THANK YOU!!!! Your video helped us immensely and prevented us from paying $500 to a dishonest, lazy appliance repair person who charged us $100 for a 5 minute service call to tell us we had to install a new wash motor. He didn’t run diagnostics nor did he pull the washer out to look at the motor. Hameed, you are awesome!
Dude. thank you so much. I can't believe how quick and simple this fix was. I also can't believe that after only 1 year there has been a problem like this. With a farm and 3 kids 5 and under, this not only saved me tons of stress but money and time too. Anyway, thank you again, this is incredible help for me right now.
The moment at 3:25-3:35 just saved my sanity. I've been trying to get at that motor for over two hours, watching several other videos. I saw this part, followed it carefully and BINGO, out it came. I found a small piece of plastic wrap in the circulating motor if my 18 month old dishwasher. I cleaned out the water deposits while I was in there, put it back together and it's running like a champ. Thank You so much for this video!
Thank you a million times. I replaced the filler deal and cleaned everything. Because of all the comments I had great faith. Worms better than ever now. How much do I owe yall. I'll start with a sub. Bless you sir!
I have the same dishwasher, and it had the same issue. I did what you did, and the thing began working, again. Had no idea about "diagnostic mode" until you showed how to enter it. Thanks!
Unbelievable! I did exactly what you said and it worked. I wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it with my own eyes. I’ve had lots of good fixes on RU-vid but this is number one!
Thank you Hameed! My dishwasher stopped cleaning dishes and I came across this video. After troubleshooting as much as I could I pulled it out and decided to check the wash motor. Surprise surprise there was a small piece of plastic packaging curled up inside the impeller stopping it from moving. I removed the debris and reinstalled it and it's working as normal once again. You're the best!
Hameed thanks!!! following all the instructions and my dishwasher started working again. You have saved me hundred of dollars on repair or buying a new dishwasher. Easy to fix and understandable instructions. Thanks a lot 👍🏾✌🏾
Had our dishwasher 4 years and it stopped spraying. I pulled the motor cleaned some hair and lint about the size of a dime. Did the 3 button test and it worked. Now to get dishes dirty again to see how it goes! Thanks for the video.
Wow! You just saved me hundreds! 💰 I was not even going to bother attempting a do it yourself fix it attempt and was looking at new dishwashers but I searched RU-vid anyways and found your video. I followed your instructions , took out the motor and there was some gunk inside, I pulled it out , put the motor back on , pressed the buttons nine times to do the diagnostic and boom! It started running! Thank you sir for the video. You’re getting a like and subscribe from me.
Thank You!!! I have a Kenmore. The original pump motor had a short circuit. I replaced it and then the electrics worked but it didn’t wash. Turns out the new motor was seized so I removed the circuit board from the new motor and placed it in the old one and it works great! I did this only after watching your video! Every appliance place I called had no advice.
Great video. My dishwasher was filling up with water but not cleaning (spinning and spraying). Opened up the was motor and cleaned it. Back in business. Thank you
We replaced a Whirlpool dishwater that was 7-8 years old with an identical model (because the fit was good). The old one did just what is described here. Tonight, the new dishwasher did the same thing (7 months old). This time, I tried what you describe and BINGO, it works again. Makes me wonder about the old one. Anyway, much thanks!
Thank you so much. If you count the time it takes to remove the dishwasher from underneath the counter and putting it back. This whole project takes about 40 minutes. It saved me $250.00! You are the best Hameed!
THANK YOU. I watched your post and used it to think outside the box. Some issue as you. But at the present moment 2weeks after foot surgery, pullling out the machine is not an option. So I followed you till there. Then I use a small plunger to plunge the inside water wells ….hoping to dislodge he Moyer/rotor/prop….and it worked…. THANK YOU!,,,,,
Great video, thank you. I took mine apart as you showed, cleaned it up and put it back together. Working again, no leaks. I did have a lot of lint-soap scum built up in my filter and broken glass. Never had a problem so never thought of cleaning it. Live and learn. Thanks again.
Thanks. You saved me from my wife ragging on me about buy a new dishwasher our finding some to fix this one. If you do need a new motor they are about $70, but that beats the cost of a new dishwasher
I appreciate the video i did exactly as you did and bamm dishwasher is wrkn again..i appreciate you taking time to show others how to repair dishwashers thx again
Worked for me. I suppose this will happen again and will eventually have to replace the motor or dishwasher, but still. Saving me money over the holidays! Thank you!
I think the motor responsible for the washing has a problem with its bearings and should be replaced , this fix will work for a couple of days if you are lucky and then the motor will stop again.
Thank you Hameed! This was exactly the problem I was having with our Whirlpool dishwasher. Thanks to your video, I was able to put the dishwasher into diagnostics mode, to confirm the component that was producing the error (the motor), and I was able to remove and unseize it. Now it is working again. Thank you!
thank you so much... took off pump just like you explained, nothing seized but alot fine junk crap around gasket and area, cleaned it and it's running..
Outstanding! It worked. Whirlpool that's 4 years old. Replaced the Water Inlet Valve based in another video, thinking it was that. Should've watched this video first!
thanks for the help ! I did this fix and it worked for 3 days then would not wash again , I just repeated these steps again and if it does not last long i will replace washer pump because it does fill and drain just hangs up on wash cycle. thanks again !
