Using manual test mode to manually control a wash cycle step by step! The whole cycle only took about 20 minutes. Directions can be found online via Google search by searching the title of this video.

Im having trouble with my machine spinning all the water off the clothes during the spin cycle. Replaced the Actuator but still having trouble. Even reset machine after.
@@torahcapri try changing the belt. Sounds like it works when no load is on it but when clothes are on the agitator plate they are to heavy for the belt to spin them properly. Im not an expert just a thought on the situation
Since when did it become science to just wash clothes? Sheesh! I specifically chose the simplest one of them all and I have to study the process of washing clothes even after spending my entire life washing clothes. Holy moly mother of god! Excellent explanation, helpful for anyone in need of specifications and options but my god all I want to do is wash my clothes. I feel I have no control over how I want to wash my clothes the water running for too long to fill up is scary because that can only mean my water bill is going come high. I'm glad I didn't get rid of the old one. What ever happened to the good old days? It should not be so complicated to wash my clothes. Heavy, medium, low, hot or cold, heavy or light and all set. Thank you sir for your patience and support.
@@iamthereforithink2323 amen. people are quick to damn things they don't understand that actually make their lives immensely easier. bless science. god created the river rock. science created the washing machine.
Dude...this is the best video!!!...how the heck in any way do they call these energy wise???..every cycle runs for an hour, and fills that BIG ol tub up to the top to the tippy top several times!!! And the water runs almost as much as the machine !!...Sir,you've made my day!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much. Happy Easter. Just on here trying to help my parents and your video was the most helpful thus far...hands down, thank you and may peace be the journey!
I don't know what was wrong with it for sure but with the help of your video I ran it through the automatic test cycle and it started working again. (was getting stuck on wash with little water in it) Thanks
Haven't tried it but I will because the washer is not spinning . best post 📫 I have seen for this type of washer and you are right , about buying a washer like that .
I just purchased my first Whirlpool just over one week ago locally after my washer broke 2 days before my vacation. I was in a hurry and didn't do my homework. I am not at all happy with this product. I have washed my clothes twice because I thought I was doing something wrong. However, after reading these comments, I realize no one could have possibly tested this machine's performance using dirty laundry. I just returned home from vacation and I'm heading to the store where I purchased my washer to see if they will take it back. I don't have the time or the energy for this nonsense. I have been washing clothes for nearly 55 years and I have never experienced such a poor outcome once the wash cycle was completed on a new washer. I could have washed my dirty clothes and wrung them out by hand with my old washer and gotten better results.
I'm on the same boat and could not agree more. Whatever happened to a normal process? Hot or cold heavy or light in and out. It should be an easy process not science. I specifically purchased the simplest to avoid this but some how it didn't turn out this way, Nothing like the old fashion way. Nothing is the same. Good luck to us!
A friends mom passed away and I was given the washer and dryer. I would NEVER buy ANY appliance that makes you go through all of that just to wash laundry. Tried using the washer for the first time yesterday and couldn't get the thing to cooperate! Good thing I saved my Maytag because this thing is a POS. Never had a service call on my Maytag in 25 years. The only positive about this product is the matching Whirlpool dryer ... it's a dream... No problem.
Thank you for this upload! My machine wouldnt let me wash auto or go in calibration mode, so gave my better half peace of mind i can at least get clothes washed.
Your video is great and my opinion is not a negative towards you at all. If my messages came off this way I apologize. Your amazing I'm the one having issues with my machine. I will try to apply your suggestions it might be helpful. Thank you
Man, you were going along better than another guy whom I just watched UNTIL you got to the point where you did about five dial clicks while covering what you were doing with your arm! I think it was R>L>L>L>R. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Yeah, these functions, and their access stink, big time! Wish I still had my 28 yr. old Whirlpool which I maintained from the day I bought it. Easy, until the motor finally was fried. Replacement motor cost as much as the new unit I just got. The longer I watched this video, the more I resolved to get my own Service Manual, as it's obvious that you're not totally up on the complicated procedures, not that I blame you.
