V3 is softer and more cushioned but it lost the agressive toe off that made magical catapult effect on v1 or v2. The foam is better but the last moment on transition is more normal that on the previous iterations.
Nike is doing what adidas does now, supporting pronation which does not work for true forefoot strikers and will cause injuries overtime and a lot more work. I’m hoping I’ll still be able to buy the 2%.
I’ve alluded to this on some of my videos. The Vaporfly has a big wheelhouse of effectiveness, but the dollar/mile (or €/km, or £, ¥, etc.) is its Achilles heel. It may be the best (for many), but it’s certainly race day only. And only a handful of races.
I agree 100%. I ran only 9 miles, right out of the box in these shoes, and the heels look like they were put through a grinder. Horrible durability on these shoes. The first version was the best one they made.
The best version was the first Vaporfly Next Percent. The second was good, but this third version made my legs feel like they had to work harder. The durability is horrible on the outsole heels of the Vaporfly 3. After only 9 miles out of the box, the heels on my shoes look like they were put through a grinder. Nike has to addres this issue if they're going to charge $220 dollars for these shoes. I'm just going to stick with my Adidas for race day.
I don't knwo if i am the only one but I find the V3 less agressive (to wide for me now especially toes box box and mid foot), and worst part is the rocker for me fe that I find quite different ?
