I just made this one at home. Amazing taste and this time I cannot shut my mouht anylonger. I never made cocktails before I found this channel and now I'm getting pretty good. Thanks for this video and all the others.
Looks great! I made something so close to this last week but I had 1/2oz peach liqueur and mine came out a bit too sweet. I’m going to try this one out this week!
Excluding the fact that this cocktail looks absolutely fantastic, there is something SO aesthetically pleasing about the black tins and gold strainer combo you've used today :)
I was really hoping for some slappypants with that mint. Oh well. There’s always next time 👍 UPDATE: I typed my comment prematurely. The slappypoo will suffice.
@@TheEducatedBarfly It actually doesn't matter, it's a great video nontheless! thanks. I think most of us fans like those mistakes a lot, it's like the perfect amount of imperfection :)
Been having this over a big rock of clear ice instead of pebbled/crushed ice and it always hits the spot on hot days. Was subbing in Triple Sec for Curacao and it was still fantastic, much prefer it with the curacao though.
Delicious cocktail!! Just downed my second one in less than an hour. Only thing is when I made mine it was almost syrupy coming out of the shaker. It was a little difficult to double strain. Think it comes from too much muddling? Fantastic drink though!
How much lemon juice would you estimate for 4 lemon wedges? It gets a little crowded in the glass when I want to make it a double. Then is was more lemony than you probably would want. Thanks you are the best bar channel.
Little FYI-Lemmy owned a cheap apartment on sunset strip, he would never give it up because of its close proximity to the Rainbow. In his final days, the owner of the Rainbow took his favorite poker machine and set it up in his bedroom, he was an icon there.
Would a green curacao be a suitable substitute along with lime wedges to make it a "Whiskey Peach HULK Smash" as an answer to the previous Thanos themed cocktail from before?
So the curacao you used here is $47 at BevMo. They sell a DeKuyper Curacao for $16. Am I really going to notice a difference between the two? Let me know. Thanks!
@@cactusmann5542 Normally amazon.com ships it worldwide at decent shipping rates, you could also try cocktail kingdom if barfly by mercer is not an option.
I am so glad that you give us great information as well as tasty cocktails. Some RU-vid cocktail celebrities have now resorted to Ads and Social Justice Warrior rants. Keep up the good work and conversational style.
Peaches aren't quite in season yet. But I have some canned ones that I have been wanting to do something with besides just eat them out of said can. And I swear I heard the Presidents song in my head playing while watching this video
That looks amazing and very healthy as well. Maybe I can use it as a vitamins intake alternative. Don't strain it - even healthier since we are taking fibers as well. 😂
Ah yes. The mackinaws are back in season again. They are very nice and sweet this year. I have my eye on one very dark and slightly overripe 🍑 that is begging to get smashed.
What is the difference between bonded bourban and normal bourbon? I see Old Grand-Dad is 100 proof, is there any other difference? Could I use normal bourbon for this?
@@TheEducatedBarfly I see. Would a regular bourbon be a good subsitute? I am just starting my cocktail journey so I don't want to spend too much on too many different bottles yet :)
Marius, from now on ask if he has everything before he starts, somebody has to keep this guy on track. And please stop interrupting Marius when Marius speaks, some of us come here for his wonderful cinematography!!
Essentially the same but a smash has muddled fruit as well as mint. Although the category has been expanded to a drink with or without the fruit over time. Confusing I know. lol
I'm gonna sound condescending here, but LA people don't know what heat is. SoCal weather is so easy year round. The high temperatures in LA all this week are below 80 and even here in Kansas City, which is not a hot city imo, it's been above 90 every day in June. -.-
Would you be willing to try my cocktail "Sour Faced Monk". It utilizes some not so common ingredients. 1.25 oz Bénédictine 0.75 oz Chartreuse (pref. Green) 1 oz. Lemon Juice 0.5 oz. Orgeat Syrup 2 dashes Peychaud's Bitters 1 Egg White Shake with ice until frothy Serve in coupe Lemon twist garnish
@@TheEducatedBarfly yay, if you try it i hope you enjoy it. A friend said they liked it though that may have been just a nice. Also if that version is too sweet for your liking you can do 1.5 oz of Bénédictine and 0.5 oz of Chartreuse instead
Leandro, I have long wondered whether if you opened your own bar, you would be forced by your own fame and your fan base to name it “The Poo and Pants.”
@@TheEducatedBarfly That was the correction....love your channel. It's not often people have both enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge. I was at the Rainbow for New Years eve in 95 and a regular in the 80s.
What are some drink historian I thought you were a bartender you're 2 minutes and 36 seconds in to the show and nothing poured I'm challenging you to make a drink before you talk about its history why don't you try that for a change
@@TheEducatedBarfly because most of the time I'm at night working when I'm watching my RU-vid shows I'm a security guard I've got time on my hands that being said I like to watch the shows because they have an exact time and it allows me to time my route and runs by the shows where to try changing it up a bit because let's talk to you more drinkee
please don't go down the path of using buffoonish thumbnails. such a turn-off with HTD, i basically stopped watching him cuz yuck. y'all are better than that
Buffoonish thumbnails are a solemn tradition on RU-vid. But I’m impressed that you’d stop watching content you enjoy based on thumbnail design 😂 Either way Marius and I are committed to trying new things, hope you can stick with us regardless
Thanks for adding the "If you like a sweeter cocktail..." I like a dry cocktail but my wife and some guests like a sweeter cocktail. I've been accused of serving gasoline when they try to chug a cocktail that's really meant to be sipped :)
