Which Xbox Elite Controller is the BEST?! 

The Elite 2 is Basacially a Bigger Brother, with the Adjustable Joystick things, so I prefer that (Esp while Racing)

The grip on the elite 2 feels really nice

I'm torn, I want to get an Elite for my Series S. Getting the 1 means it would cost less, but would also be second hand. Getting the 2 would be expensive, but it guarantees a brand new one...

The Elite 2 is an Awesome Controller, and definitely something that I'd go to for gaming. It has given me the best gaming experience ever. But there's a MAJOR catch that I don't see a lot of people point out. That catch is the duration the Controller lasts without issues. I've owned 3 Elite 2 controllers (1 I haven't opened yet) and after about 3 months there was always an issue with the Bumpers. Soon they become unresponsive. They just don't make things last long anymore smh. So definitely think long and hard before spending your money on this controller.

The elite has like 40 hours of playtime so you can just charge it when your asleep

Had to trade in my series 2 because of the stick drift. I loved the controller but i feel like they need to improve the sticks sensor and placement over longer use. I loved everything else about the controller.

I have an elite 2 and I love how it has a built in battery and a quicker response time and the battery lasts quite long

I have the Elite 2, it seems to be better (in my opinion) from what I’ve seen in this video so I guess I prefer the Elite 2. I mean I never even have to change batteries and that’s amazing, and when it does charge I can just keep it safely in its case over night.

Maybe the 2 because I play the elite one and it was great it will be cool to play on the second one

I love my elite 1 controller I still use it today when I got it back in 2015. Almost 9 years and still going. If my controller had an odometer it would have clicked over a million miles. Lol

My elite 2 had stick drift issues after only 3 months and I made sure to take extra care of it. When I had an elite 1 it lasted for about a year so I prefer the first model over the second.

Had both and both got drift within a year soooo hopefully the series 3 it doesn’t have that problem

The elite 2 is basically an updated version of the original that will either have a broken bumper, paddles won’t push in, and grips coming off or stick drift, those are just the 4 that are wrong with the one I have rn😂

I have to agree … the biggest issue I have with the elite 2 is that the battery is not user replaceable (or at least not as easy as on the first model) They should have made the Charing doc so that you could still replace the battery as with the old version This would also provide the option to put AA batteries the controller giving the end user an alternative option to power the controller and last beyond the existence of battery packs for it (good luck getting those official packs for 360 controllers nowadays)

Elite 1 doesn't support Bluetooth which could be a deal breaker for those hoping to use with PC out of the box. The removable battery keeps it future proof though

1 too. I have both but 1 in my opinion is much durable and better one

The Elite 2 basically does everything better than Elite 1 in every way. The only reasons I can think of to prefer the first one is either if you personally enjoy the longer pedals in the back, and/or you’re the type of person that still likes the option to use a double A battery.

Elite series 2 is a really big upgrade from any kinda of controller unless it's like a scuff controller

Elite 2 because the C USB port and the fact that is charges I usually use my controller for a couple hours and then get off for a half the time I play and even work out or sum close to that and it makes it easy to just stick in the case and go

Just for the fact that there isn't a dual charging station for the xbox elite 2 and say other controller, I still prefer the Original one, since i can get it to work with dual station docks or things like that

I don’t really like any of them though I understand why a lot of people like them but for me i just can’t look at a modern controller that doesn’t have Gyro & not se a half empty glass of water

2 hands down for 5 reason I love the new grip, appreciate the extra profile, I like that it's rechargeable, the charging station is a nice touch, and I have the halo infinite edition. Oh ps. The thumbsticks are more adjustable.

I have the elite 2 blue and I love it but I hate the fact I had to spend another 60 dollars on top of the 160 for the case and the back paddles

Elite 2 is better, but overpriced. I would recommend the normal xbox controller.

