@OzByte, I appreciate that, I know review channels don't tend to garner the views sometimes and there are some very dominant, and largely sponsored, big channels out there. Thanks again.
nice shoes!!!! :) Awesome idea :) :) interesting findings too ;) looking forward to a video on how to adjust the ride...I'm happy with my Varla ride but wonder if it's the best setup for me :) Cheers Tim
@@ElectronSurfer So far it has been good, but back tire not as true as I would like. Not too bad and I cannot really feel it's right side wobble... Seems to me these are the same as the Varla, Unicool, Zero, ApolloPro, and Techlife-all with respective their model names. Almost too much power at level #4 with 1,000 watt dual motors..I think mine has the sincpower 52V 936Wh battery. I weigh 230 lbs.. So I do stress it every time I ride it..
@@leebrady6326 I repaired a rear flat on a apollo that had a rear tire out of true. What I found was it had been tightened in at a slight angle. I loosened the nuts, got the axle to seat in all the way, and it rolled better. I did have the readjust the brakes as the disc was at a new angle.
@@ElectronSurfer im not insulting you >_< sorry though i thought you need more moral support and have confidence man cause your doing it right, you've laid out mostly the important points in your review, keep doing it well man ✌️
I have the Voromotors Mantis pro se, but before purchasing the Mantis, revride's base 10x was one of my few choices. In your opinion did I choose the right scooter for the price range? And lastly what's a better overall ride between the two. Thanks!
Ride is really determined by your weight, to me the Mantis is quite firm, however that all depends on what surfaces you ride. I personally like the way the Mantis feels a little better than the Zero 10x, mostly because the Mantis is 10 lbs lighter. I do think RevRides is a notch above VoroMotors on customer service. I don't think you made a bad decision at all especially if you got the Mantis when they had it discounted.
@@ElectronSurfer thanks and keep up the good work. Your video’s really help people like me about what’s going on in the e-scooter world. Been a follower now for a year since you’ve done the Dualtron Mini review.
@GeeStang, I"ll try to get that video up next week. One of the 10x's is easy and the other is almost too tight to be safe to ride. That adjustment is not very easy and may be a stand alone video.
I like the scooter, but for the height of the deck. Can that be adjusted down, lower to the ground? I felt like I was stepping up to high when kicking it off. At 67 the lower accel, moderate speed and longer cruising is my deal. Another great vid, thanks mate. from Stephen "Down Under"
Hello Stephen from Down Under! Unfortunately you cannot lower the deck very much. In theory when you adjust the suspension it could change the deck height, I'll do that and let you know what I find. I do like the kickstart setting but with many of these high deck scooters I end up changing to zero start (live at a stop) because kicking off is awkward. Cheers!
Hi there~ It doesn't sound like you went into the P-Settings menu, and modified the braking factor, and/or some other tweaks that may have given insight to some of the anomalies. This is a crucial tuning factor for all of these escooters.
My sweet spot for low speed/ smooth start/stop is ECO/ SINGLE/2. Speed motor option, I really enjoy it sometimes. It reminds me of like driving any Xiaomi scooter, lol, with very promising range. When I want speed, TURBO/ DUAL/2. or 3. Speed motor option. I have a 52V, 18.2Ah model. My question is, how do you activate regenerative breaking? Is it a front brake lever or aft one? Does it work when I'm in single motor mode or dual motor better?
Thank you for sharing, its fun to have those start options. Here is a link to Revrides P settings (revrides.com/blogs/news/everything-you-need-to-know-about-your-zero-scooter-lcd-settings). I personally ride with it set really light, the stronger electronic brake settings feel really unnatural to me, but that is the beauty of being able to change it to your liking....Cheers!
LG cells are perfectly fine and will be more reliable than generic cells, but there is always gonna be points of failure, one weak cell can throw off the whole package regardless of brand. Did you make sure each scooter used the same P settings for braking and acceleration?
I always verify the P-settings before testing...I'm a scientist come on (just kidding). I just listed them below in the description for reference. Thanks!
I own a Valera Eagle One, and they advertise the motors to be 1000w on their website on a 52v 18.2AH battery, but on closer inspection, the motors are labeled 60v 1200w, so they must have customized the battery/motor combo over the Zero 10x line up
Interesting, I have never seen motors used that don't match up to the voltage. It could be a good things as the motors should get less stress than they would otherwise, thanks for the heads up.
@@ElectronSurfer same I've been taking it off road 10ft tabletops from 10ft ramp no problems. Loctite and replace alum Allen head bolts as they get loose a few times to save from stretching out bolt holes otherwise no issues. Suggest 80-20% rule for best battery longevity
Thank you, its not an easy decision. If you really like hydraulic brakes that is easier. If you want more speed go 60v. I think most people will be totally happy with the base level option.
@@ElectronSurfer Thanks for the reply👍🙂 I think I want hydraulic brakes. It seems better in every way and since the speeds will be a bit higher from the Xiaomi M365 that I currently have hydraulic brakes feels like the right choice. And narrows it down to only two models to chose from. Got to think a bit between those two models especially if I really need 60V battery which also price-wise is a step up. 🤔
Maybe a phone accessory manufacturer has a non-refective plastic screen protector that could be modified to fit? And im definitely buying that heavy duty clamp when i get my 10x 60v version, hopefully soon.
