Yes, Fred, it is the story of my miss spent youth. my well spent youth? My ungodly fortunate fantastic youth. Written by wild brilliant chroniclers and explorers of the vibrations of the time, we still don't understand how it could have been. Was it just the acid? or was it God. Or was it George on guitar.
In the beginning George Harrison created this masterpiece, with Eric Clapton adding some depth and blues to it, but M.L. McCoy added the soul. Without a soul there is no life, and after life nothing else needs to be added.
When he sings "I don't know WHY nobody told you".... I melt he hits the high note on the WHY like PERFECTLY!!! his voice slides up to that high note with grace!
there's been better guitar renditions of this song but a person would be really, and I mean really, hard pressed to find better vocals than this for this song. this voice on Peter Frampton' s version would melt your mind. Yet another testament to the Beatles, the greatest band ever.
This movie completely changed the way I look at life. It completely immerses you into that era and makes you truly realize how amazing and sad those times were... The counter culture movement, The Vietnam War and the opposition to it, the peace rallies, the intensity of the race riots..indescribable. To me It completely defines the end of the 60's and the movement that came with it. What an amazing, and beautiful time it would have been to grow up in. All You Need Is LOVE.
And what a scene for this song to take place in. The bar where both Of then are. I always picture when the line “with every mistake we must surly be learning” when Jude joins in drinking at the bar in the scene. And then they both walk home in the morning doing the ohhhh ohhhh Of he guitar weeping.
How could you possibly hate the Beatles ? I understand the fact that you can dislike some of their songs, they arn't all awesome, But this particuliar song, especially in the original version is just transcendent.
this is one of the best covers of anything i have heard in my whole life. i just love the movie soooooo much, i finished watching it a few days ago and now its my new fave :P
This is one of the songs from Across the Universe that I love but don't care for the original. All the others I love in both the movie and the original by the Beatles but to me this version of this song is much better!