the codes on the right hand of the sheet are simple binary numbers using the lights. (locked and sensing lights are not used for the code) From left to right: wash(8),rinse(4),spin(2),done(1). With all lights off, press start to toggle lock/unlock. if lock is required, set it before entering a code. some codes require lock and some do not. lights add up to the code value for example: drain requires lock and is 7, so that's 4+2+1 (rinse spin done with lock on) low spin is lock code 9, that's 8 + 1 (wash done with lock on) etc this way if you know the code, you dont have to remember all the lights to set. just make them add up to the code and press start. hope this is helpful. good luck!
Thank you so much for this video! Just wondering if you can tell me how you have the water running with your lid open? I have powdered detergent and it is clumps on my clothes and I don’t know how to make the machine add more water. I hated our front loader and just wanted something simple, that I could actually soak clothes in and also something that when I took them out to hang they did not smell of mildew. I want my grandparents old machine from the 1950’s-60’s, those washing machines were easy to use and built to last.
You have to put the detergent in first before the clothes on these machines. If you put it in on top of the clothes that will happen. I suggest using liquid detergent instead. Use deep water or bulky cycle for more water.
I was wondering the same thing. Mine always turns off when I lift the lid. I like to add the liquid detergent in while it's filling with water, then put the clothes in.
Powdered detergent has to poured into a container and mixed with warm water before adding it into a machine at the bottom of a load. Your best bet is liquid detergent to keep your machine running better longer.
Great video. Can the machine be programmed into reset/ factory mode. My machine is stuck on wash. Only a year old...lousy piece of c-ap. Thank you so much!
The washer has a active drum rotation sensor as long as it detects drum in motion it ,(it also tells the washer control board if the wash drum fails to rotate when it should due to a failure of the mode shifter ,, motor ,, or splutch mechanism defect) as said the washer control board logic won't let you unlock the lid unless the drum is dead stopped .. The control board does have a separate manual test that lets you check if the sensor that senses rotation is working where you rotate the drum by hand slowly and it indicates detected motion on the lights of the control panel.. I beleave this sensor is also located inside the mode shiftier actuator
How do you do this? Mine is stuck in lock mode. My whirlpool washer sensor is stuck in lock mode, and I have tried everything in washer guide. It has nothing on the mode! So was wondering how I can bypass the lock.
@@FeedingMyYoungstersI have the same problem my lid is locked and I’ve tried about everything I can think of or everything I’ve watched and nothing is unlocking the lid yet 🤬🤬 how’d you get your lid unlocked?
I just bought a whirlpool top load washer, can’t get it to work. I’m trying to get that manual you are using, can’t find it. It won’t lock. I followed all the steps. Help.
I have this same model.. The motor turns on while off. The washer could be off, I’ll be in the room and the motor turns on by itself. Also while its sensing you hear the load motor in the background..Any idea what it could be?
I've tried all the different settings (heavy soil, deep water, 2 rinses... you name it) and my clothes are not getting cleaned at all! Do you have any advice? It seems to be running fine, it's just that the clothes seem to be getting wet but not clean.
Hey thanks for the video help me out a lot where can I download the manual you had I can't find it online I did quite a bit searching and I can't find the exact Manuel. Thanks
Hi Lee, I have this exact washer and i've been testing my machine as you described because It went from working properly to getting stuck in sensing mode. The sensing light comes on but it doesn't move along from there. So I'm manually trying to wash but stuck on the rinse and drain part. I'll keep trying to do that but in the mean time....can you tell me how to get it to move along from the sensing mode when it's stuck plse? thanks, RHonda
I got a machine just like this but with a agitator and it is skipping the Rinse cycle and apparently if it does the Rinse cycle it doesn't agitate as it rinses or spin as it rinses not sure if that is normal however.