The 1 basically fell apart in my hands after a few months so I never even bothered with 2

I don't care , I only care about how smooth it is because with an original Xbox controller I have that over snappy response that doesn't feel controllable when I need to aim down sights at a distance where you need to make minor movements

Honestly, the elite 2 is better feature wise. But the quality with them have been nothing less than Awful, I’ve owned two and both have issues. The first one would struggle to click down the analog sick if you were pushing in a direction and felt like you had rocks in them. The second had bumper issues that I had to fix and now after use, the buttons don’t always register when pushing- I’ve never had such problems with my Orignal Elite controller! The only reason why I had to replace it was the sticks button had given out after years and years and hours of use on COD.

Never let them know your next move I prefer the Xbox 360

Elite one backpaddles felt much nicer, but my elite one recently broke down on everything after 4 years of usage even the backpaddles didn't click anymore. Bought elite v2 recently, i love the triggers and stick adjustment but the backpaddles hurt my fingers after a while (they are a little bit on the tiny side)

Elite one is better looking but the rubber grips in the hand molds always came off. Was a bad design.

My elite 1's rubber fell apart a few months after purchase. My elite 2 had bumper issues and took 5 replacements to finally get one that worked.

I want to like the Elite 2 but I don't. Radial is ass & they made it default on the Elite 2. Axis Independent is Standard for every other controller. The paddles are a better size on the v1. The bumpers work better on the v1. The sticks click bettee on the v1. Only thing I like about the v2 is the reduce in input delay (usb c shits on micro usb), the paddles are more clicky/responsive, & the trigger stops are really good. Overall the Elite V1 Gen 2 Black is still the best xbox controller on the market. I say this after owning scuf, powerA, battle beaver, elite v1 gen 2 black, elite v1 gen 3 white , elite v2 black, elite v2 core white, an aim controller, as well as default controllers. I'd recommend Elite V1 if you use more than 2 paddles ( I use 3) or PowerA Spectra Enhanced if you only use 2.

The only thing i dont like about my elite 2 is that for some reason about 5-6 months in i noticed that for some reason anytime i press the bumpers i had to punch it for it to detect the motion

Xbox controllers are dogshit compared to ps4 ps5 controllers..I have both..and the xbox controller is TINY..seems made for little children 🙄...plus they seem cheap and clicky .but..the AA battery life is good .

For me, the elite 2 is better...but the build quality is TERRRIBLE. I can deal with the stick drift, but then the bumpers start to give out. Then now the new thing is, the controller just randomly disconnects without warning when the battery gets below a certain percentage. I wouldn't keep getting these if i didn't get myltiple warranties through my Best Buy membership. I'd probably be better off with a scuff controller.

Elite 2 you get endless stick drift. I'm on my 3rd and I'm already rocking 29 on my dead zone settings on this one. I never ever had stick drift on my original elite controller and in fact I only got the elite 2 because my grips finally wore off after 5 years of use.

I’ll take my Elite 2. It’s looks way better and I can charge it in the case while I pretend it’s sacred 😂 I only use it. Everyone else using the original that came out the box

Never owned the elite 1. I do own the elite 2 and have had it since 2019. It's got no stick drift, no button problems and still has a ling battery life

they both have bad quality control only last for few months . i heat the first one last longer than 6 months i was told for since i own it elite 2 till i can find on ebay a elite 1 but there been fakes going on

