Awsome hearing your thoughts and seeing what you have & hearing about them ,just subscribed, gonna have to check out your shop.it just costed abit last time I ordered from the UK to be sent to Australia but I think it is worth it to have some history in a bottle to either collect and hold for the kids or to enjoy and share with friends.cheers mark keep up the good work

Brilliant video Mark, great hearing a bit of the story behind some of the bottles and completely agree that a bottle is not just an old liquid but a time capsule from that time. May need to change my mind about opening the bottle of VAT 69 from the 70s...

@@MarkLittler Great insight. Would a single cask release of 200 ish bottles which is bottled for a private bar/restaurant be seen as a collectable?

10:09 Hello, my fav rote Glenfarclas release has to simply be the 185. I tried it blind between the 15, 17, 21, 25, 30 and it just embodies a perfection, a magic if you will.

Wonderful collection! I'm slowly trying to build mine, and love seeing that some of your bottles are open and that you're actually enjoying the contents! I've never tried any of those older bottlings (or the Glenfarclas) but will definitely keep an eye on your website to see if I can pick up a few. 👍👍👍👍👍

Tullamore dew. A surprisingly tasty Irish whisky (although blended) and dirt cheap! I’ll probably get some hate for even mentioning this whiskey here but needed to share the love!

Would LOVE to try the Tsingdao whiskey. Used to live in China and loved my time visiting the city and brewery. It also has an interesting history. Very curious what that bottle tastes like. Would also love to buy that bottle when it’s empty just as a neat bit of history!

Hey Mark. Thanks for sharing your pieces of whisky history. I’d definitely try the drams of Chinese whisky and Glenfarclas. I’ve only had two bottlings of Glenfarclas (thus far) so I’d have to say the 15YO ltd. Ed. for the Netherlands 2020 😅 Cheaper by the dram must have been before I got into whisky. The concept is great and I’d buy some now. Thanks again.

Ye I’m thinking about the whisky exchange sample set you posted about a while back, as only stuck to islay whisky so good to broaden horizons. Surprised the dram concept didn’t work out.

Hi Lea - I know the purchase price for the set is steep, but for the opportunity it offers it's very good value in my books. I think the average works out at £8/dram which is a much better way of looking at it! Maybe you can treat yourself for Christmas?

Nice vídeo! Great fun! I started drinking Genfarclas because it is the whisky used on The gentlemen, Guy Ritchie movie (the 40 yo which I cannot get on my budget) and got in love ever since - the 12 or the 105 are great value/price and may came in 1L botles. I'm fotunate to buy my drums at a store that also has the largest whisky collection according to the Guiness book of records, and many old botles are losing content even with the parafilm wrapper - ways to try to prevent this on a collection I think would do a great vídeo. Cheers!

Hey - glad you liked the video. I think the 105 is a great whisky too - some people seem to find it at amazing prices too! What is the shop you refer too? It might be the AirCon/Humidity perhaps - we have covered this in a video about how to store whisky.

@@MarkLittler hi! Its in Lisbon, Portugal. If you google "largest whisky collection + Guiness records" you'll find it. At the time was like 10k but now is more than 15k unopened, unduplicated botles. Sadly some are evaporating a lot. Cheers!

I remember some years ago they were selling the 18 for 98€ and I said that they must be crazy. Now I am so sorry I did not buy it. Would have loved to give it a try and a review. Got the 12 sherry for a great price. Nice selection mate. Macallan has always fascinated me. Definitely interesting is tasting some of these. I’m like a kid in a candy store. Things that we will not see again.

Was in China many, many years ago and that Qingdao bottle cost about £1.50! I was a student then and bought a bottle. It doesn't even taste like a whisky. I remember a sugar sweet, sickly, syrupy, disgusting taste fit only for the drain. Even adding cola couldn't disguise the awfulness. It is definitely not a Kavalan. It would be a really terrible crime to give out drams of that. Keep it as an unopened novelty bottle. I also tried the local maotai which was incredibly expensive yet I couldn't swallow that stuff either. It reminded me of syphoning petrol from my dad's car. Anyway, please keep that Qingdao away from human consumption.

The Farclas question is hard for me. 1. I adore the family casks series, especially the 1993. But I also love the 105. Its soo good, especially for its price.