I have the WTW4816FW2 model and can’t get the sensing or wash lights to illuminate, reset it numerous times, tried calibrating and nothing. The only light on is Rinse and Lock, but dim. I can’t get this to show no lights and start washing again and very frustrating, any clue? Thx
I have this exact washer and it won't spin out the water in my clothes and makes a squeak noise. Any thoughts on this issue. It washes , fills up and drained just won't spin out the water ? I've had it a little over 5 yrs now.
The drive hub is stripped out, either the little piece which is around $15 or it’s the hub itself and it’s well over $100 might as well just get a new washing machine if that’s the case.
When I do the Right, Right, right, left, right no lights come on at all. Any tips ? Literally nothing comes on, we had a storm and the power went out when there was a load in it
My machine is stuck on Locked. Ran the tests ok, but try to do a wash and Locked light comes on, can’t do a wash. Any way to get around this without buying a new machine?
I want to dye clothes in my machine, this model. What's the best way to use this machine to allow the dye to be on the clothes longer than 5 minutes before the machine automatically drains the tub? Could I unplug it with the dye in the water and keep it from draining? Should I use the soak cycle, is this longer than 5 minutes?
@@TechnicalLee Thanks so much! Okay will try this for my next attempt. I did use the bulk setting and just as the machine was about to drain, I lifted the lid and kept the dye water with the clothes for about 10 minutes before it automatically drained. I suppose I could time this and not let it turn off/empty at 8 minutes to get the most out of my machine. The wash cycle for a large load is about 15 minutes. I've got to try the soak cycle, however, to understand how my washer works. Amazing of you to help me!
I received a free washer but the lid recognition seems faulty. It randomly stops because the lid light flashes even though the lid has been closed the whole time. I need to check the manual to see if I can reset it or perhaps do some calibration. Thanks for showing us the special mode feature.
My Whirlpool washer WTW5000DW3 Is going out of balance and shakes like it will break (hard). I went on the internet and replace the four balancing springs. Did not work. I replaced the Mounting hub with an all new metal version W10324651-BA. Did not work. Two things I have noticed 1. washer fills tub half way like normal but on a quick wash setting so, the clothes are wetter when they are drained. It also seams like on quick wash it does 2 washes, 2 rinses, and 2 spins? And 2. the tub is not out of balance when I set to drain and spin only (tub stays balanced). WHAT COULD IT BE??? HELP??
I have a whirlpool model number WTW5000W2. It doesn't seem to spin out the clothes completely. I've checked for blockages and got nothing. I checked the ohms on the pump. Checks out at 20 ohms. During the spin cycle it acts like its not getting up to full speed. It starts to spin....stops.....starts to spin again....stops....and continues throughout the cycle. Any ideas?
Sounds like you have an issue with the drive hub. The little plastic piece that goes over it is probably stripped off and isn’t working properly. If that’s not it the drive hub itself is stripped out.
This is the most complicated machine and quirky have ever had and now some small plastic thing has broken so the machine can't lock and go into spin mode. Will only rinse. Only about 4 years old.
I have this same washer and it stopped spinning. I bought in 2020 and had the 3 year protection plan. The technician came out and said the tub hub was bad. These things rust. He said he could fix it but it cost over $400 so I was given a credit. The technician said not to get another washer without an agitator.
Pls help anyone having a problem with the water not shutting off at all it runs the entire time I tried the control the amount of hot and cold made sure they were not flashing but it’s running the entire cycle
I would just like to figure out why no matter what I choose, the machine ALWAYS fills with a full load of water. It has always done this - since NEW. I assumed, because I was using AutoSensing, that it was filling to an appropriate water level. Then one day I caught it....full tub of water when I only had a few items washing.
Hola saludes de honduras tengo un problema con la lavadora whilpool que no me laba ni me imprime solo queda bloqueada la tapa y la receteo lo mismo sigue
Add detergent first thing before putting in clothes. There's no softener dispenser on this model so you'll have to use a Downy ball or similar. I don't recommend fabric softeners.
