Hi! The Frigidaire Gallery version was really nice too, and it was a little cheaper as well. However, the Whirlpool has the Convection oven feature on it, and it wasn't much different in cost to get it, so I ended up getting that one instead... If the Whirlpool wasn't available, I would have got it though.

I just purchased the model that has air fry with convection. I’ve only tried the air fry once and it worked fine. My only concern was poor instructions on how to use this feature. Do you preheat like my counter top air fryer? Didn’t really give me that option. Otherwise very happy with it.
Heya... Yep. when you start the air fry it should start a warm up period, and then it will tell you when you put the food in. You're right. The manual was pretty vague about it and it confused me a little too the first time I did it.
Well as far as building code goes (where I am at least) the plug above the range that they build in for the over-the-stove microwaves has to be on an isolated 20a circuit. That would mean that it would be a regular 120v recepticle for it for the foreseeable future. However, if you get one that is made in combination with a wall oven, those end up using a 40a 240v circuit, but that's mostly due to the power needs of the main oven.

Thanks! You're sweet! I just pulled the range out to make it easier to do the install on the microwave.... Also, a lot of the clips on the cabinets were broken, so I had to get in there and put in new ones. The old microwave looked like it was the only thing holding it all together.. Haha.
I'm thinking of buying this model (I like the fact that it works with Alexa) but saw some negative reviews. What is your take after having used it for a few months now. Thank you.
We juts about have all of our testing finished for our review.... There was a lot to go over on it.... So far there isn't too terribly much that's overly negative on ours... I did notice people complaining online about cracked doors... Ours has the stainless on it, and I suspect that the addition of that might strengthen it enough to avoid that issue (havent heard of that happening on the stainless model). There's some good features and some that are just gimmicks, IMO... Should have that out soon.
The optional rack? No. It's for air frying, but it just makes it easier. Plenty of ways to work that feature without having to spring some dough for it. I wish they had just included it, though.

Yes, I think it was great and meticulous in the technical parts, but it left some of your audience like me who wanted to understand what was going on, every time you where making some movement during the actual mounting. In those 3-5 minutes what tips and tricks happened, what expectations should I look to, it may be that in my experience I may encounter something and feel lost. But again your video was the best I have seen for this product, looking forward to your actual review and use, maybe some directional how to’s, like the convection part, it think it will be very helpful- thank you very much. Keep up the great work.

I hate doing that, but it hurts retention on the videos and youtube stops suggesting it if I don't go fast enough... I'd be happy to try to help you get your install done through emails though. Once you have the bracket on the wall and the holes drilled in the cabinet, everything else is super simple... There are 2 hooks at the bottom of the bracket. Those fit into two holes in the back of the microwave at the bottom... You just set it on there with the front of the microwave tilted down a bit, and when they are hooked on there, you just swing it up. Then all you gotta to is have one person holding the microwave up, and the other just screws in the bolts from the inside of the cabinet into the microwave... That's really about it. The template they give you on the box is really a lifesaver. It makes it really easy.
Still playing with it...Never been a fan of the recirculating configuration since venting outside is so much better, , but so far it seems to do a decent job that way. Worlds better than the old one, actually. Have a bunch of testing still to do with it.
Yeah... The fan set to circulate, is pretty loud. It's louder than the convection fan by a pretty wide margin, but really the xonvect fan doesn't bother me too much much. I don't run the fan on the microwave too much when baking though. Not too much of a smoke problem there for me, fortunately... Been thinking about just having the house retrofitted so I can exhaust the microwave to an outside vent.... Will be a lot of cost to do that though... Might just have to do it on the next house.
Hi, AJ. So far so good. I run it least once per day, twice on recording days and it's been solid. I still hate the layout of the tines though. Hopefully it stays trouble-free.

@@JoesPhenomenal So does this basically offer me the ability to 'air fry' things like I do with my counter top Air Fryer? I'd love not to have to drag that thing out each time.
The max temp on the convection part of the microwave is a little lower than what would be ideal for an air fry, so the results in there might not be great for that.
