dwight is probably still the best leader, as mentioned in the lore survivors do unconsciously remember the previous trials, Dwight is someone to look up to by others because of his bravery (notice how he is never running away from danger in his cinematics) even though he’s terrified and his conscious and unconscious knowledge for the realm I still think is unmatched, keep in mind that he probably went through millions of trials before even Nea was added and as the leader that means he probably is the most exprienced leader of all the characters in the realm, living hundreds of thousands of years as one, this isn’t even accounting for the fact other potential leaders aren’t tuned to what the realm asks for them, Jill has probably had the most experience of all non original characters with being chased but even she could fight back, Bill and Ash both faced threats with incredibly deadly weapons but Dwight has to face the threats with nothing which is what he knows how to do

You've probably heard this a million times by now but I really love the way you weave Meta aspects like balance decisions, legal issues, and the strength of certain killers and perks to form your theories. It really makes the lore of DBD feel more believable. The entity had a reason to dislike tunneling, and so actively de-incentivized it by allowing Laurie Decisive Strike as a form of punishment. I really like these theories. :)

Theory idea. Could Overlaps into the Dark Place exist in the Entity’s realm? And if so, could Alan Wake and his meta writing be a means to escape the realm if he could access the Dark Place and his plot controlling typewriter? 😂

Sable Ward is probably the Entity's favorite. She poses no threat, she is quite ignorant, and she is into evil, dark things. The entity gives her useful perk associated with the basement.

So this is completely unrelated and random but. Idk how many of you guys remember the Dead by Daylight X For Honor crossover event but personally I do view that as actually being a canon even. For a breif Period the Entity bought Heathmore and a Bunch of the heros into the realm just to see what would happen. An Experiment if you will. But ultimately decide to let Heathmore go and left the world of For Honor alone...for now.

If Ubisoft ever collabs with Dead by Daylight again I'd love for them to Expand a lil on the Exclusive game mode they had. Maybe introduce more killers to face off against besides trapper(Who was a Reskined Centurion) I could already see Oni (Shugoki moveset) Huntress (either Raider or Hitokiri moveset) Legion (Peacekeeper moveset) Knight(Warden or Highlander moveset) Plague (Conqueror moveset) and maybe Spirit (Either Orochi or Kyoshin's moveset)

The entity probably likes Sable because she didn't have to be manipulated in any significant way going as far as willingly entering the fog after Mikaela was taken. Another way we can see how the Entity might view Sable is her perks all have to do with drawing power from the Basement. Wicked gives her a free unhook as well as showing the location of killers, something demonstrating entity favor, Strength in Shadows which allows her to heal in the basement on top of showing the killer's aura. But the biggest evidence comes from the Invocation perks which gives every generator progress in exchange for blood

On Vittorio: he also breaks the rules of the trials. If you're a main Vittorio and use his powers, you know when you start to store energy and release it you'll never get a good part of the points for fixing the generator, that's how much he can do. Th entity does not like it and players like me suffer because our blood points always get canned because of it