DUDE!!! all i had to do was hit those three buttons and it worked!! I didnt even have to take it apart!!! Saved money, time, and it made me look cool in front of the fiancé!!! Haha. Thanks sssooo much!!
I LOVE YOU!! This worked! I had the same problem! It would fill with water fine, it would drain, but the pump would never run. I was able to take the pump out, turn it a couple times and it works great!
Thank you very much. I had the exact same unit did the exact same thing you did and put it all back together started it up and the motor is running now. again, thanks a lot for your help.

Circulation Pump. Genuine OEM Part #: Repairclinic Item #:4383614 cost $120 order it and by magic, get it in the mail, the next day! Install it and the pump only pulsates, it only spits intermittently a littlewater. Go on line to RC they send a replacement, no issue no fuss, just had to wait in line for about 1/2 hour till someone connected with me. Again got it this time from Fed-ex the next day, great!! This replacement did the same as the first replacement, pulsed water. After examining the old pump and the new ones found both replacements had a yellow marker line down the motor identification label the original one did not. I saw it was quite easy to remove the motor portion from the old pump and install it on to one of the yew pump housings, so I did and the pump rums like new. Dishes are now very clean. So the issue was a worn out bearings/pump and the repair parts had weak motors. Amazon has the pump currently for $109.00. This is W11032770, the circulation main pump & motor assembly.
This is only a temporary fix. Whirlpool gold, kitchen aid, amana, and some Maytag dishwashers have a design defect in the pump where the bearings go bad and cause the pump to intermittently sieze. The REAL fix at this time is to replace the wash pump.
Props! Nice solve. I literally found almost nothing on my pump but I still cleaned the small bit of gunk and plugged it all back in to a happy finale! I wonder if the issue is something with the motherboard not feeding it power so unplugging and replugging resets it??
@@hameedwafaAFG i got it to work sorry of my original post was confusing! I was thanking you for the video. I was just saying I found very little in the way of the motor if anything at all. However once I plugged it back in all was working. I theorize that something in motherboard triggered it to cut off power to the motor and perhaps unplugging and plugging back in the motor (similar to a usb reset for a mouse) caused it to reset and provide power again.
Here's something that I found: pump wouldn't run, I couldn't remove it. The dishwasher is four years old and is used daily. Reconnected electrical connector, ready to replace entire pump but now pump runs. The problem is "fretting corrosion" on the electrical connector. The long-term solution would be to disconnect the connector, pack it with lithium grease (buy it at a hardware store), reconnect and wait for the pump to finally die from mechanical problems.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I have the exact same dishwasher and did just as you showed and it works just fine now yay!!!!!! Much easier than calling the repair man! Thanks again!!
Brother Hameed, I have whirlpool dishwasher, but a little advanced than the one you have , I couldn’t take off the water pump. I am afraid I would break it. Any hints ?
I think the motor responsible for the washing has a problem with its bearings and should be replaced , this fix will work for a couple of days if you are lucky and then the motor will stop again.
First question, do you have a Venmo or anything where I could send you a tip for this video? And second, how permanent is this fix? Is this just a bandaid on an open wound? Or does this usually last for a while?
I got a replacement pump that matches your broken circulation pump. They are generic. Anyway they have a large magnet as the rotor and non-friction bearings which are made out of graphite and don't last nearly as long as they should. Here is a Canadian guy who opened the pump and changed the bearings: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ki68BVU-80A.html I then opened my poorly functioning motor to see that the main ferrite magnetic shaft had been rubbing against the side of the pump and eroding. This was because the graphite bearings had worn and allowed the shaft to turn off center. Even this motor could run intermittently however it didn't push the water very strongly. Mostly it just flowed and dripped. Now that I have a new circulation pump motor it has a strong spray that really rinses the dishes well. Another thing is that the brown iron powder from the motor's magnet formed a thin film on the stainless steel interior. When you twist out the motor check for any side to side motion of the shaft. The plate behind the water impeller can be removed and you can inspect the motor shaft for scratches and wear. You can find "oilite bronze bushings" probably 3/16" IN x3/8" OD and 1/2" to 5/8" OD flange. AKA 5mm shaft 10mm center core hole and 12.5mm to 16mm flange to the sidewall. to replace them. Others prefer "upgradeing" to R3 plastic bearings with stainless steel balls. Once you have it open you can measure it yourself and even make bearings out of an old teflon cutting board."Delron" Otherwise Amazon or Ebay can sell you an equivalent part for around $50.
Hameed, my dishwasher is stuck washing only on the 1 hour cycle. It won’t let me press Heavy or Normal cycles. I tried the diagnostic thing you said to do, but still 1 hour cycle only lights up not the heavy or normal. I tried unplugging it for 20 seconds and plugging it back. Still nothing. I tried the 3 buttons 9 times and my washer started but not on any selected cycle, just the heat dry was lit up. Any ideas? Model is the same in the video.
@@hameedwafaAFG Oh, that makes sense. Thank you! I’ll look into getting a new assembly. Washing in a 1 hour cycle is not sufficiently cleaning my dishes. Thanks again!