That's an interesting idea, I feel like quality and readable displays are a place very much lacking on some E-scooters. Have you ever tried the Vsett's? They tend to be a nice step up from the Zero line in most aspects.
Hi iam looking to buy one but I got a cuestión do they come with the name printed on the scooter cuz I have someone saling me one and it don’t have nothing in the top like the name and I think is a fake one .
The 10x style has a whole bunch of non-branded options so it could be a legit scooter but not a Zero. If the motors have the 1000w or 1200w stamp and same display, it is likely ok. The question mark will be the battery, it is usually just a small sticker unless you want to open the deck up to see what the cells are. So it probably isn't fake but also likely not a Zero. Most all branding on these are sticker/decals that can be removed with a heat gun and patience. My advice is look it over closely and ride it if you can.
Haha well I suppose that is true but I do love to complain...I even have a segment just doing that in some videos! For my riding style (wuss) and weight (light-ish) 60v is just more than I'd ever need. Thanks for commenting!
I’d be in full power for when that pit Bull runs out and tries to eat you. That’s the only problem with slow scooters, you’re at the mercy of dogs 🤣 If there’s a price difference I’d prob buy the cheaper zero and put on a steering stabiliser and bigger/stronger stem bracket for a safer and more enjoyable ride. Great vid 🤘🤘
The dog issue is a good point, dogs seem to hate scooters even more than bikes and I had to outrun my share of dogs on my bike as a kit. There is a big jump from the low end 10x to the middle so I would tend do to the same as you. Thanks!
It is based on the battery and brake combination. Mechanical brakes, definitely the lowest option. Hydraulic brakes, can be either 52v or 60v. I'd check your display and see what you voltage reading is.
I have had more LG battery failures and no Samsung and a few sinc brand. Also I prefer more power and not to use it then to ride my scooter maxed out all the time. 60v over a 52v
Thanks Michael, it's good to have a brand with options like thr 10x for sure, thanks for chiming in on batteries. I see very few battery issues overall and wonder if the cell shortage will affect future battery reliability.
I haven't seen any problems with any of the battery options, Varla uses the same cells in their's and people seem really happy. Keep your batteries stored in a relatively stable environment and keep them charged appropriately and you should be good.
@@ElectronSurfer what is the advised tire pressure for a 10x with stock (factory tires)? I read 50 PSI Which is 3,4 bar but is this actually proven good in day to day use?
Why still zero scooter? This scooter has been introduced for four years. The configuration is outdated. However, it is the same plant as vsett. I think there should be very little improvement in the future of vsett. Compared to the similar DT Kaabo plant
@Lee Shand, if you live in California I have 2 of the ones I bought for this video still. I think RevRides will be stocking them but not all of the battery combinations. The Varla Eagle One is basically a base 10x with the Zoom brakes, so could be a good compromise.
I agree that the Vsett 10+ has a better design. I will say that it isn't for everyone, it is a bigger footprint than the 10x and also you don't have a 52v options if you want something that isn't 60v. Thanks for the comment!
@@ElectronSurfer and the reason someone would prefer a 52V battery over a 60V battery? The footprint? The better stem/folding mechanism alone compensates for that. Throw in the turn signals and no longer having to worry about replacing the charge ports when the side-mounted ones get bent from either laying the scooter down or otherwise banging into something. Plus the improved kickstand. Plus the standard 3" tires. Plus the standard hydraulic brakes. Plus the IP54 water resistance rating. The horn is a little rinky-dink. I say all that to say if you think the VSETT 10+ has too large a footprint, you could always go with the VSETT 8+. Still a better choice than the 10X.
@@bmbaretopndc I'm not arguing, I agree the Vsett has a better overall design, I just don't think you can say it is better for everyone because of that. If you want a lot of comfort and don't need 60v speed, the 10x can work well. 52v vs. 60v: You will get more range for the same watt hours with lower voltage. The 10x also has lower wattage motors that the Vsett, so potentially more range.
I sure hope you never get on Let's Make A Deal, door number...huh! I don't agree that the 10+ is universally better, I had way more issues (handlebar, fender, display mostly) with the 10+. I personally don't like the under feet feel of the 10+ deck, mostly plastic and flexes. Both are solid scooter options.
having owned a few ...dont get a SINC (SNC) battery .. i have zero 8 and zero 9 on SNC ..rubbish !... 10x 60v on samsung/LG rocks (zero 10x, unicool or eagle ) both snc batteries lost PD voltage around 400km. .. effectively useless.
Thanks for chiming in, this is the first I have heard of the Sinc sells going kaput. I have had more Samsung issues but for me, zero LG issues. Cheers!
My MANHATTAN BUILDING just BANNED ELECTRIC BIKES AND SCOOTERS…NONCOMPLIANCE RESULTS IN EVICTION….SUCKS….BATTERY CHARGERS NEED TO BE FEDERALLY CERTIFIED.I REMOVED MY ZERO 10X AFTER 2 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP
That is ridiculous, I don't understand banning clean great micro-mobility. I do agree that down the road all batteries should be UL listed but that will make them even more expensive. You could try one of the ebikes with the battery in the downtube, hard to tell it isn't a normal bike?