I have 2 Elites, an Elite 2 with Scuff back-paddles (way better paddles than either of the Elites & only $20 on Amazon, *HIGHLY RECOMMENDED),* Razer Limited Edition Mandalorian Wireless Pro, Scuff Instinct Pro, Turtle Beach Stealth, Razer Wolverine v2 pro, PowerA XP-Ultra MOGA, ASUS ROG Raikiri Pro, Gamesir G7, Gamesir G7 SE, PowerA Fusion Pro 2, FlyDigi Vader 3 Pro (not Xbox compatible out the box, I use my Titan 2 “MOD Pack” Crossover Adapter in order to use it), & a little over a dozen stock Xbox controllers from my OG S-Type (special adapter needed to use with next-gen consoles) to my Series X stock controller. Now what's the point of me listing all my Xbox controllers? Well, the point is… a couple of these controllers only cost between $40-$65 bucks (not counting stock versions), *AND YET THEY HAVE BETTER/MORE FEATURES THAN XBOX’S VERY OWN PRO ELITE 1 & 2 CONTROLLERS! It blows my mind how/why Xbox would use Hall-Effect triggers but not Hall-Effect sticks. *ESPECIALLY KNOWING THAT THE ELITE IS KNOWN FOR STICK DRIFT!* Meanwhile a $40 pro controller such as the Gamesir G7 / G7 SE and the $65 *WIRELESS* FlyDigi Vader 3 Pro have Hall-Effect sticks (For the unaware, Hall-Effect uses magnets instead of rubber/plastic that wear down after time). If Xbox/Microsoft Devs already incorporated Hall-Effect into the triggers, why not take that extra step and use it for the sticks as well… not like it's going to raise the cost of anything. Oh yeah! And my biggest gripe with either Elite controller… *NO TACTILE (clicky) buttons!?!?!* Like why?!?! (again, both Gamesir & FlyDigi were able to incorporate them in, with Hall-Effect triggers & STICKS, *& MOUSE CLICK TACTILE HAIR TRIGGERS!!!!* FOR DAMN NEAR 1/4 the price!! I swear, I'm certain of it at this point… this was done *ON PURPOSE* because just like with Apple products, they are built specifically to wear out & break so your forced to buy a warranty or worse buy a whole new controller! So, if anyone has made it this far in my novel, and you’re considering purchasing and elite controller regardless if it’s version one or two. I highly suggest purchasing yourself some custom Hal effect I highly suggest purchasing yourself some custom Hall effect sticks & Tactile buttons, and either get someone skilled enough to install them in your Elite or do it yourself. Once your upgrade is complete, you’ll finally feel what an *ELITE* controller should feel like! Because the elite version one and version two *ARE NOT ELITE* out of the box! P.S - both elite controllers use the same stick module as the Xbox One X (10 + years later & still using the same shitty sticks, the only difference is in the Elite 2 where they use a metal post instead of plastic for the tension feature)! Now you might say, “but PlanD, the stock controllers that come with the one X and Series X/S don't have this stick drift issue, if the elites are using the same stick module, why are they suffering from stick drift? The answer is very simple, the issue is the weight of the actual stick. The elite sticks are metal and are a lot heavier than the stock plastic sticks on the basic controller. The extra weight is putting more pressure on the modual, thus excelleraring wear & tear. so to me, this is another dead giveaway as to why I’m positive that this is being done intentionally due to greed & boosting sale stats. Well, I think I wasted enough of my own time as I'm sure no one will even make it this far… but for those who did, here is an Elite 2 Pro Tip: have your sticks ever get stuck a position for a second before snapping back straight? Have your sticks ever felt bumps or like sand/dirt was underneath? If so, the fix for this is *WAY* more simple that you think.* The reason this is happening is because your stick is loose. These sticks, attach and detach like a screw. All you have to do is twist the stick to the right with your fingers (if you ever want to remove your sticks and wondering how the hell they come off. You got us to unscrew them, but they are extremely tight at first, so you might need a heat gun and a very lightly damp towel to cut out holes for the sticks to go through so you don’t melt your controller. Heat up your sticks a little bit and twist them counter-clockwise.

As soon as the first pro controller that comes out with Hall effect sticks I’ll buy one. I’m not paying 300 for stick drift

The internal battery on the elite 2 is better than removable batteries as it last 48 hours meaning if it deteriorates an hour a year it would take 24 years for it to only last one whole day of nonstop gaming

Neither I would prefer or recommend because they’re cheaply built and trash. Compare something that’s not trash. Like razor Wolverine, pdp victrix, victrix gambit, and etc.

They have been real lousy with the names. Xbox elite one controller Xbox elite 2 controller Xbox elite 2 core controller Xbox elite 2 design labs controller. Everybody just calls them elite 2 and everyone is confused about wich is wich. -Even xbox commercials even ef things up by saying stuff like "the Elite 2 controller is customizable in design labs unlike the Elite 2 controller..."
